Party of 8, will they seat us if only 7?

I've made adr's for several restaurants for our upcoming trip and we are 8 ppl alltogether. Now my BIL "might" want to go fishing on one or two of the days while we are there but doesn't know which days.

My question is: Will they seat the rest of us for these ADR's or will they not as we are not the full party of 8?

I think I read somewhere that they won't seat if not all in the party are there..please correct me if I am wrong. Not knowing which days he wants to go fishing makes it impossible for me to change the total of people on the excisting adr's.

I'm hoping this won't affect our reservations, but if anyone has any experience of this, please let me know!

You'll be fine. things come up, people get sick, etc. When you check in just tell them that 1 member of your party isn't going to be able to make it and you've just got 7.

On our last trip, we are a family of 6, DH had to take a sick child back to the room. I just explained that some of our party couldn't make it and they just sat the 4 of us. Another time he had to fly back home for work and they sat the 5 of us. I don't think that you will have a problem.

They won't seat incomplete parties if part of the group is elsewhere in the park and is joining the party soon. But if 1 person is not going to make it at all as in your case, you won't have any trouble getting seated. Hope the difference is clear.

What happens if you have 3 and go down to 2. We're supposed to meet someone, but aren't sure if they will be able to make it?

It is much easier to go down in size rather then up. We had reservations for Chef Mickey and Cape May Cafe for four people and wanted to switch it to five and as they had us sitting at a 4-top table they could not add the extra person.
