Party of 2 waits longer for a table??

We have never had an issue as a party of two and most of time we are seated on time or early. Sometimes two top tables and sometimes 4 top tables. Never had the issue like at San angel inn. That was awful. We are usually first seating there and get the one two top by the water

We've been about 50% between being put at a 4 top or a 2 top. We never really have to wait long to be seated but we try to eat not at prime time as I think the waits become more of an issue at those prime times.

There was only meal that I felt we didn't have enough table space but that was because of the appetizer that was ordered and the fact we still had our amuse bouche at that time plus a bottle of sparking water and our other drinks on the table. That was an unique situation though since my husband was handling a phone call at that time away from the table.

I just read an article about Disney dining, and was a bit concerned when the article stated that because there are far fewer 2-person tables at sitdown restaurants and they won't "waste" a 4-person table on them, parties of 2 will wait a lot longer for their ADR time.

I typically ask for a 4 person table for DH and myself because we like to "spread out" when we dine, but we have always been a party of 4 with the kids along for all of our Disney trips, so never experienced 2-person dining at WDW.

Need advise on this. I plan only a few ADRs for our trip, but will reconsider if we will have to wait longer for a smaller table if there is a 4-top available for us. Will they refuse a request for a 4-top? :(

We've been a party of two for several years now and haven't felt like we've waited any longer for a table. Can't remember waiting more than 15-20 min max - usually closer to the ADR time than not.

Hogwash. DH and I eat 99% of our meals at Disney TS. I do not like the QS there. We don't wait any longer for our tables on our couple trips than on trips when we have DGD and/or DD with us (needing 3 or 4).

See I have a different experience but I will say that in 20+ trips It only happened once.
2008 honeymoon, had an ADR for San Angel in Sept of that year, we waited for over an hour past our time when DH went up to hostess and pointed out several 4 top tables open, her reply was that we had to wait for a 2 top bc she wasn't seating 2 ppl at a 4 top! Of course my Dh told her it was unacceptable and she got nasty with him. When we went back to our resort a little while later we complained to the manager so we could get the appropriate number to call and he said he would take care of our complaint and apologized. The next morning there was a knock at our door and he sent someone with 2 day passes! Not at all what we were expecting, we just wanted to complain is all..
So anyway other than that its been fine but I do see that it happens at times.. Disney is more worried about the bigger parties at times...
And of course, San Angel is not Disney owned so it doesn't surprise me that they follow different rules than the others or would say that. Or that Disney would be very upset about it

I am often 2. I don't think we wait any longer than when we are three or four.

BUT I wouldn't expect to get a larger table. Many of the restaurants have tables set up that can be pulled apart that lets them seat two couples or offer enough tables for 2. Offhand just thinking of some we went to ............. and got a 2 top ............. BOG, LTT, Marrakesh, 50's Prime, Le Cellier, RFC, Yak & Yeti, CRT, Spice Road, Coral Reef, California Grill ...

I only reserve tables for two and have never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. The one exception was a dinner on Christmas Day at Monsieur Paul. Everybody waited 2+ hours that night, table for 2 or 10. Otherwise, this is not an issue I have ever run across and I dine fairly often at WDW to be able to form a resonable opinion.
