Partylites Party?

Partylite has wonderful candles. Partylite and Pampered Chef are the only two "home sales parties" that I'll accept invites to. The prices for their merchandise is in the dame range as Yankee Candle, and IMHO the quality is the same as well.

They're nice candles - they burn without any of the black smoke. I always feel so pressured to buy (of course). The seller will probably tell you they're the only candles they use at the White House! (Supposedly because they burn clean.)

For scent, I prefer Yankee Candle tarts.

I've had one before. It's fun and you'll get a bunch of free stuff as long as you have enough guests and they buy a lot. I got about $100 in free stuff!

I don't really like the candles though. They are fine decoratively, but their scent isn't very strong at all. I've burned some of them that I couldn't smell at all. I much prefer Yankee and White Barn.

Now there home decor stuff is great. That's what I mainly bought with my "free" money.

I always feel so pressured to buy (of course).

So do I.
I have stopped buying them because they always ended up in my annual yard sale.

I try to go to yard sales every Saturday & I always see them at least once a week.

My wife and her friends are constantly trading these parties around. My wife swears by them - no black smoke to clean up. We had a 3 wick candle that was burning very oddly and it was almost all the way down and the rep replaced it for free because it looked lopsided the way it was burning.

They also would agree that they are not as strong but still are better because some others are really too strong. I don't know about Yankee Candle...

The only thing I ever bought from looked very cute in the catalog, but ended up being cheap crap. I paid $75 for it and could have picked out something better looking for about $5 in a drug store.

I gave it to Goodwill.

I used to really like the Partylite candles, (I still like some of their candle holder stuff).

Then I went to a Home Interiors party. Their candles are the best - very scented and the scent lasts years! I literally packed one away and forgot about it for almost 3 years. It still had every bit of scent as the day I bought it.

But if you can't get Home Interiors - then I agree that Partylite is about the same quality as Yankee.

I think they are okay. i didn't like the lack of selection of scents when I went. We ordered some votive holders and they only work on their candles. Any other brand of votive I have bought won't fit  The scents while burning aren't all that strong. They have neat items though, but I don't think I would buy again.

I'm going against the grain on this one. I don't like partylite candles and I find their merchandise flimsy and overpriced. To be fair though, I haven't been to a party in a few years, so things may have changed.

I love Yankee Candle though.

I recently had a party lite party I got $450.00 worth of stuff and spent about $80.00. But they had items that I really wanted. I don't but a lot of their candles because I prefer candles in jars. They have a new scent called Fresh Cotton that I am in love with though. Other then that their scents are on par with everything else. I agree there is a little lack in variety but they are getting better. I also have their Mango Pineapple scent, and mulberry. They use to be the only place I could get a decent Hydranga scent but they don't have that anymore.

My representative sent me 72 votive candles in a variety of scents for free because my show went so well. I'm currently selling them on ebay as I don't use votives, I prefer tealights.

Also we bought one of their reed diffusers for my MIL's birthday - well it broke when we tried to open it. They replaced that one, and gave me another one for free.

I think the company is really good and stands by their merchandise. But going to party after party gets old.

I just had a party last month.

I agree that when they're burning the candles scent isn't very strong at all, but I'm REALLY sensitive to scent (I can't burn Home Interiors or Yankee without getting a headache from the smell) so they are perfect for me!

They have a lot of cute holiday stuff, too. I love the Thai stuff-- the 3-Wick Sleeve is BEAUTIFUL!! And the little pumpkins (green, orange and purple) are adorable.

I also love the Morroccan Spice Lantern (One of my hostess specials..)

I say go for it! Definitely have a party of your own, you get such great stuff for hosting!

I am hosting a Partylite party for my church. It's great because the consultant does most of the work!

I like the products, but I feel the glassware/decor is overpriced and you can get something similar at Pier 1 for much cheaper.

Great info, thanks
Actually, I am not Hosting one, have just been invited to a party at my SIL and as she is a fair trek away , trying to figure out if it is worth it. She keeps sending me the catalog but I can't open it?

Appreciate all the info!!

I had a partylite party one time, I got lots of free/discounted stuff for hosting. I think they have a really high quality product, I love that the wax never gets hot and the votive holders are really easy to clean after your candle has burnt because there isn't any wax left.

We have a few items from PartyLite and all of my candles are from there. Their catalog has changed over the past few years as well as their scents, but I prefer the older catalogs and scents compared to what they now have.

I started out attending parties then became a consultant on a part-time basis. Being a consultant didn't work out for me b/c the person I was under was a friend from church and she was very, very territorial. I just couldn't get mine off the ground b/c everyone I knew went through her and everyone was kind of worn out by it. I still enjoy attending the parties, but won't go back to consulting again.

I have a few favorite scents like Ocean Mist, Gardenia, the Lavish scents and pine. I also have a few votives left of Drakkar (a men's cologne scent) and won't burn it b/c they don't make it anymore.

DH and I also bought a few items over the years as well like the peg lights, tealight houses, a turkey tealight centerpiece and a few Christmas items as well.

I love their candle holders, but I'm not a big fan of their candles.
