Does anyone have suggestions for good party games for grownups? We have a group of about 16 people who get together monthly for a party. At the last one we played Taboo, which was fun. I’d like to get games for when we host the party and have been looking at Scattergories, Pictionary, SceneIt, Guesstures, Shout About Movies (or TV), Trivial Pursuit on DVD… Does anyone have any favorites among these (or can you think of any others)?

Catch Phrase. Very addictive and a lot of fun.

We enjoy Scene It. They now have a music version that my MIL got us for Christmas. We haven't had a chance to play it yet, though.

I really enjoy Scene It.

Shout About Movies is also very fun - but has zero replay value.

If we have a big group, Cranium is always a good choice.

Love, love this game. Loads of fun! :rotfl:

Also enjoy Scattergories, Taboo, Imaginiff, Apples to Apples, and Buzzword. We play a lot games! :teeth:

My DH has lost his mind over the past several months and purchases over 15 board games. We've run out of room.
He started out by visiting a web site called boardgeek.com. This site gives lots of reviews of board games.
Since a lot of the popular games are not made or sold in America, he purchases all of them from funagaingames.com

The game that my in laws, and friends went crazy for is a game called Ticket to Ride.
I also like Mexican Train dominos, but I don't know many people who agree with me!

It's an older game, but it's really fun at parties. "Outburst" It's kind of like taboo but in reverse. You have to name 10 things about a category within an amount of time.

And a new one we just got is "apples to apples". Another word association game.

My family plays tons of games...we love many of those already listed along with Compatibility and Malarky. We have two versions of SceneIt...Disney and Harry Potter but there are plenty more to choose from. We also like to play card games like Uno, Slap, and Phase 10.

Scattergories is the BEST!!! Taboo is alot of fun too. We also played a board game the other night called "Loaded Questions" - we had a blast!

Balderdash and Things are both really good with a big group of people. Scattegories might be tough with 16.

Bunco or Cranium - there are different versions of Cranium like Turbo

Last time I played Balderdash was on NYE :drinking1 . It was absolutely hysterical. We were laughing so hard we were in tears by the end of the game.

OP: Mix Balderdash with some alcohol and bad spellers and you have a party on your hands.

Adding to the list for our group are Beat the Experts, Teams of Enemies, the 90s game (also available in the 80s and 70s), and a very large variety of tv trivia games

We had a blast playing Phase 10 and Apples to Apples at the last party we had. And like another poster said, just add some alcohol and things really get fun!
