Passing Out / Fainting.

i just blacked out on saturday when me and my cousin were boxing he hit me pretty hard and he said i was out for like 8 seconds. i dont know if this counts tho but one time it was at a cancer walk and my cousin told me to drink 2 monster energy drinks and later that night i was so dizzy i couldnt walk.

Wow. Glad I'm not the only one.
I don't think it's a tall thing though, I'm 5'3 and whenever I lie down and sit up really fast, I get dizzy too.
It's all the blood rushing in your body.

Is anyone anemic here?I know I was borderline anemic before chemo, and chemo induces anemia, so there's a good chance I'm anemic now.
I've heard that anemia can cause you to pass out.

but I always feel like im sick and useless but the doc. keeps tellin me its anemia

Hi, I'm Mackenzie. ^.^ I'm new here xD

I've actually passed out quite a few times. Like today. :P I had to get blood work done and they showed me the needle and that was it. I passed out. I woke up and there were all these male nurses around me. I was like, "Oh. Hello. o_o"

I passed out in the summer all the time, too. Mostly when I run. And softball when I get overheated from catching. The gear is uber warm.

I wasn't talking about you at all; I didn't even read the whole thread :p and I still haven't. Just most people that I know of who have passed out passed out b/c of drugs.

Plus I thought I was being funny <----(Please no comments)
Wow, I have never been anywhere near drugs and that has nothing to do with me passing out.

My mom got really sick from her iron pills, also.

Once about 2 years ago, I woke up and had felt a little dizzy. I just ignored it and went out in the living room. I was walking down the hallway, and fainted. I didn't even know it had happened, all I remember is a sharp pain in the back of my head and my mom yelling at me when I started to wake up. She thought I had just laid down right in the middle of the hallway! And the pain was because when I fainted, I hit my head on the corner of the vent in the hallway. I started freaking out because I had never fainted before in my life, and I was really scared.

I found out I just had a low blood sugar because I hadn't eaten anything, and it made me dizzy. I drank some orange juice and I was fine. But it really freaked me out.

Has anyone ever passed out/blacked out/fainted?
Or have you ever seen someone pass out?

I have a friend that passes out regularly, she has a health issue. She's alot better than she used to be though. But we (her friends) know what to do now when she faints, we don't put her in the recovery position which sounds INSANE, but she has these special 'smelling salts' things that she keeps in her pocket, that we put under her nose and then she will eventually come round. The first few times she fainted it was terrifying but now we are all prepared :)

I have never blacked out myself.

-:hippie: Ashleigh.

Yes I passed out or actually, suffered heat stroke just recently.

I was at the hot pools in the sun for close to 2 hours. My body temperature had reached 40.2 degrees (Celcius) and about 5 or so steps out of the pool my vision quickly faded and I was out cold until a minute or so later with a few medical staff around me and everyone at the pools watching closely. Haha it's not a good experience but it's really quite something being on the target end of all the kids saying 'what happened' and 'i hope he's okay' and 'I can't watch this!' ( that ones from the mothers ;) ) and also the vision fading bit was quite cool. For the rest of the day I had issues with my vision where in what looked like a vein behind my eye causing distortion (probably from a ruptured blood vessel or high blood pressure)

But from my experience I can let on some key info. If you're in a hot pool at you're sweating, get out. Same goes for high heart beat.

[edit] oh and my hearing was buzzy as anything, I could hear high pitched noises in the 12-21khz range for the rest of the day.

But I'm not pathetic or anything, I have been in the pools previously and not had an issue even with immensely high body temp, also had things fall on me, fallen from things and just been able to get up. Sometimes theres that shock you have when you injure yourself and you have this urge to move around a lot. Like I was jumping between stacks of crates in a factory and fell from one just a few meters up, I landed on my knees (only a kid so I was light) and it hurt so bad I just had to run around in circles till the pain passed. :P

I've never passed out. Or blacked out. Or fainted.

I try my best to stay standing up.

I thought I never would black out, a little while ago.

And then I got the stomach bug. (I didn't throw up, just kind of like when you burp, it tastes like sulfur. Blech. :p)

I was feeling really cold, so I thought I'd take a bath. Wrong move. The water felt too cold, so I made it as hot as I could. Defenitely the wrong move. I stayed in for like, a half an hour. I was like, "Ok I'll get out and have dinner, watch a little TV maybe." So I stood up and walked to the door. I started feeling really dizzy. But sometimes that happens to me, so I thought I was just gonna see black for a few seconds. It just so had happened that my mom was passing the bathroom as I was feeling this (Thank God she was) and I started to leave the bathroom. But then I said "Mom I feel dizzy.." and then I went black. I woke up to my mom saying "Michelle Michelle, stay with me, look at me, keep talking, an ambulance is coming" I'm thinking to myself HOLY CRAP MY MOM CALED 911?! THATS NEVER HAPPENED TO *ME* BEFORE!! I tried to keep my head up, but it just kept dropping; I felt really tired. But I could just barely speak and keep my eyes open. So here I am, in my "birthday suit" (The towel fell off when I passed out :P). My mom got me a robe before the paramedics came *PHEW*. By that time, she had basically tried to carry me to the couch. I was responsive, and I could speak, but I felt tired. Now this being my first time having a scary thing like that, I was afraid to go to sleep. But by the time the ambulance had actually come, I felt a heckava lot better.

So yeah, I think that's more of blacking out then fainting.

So no, I've never fainted. Just had a really bad black out because I hadn't eaten very much that day :sad2:

Your story is similar to mine.
I was using the restroom, felt overheated, and passed out.
When I woke up,I felt really tired, could barely keep my eyes open, and just managed to say mom what happened.
Well mine was also embarrassing cause I had my pants around my ankles and apparently I was 'still using the facilities' as there was 'evidence' aka #2 on the floor!! :scared1:
My mom just managed to lift me on the bed,and once I layed down I felt much better.

Jenny,I also get sick from my potassium and magnesium pills.
They make me incredibly nauseaus and half the time the pills come right back up.

I think I passed out on a beach one day but it was more like everything went black. :beach: I was on my boogieboard and a wave took me to shore then it pulled back really hard and my boogie board wammed into my stomach and I couldn't breathes for what seemed like forever but was only a few seconds. Then everything whent black and I freaked out. I guess I just got the wind knocked out of me. SO I got up and just laid on a towel for awhile.:fish:

I passed out when I was 13 because I had an allergic reaction to aspertame (sp?). It's a sweetner found in diet cokes and stuff like that. It gives me seizures and makes me pass out.
