Has anyone done these? Please describe the pros and cons. Are they functions that get booked up on the first day of general release, or are they totally booked even before? We have done some Vintners reserve and other dinners in the past, but looks like there are none on the dates we visit, was hoping for something upscale and special, dress up-parents night out.

We have done the PFTS twice and plan to do it this year. They do suggest it's a liitle dressy - not coat and tie, but no shorts or jeans. We love it! 20 chefs, 20 vineyards and it's a big cocktail party. You wander from food station to food station getting wonderful creations, then to wine stations to pick up a glass of wine. When you arrive they give you a plate with a cut out to hold a wine glass. There are some tables around the perimeter with chairs, and then also assorted "high" cocktail tables without chairs that you can stand at and eat. The first year it was just DH and I and we had as much fun joining people at the cocktail tables and meeting new people as we did eating. There are a couple great reviews at www.wdwig.com. Very detailed. I did a lunch and learn last year that we held at JIkos and losts of fun. The chefs prepare the food right in front of you. The Vintner talks about the wimes and you get a meal With it being at the odessey pavillion I'm not sure it will be as intimate as it was a JIKos. If you do a search on lunch and learn you can probably find some reviews here. PFTS accomodates a huge amount of people so there's not the urgency to make the reservation as the other things. There were only 6 L&L last year so they sold out quick (plus they were at Resorts so you didn't have to use a park pass) They usually don't charge you card right away and you can get a refund as long as you cancel a few days ahead. I would call and reserve, then you can always cancel if you decide not to go.
