If I take my two kids without DH on SDD it means my 7.5 year old will be sitting solo. Will they leave the seat next to him empty or will they fill it with a single rider type person? We almost always Disney as a 4 pack so I’ve never paid attention to how they handle this. My 7.5 year old will not be ok riding with a stranger next to him but he’s fine to be alone. TIA!

I’ve heard they fill every seat since it is a popular ride. I do not know from experience. I’m sure someone knows first hand though.

They definitely fill every seat if possible. We rode as a group of 7 in December and our single person rode with a stranger. Nice lady though, she was a solo we chatted with in line.

It won't be a single rider but another person from an odd numbered party like yours.

You will be funneled into 2 lines prior to boarding / even number parties and odd. The cm will take x number of even number parties filling up some of the seats and then take some from the odd numbered parties paring the "singles" from different parties together. You may have a chance to see who is in front and or in back of you and decide if your child is comfortable riding with a slightly older child or someone from one of those parties.

I mention this because the person I ended up riding with had no problem telling me that his family (5) waited such along time and how lucky I was to have just walked up to join them LOL. I was very nice when I told him that actually we were the party (of 3) in front of them the entire time and since we were each odd numbered parties we were paired together to avoid empty seats and that my dd's were sitting together right behind us. He was actually very nice after that but I found it a bit odd that he though that.

Finally -
You "may" also be able to put your 2 children together in front of you depending on the ride vehicle specifications - in some coasters several seats are considered the same ride vehicle, others (like barnstormer) aren't. I am not sure about SDD.

They’ll fill in every seat. We were a party of 3 paired with another party of 3. Both kiddos wanted to sit with their dad, so the other mom and I sat together.

The user above is half right, it may be another odd numbered family but it also very well could be a solo rider it just depends on what they have. But yes they will fill that seat with someone. I was the solo rider placed with a family of 3 in December on slinky dog and other rides like mine train.

I’ve also had foster daughter 7 that I had to let ride with a stranger on mine train and other roller coasters. Her sister was only 4 and therefore it was not an option to pair the 4 and 7 yr olds together and me sit behind them. I was told on multiple rides it wasn’t allowed unless both kids were 7 or older. It’s not ideal but I understand they have to fill the cars.

I'm sure since slinky dog is new they fill every seat. But we are a family of 3 and on mine train my husband sat alone.
