Passport covers? Anyone make their own?

Has anyone made their own passport covers? Are there restrictions at all on what you can use or do with and to them as long as you're not doing anything to your passport itself? I was thinking about painting personalized DISigns on each family member's ones.

I wasn't sure if this belonged in the Creative forum or the DCL (which is what I'm using mine for)...or what. Sorry fi I posted in a bad place.
