Passholders can only book 1 room per pass now????

OK, so here's my question. When we go again to purchase our pass, my son will be 10. We were planning to book 3 rooms for May of 08 at a passholder rate and take our extended family. There are 3 of us (DH, me and DS who will be 10). Can a 10 year old (since he has an "adult" pass) book a room?

If not, then why do I pay for him as an "adult" ticket/pass?

I would think yes, since it's not a child pass, but I really don't know. I didn't know that passholders could only book 1 room per pass now. That's really gonna put a glitch in my plans for next summer.

Sorry, as I understand it only an adult 18 or over can book a room at Disney.

Could you imagine 15 and 16 year olds spending their summer vacations at Disney resort without chaperones!

ARRGH!!!! Sorry, but I needed that. I have to book 3 rooms. Hubby, son and I are the ones who will go back within a year...the others won't. I need 3 rooms and, in the past, passholders could always book up to 3 rooms. Now, a passholder can only book 1 room? And, even though Disney says my 10 year old is an "adult" from a ticket pricing standpoint, I can't use his pass to get that 3rd room?

That's it! I've had it with all the changes they've been making to the passholder program. We've held passes for 3 years (even though we're in MO)...guess we won't renew!

Hmmmmm....maybe I'll just take my vacation dollars somewhere other than Disney.

I think the new policy is to help prevent abuse from folks just looking for a room discount. Unfortunately, sometimes the good have to suffer for the bad.

Brian, I agree with you. But in this case, I think it is my family suffering for the greed of Disney!

You know, my family is a Disney shareholder...maybe I need to let them know from a shareholder (OK...one of a zillion) that I like my dividends...but I like my vacations more!

I just got off the phone with CRO, and it is NOT TRUE that you can only book one room per annual pass. I was told that it is still 3 rooms. Perhaps the confusion is that wherever someone read this, it was referring to on-line booking. I asked the question twice and it was confirmed twice that it is still up to three rooms per AP holder--nothing has changed.

This change was posted on Mousesavers about a week ago & Mary usually is always right. I would believe Mousesavers before some of the CM's I've gotten on the phone.

I've looked all over the AP website also, and it's not there. And it wasn't in the Mickey Monitor either. ( I did find a 25% discount for Cirque, though)

I would also question to info on the AP website. The other day I booked a room on the AP website & the terms & conditions showed the 6 day prior cancellation terms. I called today to cancel the room & they said it is a 45 day cancel term which is what it was always on the website. You never seem to get correct info from either CRO or the website. There were many other websites that had the 1 room per AP change listed in the past week including The Dis.

New AP room discount policy
As we first broke on last Thursday's MousePlanetWatch news podcast, there is a new policy regarding Annual Passholder room discounts. Individual passholders can no longer book up to three discounted rooms. For each AP-discounted room, there must be one adult passholder in the room. The passholder will need to present a valid annual pass at the time of check-in to be eligible for the discount.

This new policy is so new that, as of last week, some floor agents at the Disney Reservations Center were not aware of it yet. Previously booked AP-discounted reservations are not included in the new policy.

Since this is so new, there may be cast members that do not enforce it; however, you should not count on this. Please book rooms according to the policy to avoid surprises when you check in.

Seems to me that if you book one room and your DH books one room, if each of you are passholders, then you could have at least 2 rooms at the passholder rate. There are so many new changes right now that I don't think the left foot knows what the right foot is doing

To the OP, I am with you on being Mad on this change! What else are they taking away this year? I didn't use the 3 rooms often, but I have used it to take my married children. They only go for a few days a year.

I am in complete agreement. Seems like everytime I turn around Disney is changing the policy on something that is costing us more money. Getting very discouraged here.

I too have been so disappointed this year. I booked 3 rooms for my family and guest during free dining. Did not want to do the free dining so advised my group against it and wait for annual pass discounts. Then, since we had already book at AKL, they released the discount codes, but not for AKL. By this time free dining was gone. I recently got an email from my travel agent and we have a discount code, but only for one room. I just can't believe it. This is the first time this group is going to Disney. And just a side thought, now they closed RnR during our stay. What is Disney going to do next . Yes my pass paid for itself, but I'm not sure I'm going to renew either. May wait to repurchase, IF I can get a better deal next time.
