I am trying to find out information about the villas at disney for a friend that would like to go down to disney for the first time with her family and her parents ... they will be 8 total and therefor I think the Villas would be the way to go. Any information about the villas would be great and information about if they ever have codes/discounts for those would also be wonderful too. Thanks

Part of it will depend on which Villas you are talking about. All of them are Disney Vacation Club resorts and mostly used by DVC members. Because of this there aren't usually a lot of codes available, WDW actually has very limited availability at these resorts. Of coures with the size of the newest, Saratoga Springs Reosrt, they may have more availability to use for codes.

The best thing to do would probably be to go to the DVC forums here on the boards and ask more specific question about specific resorts there. Most of the members, including myself spend more time there than the other boards and there is a wealth of knowledge on these resorts there.

You may also be better off getting them to rent points from a DVC member for their stay. You can also get more information on doing this on the dvc boards. Here is a link to the DVC forums: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28

Hope this helps,
Lori

When is your friend planning on going? The DVC resorts get booked up very quickly, especially by members, during popular times and low point times. If you are talking about this summer, your friend may not have many choices. Some parts of June are already totally booked. I'd bet around July 4th is also booked.

Renting points might be an option, but the rental is between the DVC member and the person needing the reservation. Disney is not involved in any manner. If the reservation is available, the member might want 50% up front and the rest no later than 60-70 days ahead of time. Cancelling or changing the reservation may not be an option. It just depends on the member.

Read the FAQs on renting DVC points at the top of that board.

They are not sure about when to go but they are very unwilling to take their children out of school so my suggestion for "off season" (that is when we go) was not really an option. They would like to go during Christmas (Dec. 22-26) but I told them that would be not only expensive but also very busy ... Do you think it is possible to go for the first time with four adults, 3 school aged children and one infant and have a good time during Christmas ????
(I plugged in some numbers on my own and they can go down there ... have two rooms at CBR and majic your way passes for everyone for about 4335.00 with direct airfair from Indy for those dates in December.)
Thanks for your help ...
