Does anyone know which I am sure someone does?
What discounts do Passholders get in Disney? Trying to weigh the benefits of getting one with a large group going. Can you only book three rooms?
Do you get discounts on other tickets?
THANKS on any info!!!
;)

No Discounts on regular tickets but you can get a 25% discount on MNSSHP and MVMCP but its only a couple dollars cheaper than buying the tickets in advanced. Not sure about how many rooms you can book. I've read on here that booking 3 rooms is no longer allowed but I've never confirmed this. You can get a 10% discount on lunch at different TS restaurants in the hotels (but not all) and TS at Epcot's World Showcase. I just looked up Mary's site and it says that you can still book 3 rooms. She suggests calling to book instead of booking online. Booking on the phone you are still able to cancel anytime prior to the 5 days before you reservation without penalty, whereas online you lose a 1 night's deposit.

The 10% discount on meals at EPCOT restaurants is only Monday-Friday.

There are some discounts on shopping and eating at DTD, too.

Also, discounts on Water Park, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest and Cirque de Soleil and behind the scenes tours at MK, EPCOT, MGM & Animal Kingdom. (If you buy a Premium Annual Pass it already includes the Water Parks, Disney Quest and I think, Pleasure Island. But, if you are just going to buy 1 pass for the room discount you will probably only need a regular annual pass.)

also discount on tixs to pleasure island, water parks and disney quest.

Just remember a room discount is only a possibility. It's all based on room availability. It's not guaranteed. I wouldn't want someone to think it was a definite thing and then be disappointed.

We each have a PAP. Our passes include entrance into all four theme parks, PI, water parks and DQ. No black out dates, free parking, blah, blah, blah.
There is also 10% off at select DTD stores. (Ghiradelli, Basin, WoD, AMC Theatre, that I can think of.)
I think one night a week each PAP can take a guest into PI for free. (Thursday?? Don't know, because we have never done that.)
We have bought discount tickets for friends when they enter PI and DQ with us. The discount is not anything hardly worth mentioning. And we were told it is for same day tickets only.
Correct that the room discounts are never guaranteed for PAP or AP holders. So don't buy one solely for that reason.

I use my AP for park entrance and sometimes room discounts. The other discounts really aren't all that terrific...with the exception of the DDE card. As far as being able to get room discounts goes, the discounts are out there. But you can't book a room with the AP discount as early as most would like to. So it's sometimes hard to plan accordingly. If you want to get some idea of when the AP rates come out and how much they can be for, head over to the Code/Rates thread on the Resorts board. They have some pretty good info there.

One of the main reasons I bought my AP was to get DDE and, with the DVC member price break on the AP, it has been a great purchase. The DDE card gives a 20% discount on food and beverage at MOST table service restaurants and the discount also applies to alcoholic beverages...the savings can really add up if you have a large group and if you plan to eat at nice places but don't want to be locked in to a dining plan.

You don't have to buy your AP before you make the room ressies. When I heard about the spring AP discount, I booked two rooms at WL (discount of $133 each) and did not buy my AP until the next month (had to spread out the charge bills!). Then I ordered a DDE card to get the 20% discount for our 4 table service meals. The room discount alone saves twice what the AP costs! I would wait until you book the discounted rooms before getting the AP.
