PAST--20031003: Oct 3rd MNSSHP DISmeet

HM sounds like a good place to meet, are you still planning on 7:30ish. I looked to see if they have the parade times out yet but didn't find anything yet, too early still I guest. Keep me posted.
Don

Last year's times (from wdwig.com):
Boo-To-You Parade (A special parade for the little ones): 7:30, 9:30, 10:15.
MNSSH Parade: (no times, two shows each night)
Halloween FITS Fireworks: 9:15
Of course, past times don't guarantee future schedules, but 7:30 at the HM sounds good to me. It'll give us time to meet, chat, maybe ride the HM and still have time to catch the parades and fireworks.

It seems we are all in agreemeant to meet at HM about 7:30ish, as time gets closer we can iron things out a pit. BTW anyone getting dressed up? I already asked my DS10 and he doesn't want to, maybe that will change as time gets closer. We plan on having a hang out day at resort and head over to MK about 4pm.
Don :D :earsboy:

I think that DW and I will have some costume - Halloween is our favorite holiday! However, we'll probably keep it simple - T-shirts w/pumpkins, angel/devil, etc. Keep in mind that you'll need to walk around the park comfortably - the average low temp for 10/3 is 68 degrees, so it'll still be in the 70s during MNSSHP, and that rules out a full fur Tigger suit. Also, you'll be getting in and out of rides, which would be difficult with Tink wings.
But I suspect that there will be a lot of adults without costumes; not everyone plans for Halloween in June like we DISers do.:jester:

Thanks DrTomorrow thats a great idea about the t-shirt thing, I think my son might go for that. I've seen some pictures where people get all dressed up, couldn't figure out how they did some of the rides. Thanks for the idea and looking foward to meeting everyone.

Yikes! So all this time I've been planning on meeting all of you at MNSSHP on 10/3, and today I realized that I hadn't even bought my tickets yet. :D I know, I know -- it probably won't sell out, and I'm just in my "uber-planning mode", but I bought them on DisneyWorld.com just to be safe. Yay, DF and I are now officially there!

On a related subject, what would you folks suggest when it comes to costumes? I don't think I'll be able to talk DF into wearing anything remotely resembling a costume, and knowing him, he'll just put on shorts and a tee-shirt and tell me that he's going as a "college student" or something. Hmmpph! And while I'll admit that Halloween is far from my favourite holiday, I would like to do something to get me in the party mood.

One thing of concern, however, is that we're planning to dine at California Grill just before MNSSHP begins, so there won't be enough time to go back to the resort (ASMu) and change before heading back to the park. I know the meet-up is planned for 7:30-ish, so I want to be sure we're there on time.

So what are you all doing for costumes? I was thinking of something Ariel-inspired (I've got the whole redhead thing going on) but I don't know. I've never been very imaginitive when it comes to costuming ... I think I went as a generic "punk rocker" to all the Halloween parties at school year after year, and the chains, big earrings, and hair glitter are getting a bit out-dated. I need help! :D

Thanks in advance, can't wait to see you all there!

Oh, yes, Ariel is the way to go. The rest of us at the meet will be dying to see the clam shells! :p

Seriously, though, don't feel too obligated to dress up, particularly if you're coming from the CG. I suspect that there will be many adults, particularly those w/out kidlings, that won't be dressed up. It's about fun, not obligation.

One way you can go is with a 'token' costume. Not a full blown Cruella DeVil - complete w/101 Dalmations - but something like devil horns/angel halo, a rainbow wig, a cape, etc. Maybe some goth-type make-up. Something to show the spirit, but nothing that you'd need a dresser to help you with.

We'd be interested in a mini meet too! It'll be myself, my DH, DD(17) and DD (3). We have ressies at LLT at 6:00pm, so we should be able to get to HM at about 7:30pm without too many problems.

This is our first time at MNSSHP and I think it will be a ton of fun! My little one will be dressed up, but the rest of us may only be wearing halloween shirts.

Pammy

Excellent! Glad to have you aboard Pammy!

I'm sure you read the rest of the thread, but the consensus seems to be 7:30 outside the Haunted Mansion for a meet 'n greet, group picture, and a group ride on the HM.

I'm getting excited - the countdown is on!!!

Oh wait, duh - I just re-read your post about your PS time and being able to make 7:30, so you are obviously all up on the time and everything. :teeth:

Thanks!

Yes, I read the thread, so I know about the time and place. I had tried to get an early PS a few weeks back, but it's booked solid, but we should be able to get there without any real problems, it's just a short walk from LLT.

I'm getting super excited too, we have a countdown chain and it's getting pretty short now!

Pammy

We will be there also. Have not got tickets yet. We are going down to buy condo on the 27th of July and will buy yhem then.
Looking forward to meeting some of you.

Glad to see that we're still adding folks to the list - the more the merrier!

Looks like the DIS Meet for the first MNSSHP of the season is going to start things off with a good sized crowd!

The Spooky Season isn't that far away.... :earseek:

Looking forward to meeting some of you.
Good point, JimmyMartin; there are some of us you shouldn't be looking forward to meeting!:jester:

LOL DrTomorrow!

Has anyone thought any more about costumes? I think my DH and I might go the themed t-shirt route.

LOL DrTomorrow!!!

I tried to talk the gang into wearing costumes but I was overruled! My teen said there was no way she was wearing a costume. I'll probably get my hubby and I t's to wear and force him to wear it. LOL My 3 year old is the only one that wants to wear a costume.

Anyone know what the weather is like in the evenings in Oct.? This is our first Oct. trip.

Pammy

The average low temp for 10/3 is 68 degrees, so it'll still be in the 70s during MNSSHP, Pammy. That's why DW and I are opting for T-shirts - heavy fabric, capes and/or makeup could make for an uncomfortable evening.

PS, I am Dr_Tomorrow_born_in_WI!
