No, you can't even take items in zippered pockets on all the rides. The paper stuff is fine, but any other items will need to be removed from zippered pockets before riding.

So if you have a phone in a zippered pocket they make you put it in the locker? Do they pat people down or is it honor system?

With the exception of Hulk, RRR, and Dueling Dragons, you'll be fine with your phone in your pocket. But for those 3 rides they have metal detectors to ensure you have absolutely nothing with you.
