I have a current passport and was wondering if I should still bring my drivers license with me also? I will be spending a few days in Orlando proir to our cruise. Will the passport be enough or should I still bring the extra photo ID?

I would bring it. Are you going to be driving at all while in Orlando? Your passport is the best ID onboard, but I would feel better knowing I had my D.L too.

Have a great time!:wave2:

I brought both. God forbid you lose one or the other, at least you have backup. Make sure you keep a copy of your passport in a separate location...but still on vacation with you.

Do I make a photo copy of my passport? I never even thought of that. No, I will not be doing any driving but I think you're both right about having a second ID. I was thinking that the passport would be sufficient but it is a good idea to have a second form of ID. For some strange reason it seems the closer our cruise gets the harder it is for me to think clearly. Thank you all for your insight.

Yes, make a copy of your passport. Actually, some people recommend walking around with this -- keep the real one in the safe on the ship. You only need your drivers license and KTTW card to come on and off the ship. When in port, I bring my drivers license and a copy of my passport. If I lost the copy, I still have the original. (Or, if my purse was stolen)

My sister had her passport stolen the day before her flight was to leave. It would have been MUCH easier if she were carrying the copy.

I believe that you have to show photo ID to get on and off the ship, in addition to your KTTW card(?) You wouldn't want to carry your passport around...

Yes bring the Drivers License. Use the passport when checking in at Port Canaveral, then use the DL and KTTW card to get off and on the ship (they are the same size and I keep them together while on the cruise). Your passport is in lieu of your birth certificate.

I would never go anywhere without my driver's license.

Definitely, bring it!!!!

Yes, make a copy of your passport. I always leave one at home with a friend who I can contact and another to carry with me. HTH

Our family has passports to use for our cruise, and I will be sure my husband and I also bring our driver's license. What about the kids? We just need their KTTW card for disembarking at ports, not their passports...right? The last thing I need is to be responsible for passports while we're sightseeing...I would lose them for sure!!!
Does anyone recommend bringing the kids' (6 and 8 yrs old) birth certificates as back-up for the passports? I will be sure to have photocopies of all the passports, but we have a license to use if something were lost/stolen and obviously the kids have no other form of ID.
I'll tell you...everytime I think I'm in great shape for our upcoming cruise, I think of something else that must be done or worried about!!!! Yikes!

They said anyone over the age of 18 had to have their KTTW card and a photo i.d. Under 18, just the KTTW card. I carried all our passports everywhere anyway.
