So as it gets closer and closer to the big day i can't stop thinking about it! Less than 2 weeks we will be in disneyland!

So.... we have a 6 hour drive to vegas and then another 4 hours the next day to anaheim...

:drive: :drive: :drive: :drive:

Who has some good suggestions to pass the time in the car or just some fun stuff to do while driving?

keep in mind it is just us (Bride-to-be and I)...

You know if its just the two of you it might be cheaper to fly down. Im not sure of the last minute rates but I do know that we booked our JetBlue tickets for $70.00 pp, each way. Just a thought.
Oh and it sounds like were going to be at DL at the same time so be sure to watch for my green Mickey. :thumbsup2

Well, let's see....we talk to each other, listen to old music (we were singing along with 80s stuff yesterday lol), eat beef jerky, nuts & sunflower seeds together, well not the same piece but you know what I mean. :) Play with the Garmin to see what pops up on our drive, complain about other drivers.....LOL We've even played "I'm thinking of..." which is like 20 questions but it's very centered around DL/DCA for us. It's a 6 hr drive for us to get from our door to DL without stopping...but we need to stop for gas a potty break so....LOL :)

DH and I always play sort of a "Name That Tune" type of game. We take turns whistling or humming a song and the other person has to guess what it is. We do all kinds of music including theme songs and jingles from commercials and of course disney songs, among others.

:rotfl: :rotfl: I can just picture that!!!!!

We just talk, listen and sing along to music, try to find license plates from different states. I always ask questions about different cars we see since DBF is a big car buff, it keeps him occupied while driving so he doesn't get bored. :3dglasses

We love comedy Cd's a guy at work likes books on cd.

Sometimes we'll grab some of the tv/movie crossword books and I'll read my bf the questions and we'll try to solve them.

Like the idea of the comedy cd's, we'll have to try that one!

Play some Disney music or listen to some Disney podcasts. I also like old time radio shows and books on disc. Love 80's music too! :thumbsup2

A guy at my work plays books on tape on long trips too, I've considered it, but I just keep thinking that after a while it would be boring... :rotfl:

I'd want a book, that I'd never read, but I'd want to know it was going to be good, ahh, too many factors come into play!!

We play "when I went to the market" on our trips, it's a lot more fun when there are lots of people playing, but it can work with 2 people.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's a memory game, the 1st person says "When I went to market I bought a ... banana(for eg.)" then the 2nd person says "When I went to market, I bought a banana and a ... pie(for eg.)" then you just have to remember what has been said, and in what order, and keep it going for as long as you can.

Text and talk on your phone w/o a hands free device, ha. Just enjoy the drive.

Courtney we do the license plate thing too. :)

There is the ABC to Z sign game - you have to find a word that starts with your letter.

I like to make up stories about the other drivers that we see. . . . we might see a young man driving with an old lady in the passenger's seat and I'll say that the old lady is really an escaped criminal from the old folks jail and she has carjacked the car and is heading to her crazy daughter's house. My husband may say that the young man is the older lady's grandson and he has taken her from the old folk's home for her trip of a lifetime - heading to DL to ride Soarin' for the first time. You get the idea. It is fun!

I listen to audio books. Amazingly entertaining. I listen in my car whenever I am alone, as in no DD8. I don't get frustrated sitting through light after light as the clock is ticking on my way to work...just listen.

As for it having to be a good book, I find that I can listen to a mediocre book quite happily as I am driving. Many that I couldn't sit and read due to the drivel, detail, general badness, I can listen to them without annoyance!!

I get mine at my public library. I can check them out for 3 weeks. My library also has some available to down load.

A few that my husband and I (both of us...there are many he loved and I was so so on, and visa versa) have LOVED on CD are, Blessed are the CHeesemakers, (Funnier that anything should be!!, cover art is cheesy, story funny!!), the Harry Potter series, The Green Mile series, Chronicles of Narnia, and many more.

Talking and music are good too. But audio books are easier!!!!

Wow you guys are quick for the great advice!

My DF already shut the Book on CD down... sad... I wanted to finally get through Fellowship of the Ring.... but she has already read it a million times! :rotfl2:

We might have to try some of those games! probably not the 999,999 toys though.... :rotfl:

I already have a partial disney playlist! It's only 5.2 hours though! :rolleyes1

What is this game about the GPS?:confused3

We used to do Disney Moments with the kids on these drives..but it would still be fun with 2 people..at intervals I'd ask questions about a ride and then read the results from the Unofficial Guide. They have some pretty good trivia and details.

There are a bunch of books with titles like, "Would You Rather...", "Name Your Favorite...", "Unfinished Sentences..." from a publisher called Youth Specialties. Hundreds of questions in each book. They're great conversation starters or just fun to get to know another person. Can be found inexpensively on book sites A-zon or 1/2.

I may see you at DL as well. My first trip and I'm going solo in just a week!
