Hello everyone,

I received the happy news that we passed ROFR on 3/14. I was told it would be 1-2 weeks for disney estoppel and to receive our closing docs, and it is now 17 days later. I have tried to contact my broker twice to inquire about our closing docs, but I have yet to get a reply. This is worse than ROFR :happytv:

Thanks for letting me vent,
K

We found out on 3/14. Was told 2-3 weeks for closing. Contacted them last week. Said another week or so. I did double check the contract; closing on or before 4/23!:scared1: So, still have some time for them to get stuff done!

I am sure they will be there soon and you will be a DVC member!!! I can imagine tht some of the brokers and title companies are overwhelmed with all the contracts and could be why it was delayed.

No consolation for you, I know, but hope it goes fast!!

Ooo! Let me join the venting party. Passed on 3/13, no docs. Glad it's not just me. At this rate, when I finally get my points, there won't be an available rooms till December, when my 190+ 2009 points expire! (ok...backing off the ledge now...):rotfl:

I did check my contract too and it promised a closing by 4/15. It seems that some are getting paperwork pretty quickly, so you can't just blame it on volume. Is there a difference between new members and existing members? As a newbie, is my process more difficult with more steps for the title company?

Nope we are members and it took 13 days to get our closing docs which we just received this week and it says we are suppose to close April 19! That is for my contract I am selling. We are also purchasing and passed ROFR this week and it did say 2 weeks to get closing docs. I too have 2009 points that have to be used by Sept 30! I am sure they are swamped.

OP - I would try to contact the closing company since it has been 17 days. I did this for some other questions and I got a response within 24 hours with my answers!
Good luck and hold on tight everyone lets just hope ALL these contracts get processed correctly.

we passed ROFR on 3/21. I emailed our broker twice to see if there are any updates, and received no response thus far. Sent one email Tuesday, one yesterday. I understand there may not be any updates, but it's not that hard to write that in an email. It annoys me that I'm about to write this huge check and they won't answer me. But, this is part of the process.

We too are going to have points that I fear we'll find hard to use.

A contract I sold passed ROFR on 3/14 and I haven't received closing documents yet either. I was thinking about contacting the closing company today just to verify that there hadn't been a mix up in addresses or something but will just wait. I hoped I wasn't being an evil seller holding up the process! :goodvibes

-Passed ROFR 3/14 on contract purchased through TSS.
-Buyer closing docs received from *** via e-mail 3/20.
-Docs and check returned 3/28.
-Closing on or before 4/12/11.

As others have said, the brokers are probably a little overwhelmed. Fortunately, our resale purchase does not have any points available until 8/1/11, but I would be anxious, too, if there were points pending expiration before the end of the year!

Notified of ROFR passing on 3/14, was told the exact same thing for closing docs. Just e-mailed the brokers for an update yesterday.... still waiting... we must be using the same company:confused3 I feel your pain

I know it seems like a long wait.
We just purchased resale and it took two to three weeks to get our closing papers after ROFR.

I've got you beat. We passed on 03/08 and are still waiting for the closing docs. Didn't find out till 03/15 that the deed was in propate and the closing company was having difficults getting hold of the lawyer.

Latest word is that we should have the closing document sometime next week.

Just checked my email and the closing documents just arrived:cool1:

We were notified by Fidelity on 3/7 that we passed.
Received closing documents via email on 3/16.
Wired the $$ from our bank and faxed back closing documents on 3/17.
Scheduled to close 4/5.

I don't think this is too bad..... but we are not looking to use any points from this contract right away either.

I hope you all get closed soon and can book your trip. We were in the same position last summer when we bought our BWV contract.

So funny. Now that I've passed ROFR, I'm in no hurry to get the documents and kiss the check goodbye! You all can have my place in line.:rolleyes1 But, all my trips are booked for the year, so that definitely makes it easier.

You need to nag them. We passed on 3/20 and closed on 3/31.

Good luck, and keep nagging!!!

Personally, I don't think the date is an excuse for the company to sit on the paperwork. I say nag them. Closing dates are always changeable in property transactions, and if they've got everything from both the buyer and seller, they need to get the paperwork filed for you.

WE passed ROFR on 3/14 .Also told 1-2 eeks for closing paperwork ,when not recieved this past monday i called broker who said probably later this week, called yesterday was told most definetly by today,,,,, So we wait....

I say call your broker ,don't e-mail and wait.I've always been able to talk to Sharon or Rachel at Fidelity and thay've always been pleasant and helpful.
