Passholder pin questions

Hi,
Would someone please explain how the passholder pins work at Disneyland? Is there one per year? Multiple per year? When they run out do they get more stock in? Where can they be found?

I am planning to make a piece of wall art with Disneyland pins that have meaning for our past year. We were passholders this year, so I want to be sure to get one to commemorate that.

If anyone can bring me up to date on how pins work, that would be appreciated.

I don't know how many there are, but there are multiple. Every few months I check in at a pin store and they show me what's available or new. I got something at the 24 hour event in May for the 60th anniversary, but bet there might be more anniversary ones & there's generally at least one holiday one. The pin store in tomorrowland or frontierland are the ones I usually go to.

DLR releases multiple passholder pins per year. Some are standalone pins, others are parts of sets that you have to visit the park multiple time per year to get all of the pins. They're generally limited edition pins, so once they run out, they're out (sometimes a shop will get a few more in or they will consolidate stock into a single shop). There are AP pins for both DL and DCA, so it's worth checking out the pins shops in both parks. In DL, I've had the best luck at the pin shop on Main Street (next to the Magic Shop), in the center cash register island in the Emporium, the Frontierland pin shop, and the Little Green Command Store (Tomorrowland pin shop). Over in DCA, I've had the best luck at Julius Katz and Son (in shop on BVS) and the first room in Elias & Co (the one where they do the hat embroidery). The DTD pin shop (by RFC) also often has some of them.

The next AP pin is due out on July 9th. It's the Alice Diamond (top row, far right):

They are also doing a series of "Meet Us At Flo's" pins, featuring different Cars characters. I think the last one came out in May and featured Luigi and Guido. There was one earlier in the year (February) featuring Sarge and Filmore. I don't know if they still have any of these in stock, but they'll be in DCA if they do.

lorijohnhill, I don't know if you saw the Blog Posting, but there is going to be a special AP t-shirt released on July 16th. The Parks Blog also indicated that a follow-up post in the near future will cover the July pin releases, so it's possible that there might be some more AP merchandise in that one too.

I saw that. Thank you! I am looking forward to seeing the follow-up post. I'm also wondering if there will be a pin for Halloween, but I know we'll have to wait and see on that one!

In the past they had a special AP pin for MHP, but there really wasn't one for Halloween in general (AP only, I mean). You can get a sense of the pins (and release dates) from pinpic's database of AP pins (I have the filter set to 2014, but you can change the year in the drop down menus on the left).
