Passport to travel by air?

Are you a US citizen? If so, no you don't need a passport to travel by air within the US. However, you do need one for travel by air to other countries.

Travel within the 50 United States does not require a Passport. However, you will be required to show a governmental approved photo ID. Usually a driver's license. If you don't have one of those, check the TSA website for other IDs that are accepted. Of course, a Passport will always be accepted as a photo ID.

Also remember that when making your airline reservations, you will need to provide the gender and birth dates of your travel party.

However, as far as quick and easy IDs go, I love traveling with the pport. So easy and simple and my checkins were even faster than with the drivers license.

My passport card is the only ID I use anymore when flying domestic.
