Party of 9....can someone clarify this?

I was on the phone with Disney Dining the other morning and I had the hardest time trying to make reservations. According to the CM, she said a party of 9 is an odd-size and they had tables to seat a party of 7-8 and 10 but not 9. Therefore, she had to split us up into 2 tables - 5 and 4. Is this correct? The reason I ask is she seemed a little ditzy, like she would reserve something on the wrong day or wrong time and then I had to correct her. She just seemed confused about everything I would ask. Our 9th person is a baby so it's not like she'd need an actual chair, just a highchair.

Or, does anyone know what restaurants in the parks can seat a party of 9? I did manage to reserve Marrakash and 50s Prime Time which we were not planning on or particularly wanting to eat at but I wanted to reserve someplace where we could all eat together.

Thoughts, anyone? Thanks!

Hi,

We often go in a group of nine and we are almost always told we will be seated at two tables. But we have always had two adjacent tables, and sometimes they are able to push the tables together.

sounds like trouble..... we are a family of 5 and on 2 nights we will having dinner with my parents, and my brother and his girlfriend (party of 9) What would be the best place to shoot for ?

We just made ADRs for 9 for the following and were not told that:
Chef Mickey
Tony's
Ohana
Spoodles
H&V (7 people)
Ragln Rd

Hopefully we will be seted together.

We were a party of 9 and were always seated together at one large table. We ate at: Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon, Dinner at CRT and Le Cellier. I think a trick to getting a larger party all seated together is to get one of the first or one of the last ADRs.

We've traveled with large groups on three trips- eating many character meals. We usually had 2 tables that were right next to each other or pulled together. Actually, the ones that were not pulled together were better b/c it allowed people to move in/out of the tables for the buffet, characters, pictures, etc. without having to walk around both tables. We've never had a problem with this- we've eaten at CRT, Crystal Palace, Donald's Breakfasaurus (sp?), Garden Grill, and others. You should not have a problem sitting together as long as it is under one reservation and not two separate ones- in other words, as long as you have one ADR number.

What you heard is correct. There are very few restaurants that have a 9-top. Most of the tables are 6-7 and then even fewer are 10+.

I've also been in a group of nine--at Thanksgiving--and we had no problems with any of our ADRs--we ate at The Brown Derby for lunch on Thanksgiving Day at one table.

We got 1 table for our party of 12 at 1900 Park Fare and Spoodles. All of our other reservations are 2 tables (except 1, which is 3 tables). Anyway, I was told that the restaurant will try their HARDEST to keep us all together. For us though, if we get separated it's ok cause our group consists of 4 families and we may start getting sick of each other if we spend too much time together!!! LOL

I would try just making the reservation for 10 people then.
