Has anyone not received their passport on time ? What did you do ?
We sent in all our passports back in early March, DH's had an issue (they couldn't make out the credit card expiry date) so it was delayed a week, and apparently is now in printing and will be back by April 9.
NOW, We leave the 20th, but the 10th & 13th are holidays so I think were royally screwed and it won't arrive on time.

What options are there ?
My nerves are shot !

Don't panic yet!
If it's going to be mailed on the 9th, I think there's a good chance it will arrive in time. However, you can contact your MP and ask what they can do to speed up the process.
At one point you could have your passports delivered express. Call and explain the situation.
Are you driving? If so, you won't need one anyway! Only for flying into the US at this point until I believe June 1.

They send them by Expresspost - so it won't take long once they send them (we got them 2 days after they said they would send them). Not sure if you have supermail boxes but they are signature required so make sure if you have to pick them up at the post office that you take a piece of ID - and each person has to pick up their own.

Thanks, Well when DH called they said it should be back from printing on the 9th, So I don't know if thats the date it will be mailed out.
He has to call them back tomorrow. They told me its only 2-3 business days since they send them express post, but mine and DD's were sent out last Tuesday and aren't here yet. Oy !

I know if we had a local MP send them in ( soo should have done this) they are done quicker but is there anything that can be done since its already being processed ?

Thanks again !

Call your MP's office. They can speed things up for you. They helped us in 2007. We had sent our in early May and by August we had not received them. This was when the processing time was about 14 weeks. We received them about a week before we left.
Good luck!!

Maybe their were other issues with the applications. Do you know if they called the guarantor or your references? Maybe they were tying to get a hold of them and had a hard time so that could delay your processing as well.
Since the passports are going to need a signature upon delivery, they would have a Canada Post tracking number. Call back the 1-800 number and tell them you want to know where your daughter and your passports are and they can find out. Maybe CP tried to deliever when you weren't home?

We have an office in Halifax and I took them directly into the office and they said to us "the print date for these is March 4th do you need them before that? (if so you could pay extra for a rush). And we rec'd them on the 6th via expresspost.

My husband is an American and had to apply for a Cdn Resident card and the wait time on that was 45 days - at that point we had 44 days before we went away - I wanted to kill him!! Anyway, he sent a copy of our airline confirmation and asked them to rush (they told us to do this) and we got his card back in less than a week.

His US passport also took less than a week.

I think you should be fine - but perhaps just call and see the status of it.

Good luck!!

Mine, and DD's arrived today, DH called regarding his and apparently it is back from printing and in "reviewing" hopefully this process doesn't take too long and its dropped in the mail ASAP ! My credit card still hasn't been charged for his though.

one of my sons took an extra day (so instead of getting his on a Friday we had to wait until Monday).

Great to hear you have 2 down!!

We ended up making a phone call to our MP here in Wainwright, and never heard back so I called our MP back in Cape Breton who got right on it, our file is now being electronically sent to the Edmonton office and *HOPEFULLY* we will be able to pick it up before we leave. They are supposed to call us when they recieve it.
