Party Every Day - Updated 8/29/10

I was told there was no looking backward on Dumbo! Really?!?

I did it anyway... :rolleyes1

What in the world?! What a crazed rule. Those CMs must be on power trips!

Great Castle/Wishes shots and great update.

FYI, there is a WoWP movie coming out over here soon, is that also the same for you guys?

Thanks! Wooot for the Wizards movie! You must tune in! It's truly a gem of a film. :wizard:

I'm loving this trip report. You sound like you had a blast, and I'm having a blast reading about it. I love all the nods to Full House and that you guys know Mary Poppins songs by heart.

Thanks so much for reading! :woohoo: We are thrilled to be communicating with a fellow Full House fan. If you'd like more Full House references, you got it dude! :thumbsup2 For instance, if every word I said could make you laugh, I'd post this TR forever! :goodvibes

Absolutely wonderful pix!! The castle ones are amazing:thumbsup2 And I love seeing the close-ups of the Halloween decor.

Having fun reading about you guys having fun

And so what exactly was the discussion about Erica Kane that it lasted soooo long????? About her being paired up with Ryan Lavery?

Thanks! The Halloween decor was really nice - I loved being there when it was all up. Although now I can't believe that Halloween still hasn't passed! We celebrated it in DW over a month ago!

I don't remember the Erica Kane discussion at all, so Laura will have to explain about that one! But as the only actual AMC watcher of our group, I can say I am not pleased about this Erica Kane/ Ryan Lavery pairing! But then I hate him with Kendall too. I just want the rude old Greenlee back!

Happy Halloween!

From a too-excited-for-their-Twitpic-and-blurry Mickey and Minnie!

V cute pic, is great when you get character interaction like that :)

BTW, I am so in to Wizards of Waverly Place, watched the movie and the Disney Channel had a wizards v vampires night this weekend and I also have Wizards on Deck to watch :)

Just finished reading your 2008 trip report. We are going August/September 2010 for 3 weeks at the GF so I was really interested in the weather and queues etc. Can't wait to get up to date with this one.

Glad the last report was helpful! That's amazing that you're going to the GF for 3 weeks!! :yay: We'll be at the GF after Labor Day in 2010 (not sure of the exact date, but it's in my ticker ), so maybe we'll see you there!

We are finally back! Sorry for the delay, but now that the excitement of the World Series :cool1: is over, we're ready to get back on track and update away.

It's Jen here, and this day will be narrated by me. Enjoy!

We were particularly offended when our alarm beeped and beeped this morning. I hit the snooze button, but the alarm beeped no more after that, so I did not arise until about 15 minutes later when our back-up alarm, Liz's BlackBerry, started yelling at us. This posed quite the dilemma since I am normally the last one ready even with my 15 extra minutes each morning. :confused3

When we were finally ready, far later than we intended to be, naturally, we set out for the TTC in hope of some quick transport to the MK to deliver us in time for our 8:05 am Crystal Palace ADR. We knew the GF/ Poly launch didn't begin running until 30 minutes before park opening, so were hoping to hop on to a General Joe to avoid the monorails that had been disappointing us thus far. Well, as you may have predicted, we were outraged to learn that the General Joe and his fellow ships were still in repose at this apparently very early hour of the morning (approx 7:50 am), and that the express monorail was closed for business as well. Seriously? How much does it cost to run the express monorail? :headache:

Outraged, as per usual, we reluctantly trudged up the platform for the resort monorail. 15 minutes later, we had arrived at the MK.

We arrived at the entrance right at the time our ADR was for, which wasn't too bad considering how late we'd left and that our transportation options had been atroc. We stopped for a few quick pics on Main Street.

Really, Liz? Way to look pleased to be here. :rotfl:

Then checked in to the CP.

635.jpg

We were called in a few minutes later and escorted to a nice table decorated with confetti.

638.jpg

Much to the surprise and slight horror of Laura, I had indicated that we'd be celebrating her birthday that day. As it was less than a month from this date, I felt fine saying it was her birthday celebration (never said it was her actual birthday), as I've seen some people celebrate their children's birthdays for a whole trip when the birthdays are months away. Anyway, I did it for the CP since I'd seen their adorable table confetti and card signed by the Pooh gang (and knew that it was otherwise low-key, so there was little chance of Laura being completely mortified).

Shortly after our arrival, we had our first visitors – Pooh and then Eeyore.

Don’t know how/ why this pic is terribly blurry!

What? Self portraits are our fav! :lmao:

Then we went to load up at the buffet. Lovely flower Hundred Acre Woods gang:

Here are some pics of the buffet that I took just for you!

I love breakfast buffets, as you can eat at your own pace and there's a wide variety of foods. For example, one can happily overdose on sugar and carbs, while another goes for a much healthier selection.

One guess on which plate is mine and which is Laura's. :rolleyes1

655.jpg

656.jpg

Here's Liz's.

657.jpg

My second plate was a bit better (but mind you, this is the second plate ).

662.jpg

The food here was great. The hot food was hot and the fruit was very fresh. The whipped cream, however, tasted like Cool Whip. This was fine, since who really needs whipped cream with breakfast?

Over the course of our meal, we were visited by the rest of the residents of the Hundred Acre Woods (though I do wish Rabbit would be included in these events and outings. I feel I'm a kindred spirit to Rabbit.)

That's another great part of an 8 am CP breakfast - you can be out before 9.

While Liz was seeking medical attention for her tee, Laura and I were finishing our meals and settling the bill. Right after we asked for the bill, our server brought out Laura's card and a cupcake with a candle.

667.jpg

She blew out the candle and we left with the cupcake. Laura didn't want it, so we didn't inquire as to whether it would be safe with her nut allergy. But we knew a strawberry-stained girl who would want it! As Liz was still distraught over the misfortune she had suffered, the cupcake was a wonderful tool for placating her. She said the icing was delish - real buttercream, rather than the whipped cream that tops most DW cupcakes. She encouraged me to have a lick, so of course I did, and found her word to be truthful - it was lovely. :thumbsup2

Now that some of us were sufficiently sugared up, we were in the perfect state to wait at the Fantasyland rope and of course dash right to Peter right when it fell.

677.jpg

678.jpg

679.jpg

When we arrived, we were enthusiastically congratulated for being the first riders of the day and were escorted through the queue by a CM who loved it. We'd never received such a warm welcome for any of our first rides on Peter, and we of course loved it.

680.jpg

When we emerged, we thought of riding Dumbo, but it looked like we'd have to wait for two or three rides before we'd get on, and it was just too hot, so we moved along. Along to Pooh. Ah, we'd missed these friendly faces! It was a walk-on. Not much else to say about that experience, so moving on... to, the Frontier!

And on to the Frontier we marched!

It was so hot that we were certainly eager to ride Splash and scadooble along. Imagine our terror when we arrived in the area to see boat after empty boat floating by. :scared1: When we arrived at the queue entrance, our suspicion that Splash was malfunctioning was confirmed. We grabbed FPs and then waited around for a few minutes since the CMs didn't know when it would be back up and we really didn't have anything else we wanted to do at that point (did I mention it was blazing hot?).

Once we heard a train approaching, however, we climbed up to the platform to take it to Toontown where we thought we'd meet with some characters.

698.jpg

Stay tuned to find out if our plans materialize! "Cliffhanger" necessitated by my not having pics for the following portion sorted out, not because of any real dramatic situation.

This is my fav! I am so delighted that you liked that crazy pic and also that you love Wizards. :lovestruc

Yes am loving Wizards, Alex is my fav :)

Great update, I love CP and your pics are fab esp the Eeyore topiary/plant she looks so cute and lonely.

OMG!!! You took a pic of the Pooh's Breakfast Lasagna! I cannot wait to try this, have heard it is delish.

Glad Liz sorted her strawberry spot situation out, the perils of wearing white.

Awesome pics of Frontier Land, I love empty park pics.

Looking forward to hearing about Toontown :)

As I was once again scolded for my negligence of this delightful TR, I though I'd pop in for a few quick comments. Thanks to Delta for the free wi-fi on this horribly delayed MCO bound flight for making this commentary possible.

In regards to Erica Cane situation, I cannot seem to recall what had us so scared :scared1: I imagine it had little to do with the current AMC storyline. Out conversations do tend to wander off track on occasion. :confused3

I must say, that cupcake after the CP really did turn my frown upside down. I don't know why I wear white. It always ends in disaster. In fact, there is a stain on the sleeve of my blouse at this very moment thanks to the airport table I was leaning on earlier. I really must learn to carry a Tide stick.

I must say that I am so very unphotogenic. Poor DIS readers, you must think I am most disagreeable from seeing these photos!

Aside from being a grouch when its blazing out, I do hope I am not as much trouble as I seem to be in the photos!

Thanks! Yes, I love the CP and the topiaries, they're so cute! I didn't try the Breakfast Lasagna this time, but I had it last time and was disappointed - I think I thought it was too sweet, but I'd definitely suggest giving it a try.

And yes, I love taking pics of the parks when they're empty, so expect more photo-heavy early morning segments of this TR! :goodvibes

Yes, the Breakfast Lasagna is defo on my list of to trys for next year :)

I can completely relate to the white t-shirt and strawberry sauce situation. I can't wear white, either, and yet does that stop me? No. At least I have gotten in the habit of carrying Tide sticks, (2 at all times) but i have found some things that they do not work on. Mustard, for instance. Most importantly, though, it does seem to work consistently on coffee.

Sounds like a fun morning, so far! I hope you make it to Toon Town! I'm in so much suspense!!!

Tide sticks don't work on mustard or coffee?! Those are two very easily stain-causing items! Luckily Liz doesn't eat mustard or drink coffee, but I do!

Haha, I will try to end the suspense soon - I know that was the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers! :rotfl:

We're back and ready to solve the Toontown mystery!

Once we boarded the train, our conductor claimed we wouldn't be stopping in Toontown since it wasn't yet open (it was 9:45 at this point)! :scared1: To temper our displeasure, we took some pics.

699.jpg

701.jpg

No dancing!

All better

704.jpg

But when we pulled into the Toontown station, we saw that Toontown was of course open and were pleased to be allowed to depart. :woohoo: We checked the wait time for the fairies, and it was already posted as 45 minutes. We asked a CM if she thought it was accurate, and she said absolutely, so we said absolutely not and walked away. But we didn't walk far. Colors of the Wind was blasting in the absolutely empty gift shop, so as you can imagine, we had to stay for a dance party. :dance3: After we'd sufficiently danced our hearts out, we moved along, landing at the Indy Speedway. Liz refused to ride, so Laura and I hopped in the very short queue and away we rode. :car: We shared pedal duties, alternating when one of us couldn't take the unnatural muscle usage required to press down so hard on that pedal, and I steered, as I hardly ever bump the divider in the middle and Laura makes herself nauseas with her jerky driving skills. It was scorching hot in that little car, but a good time nonetheless.

717.jpg

Once we'd completed our race, we collected Liz from a bench outside of Cosmic Ray's and proceeded to a ride that was more her pace, the TTA, of course!

725.jpg

This exciting, high-paced thriller had us itching for more, and we were really wishing Space were open (even though we generally complain about what a jerky atrocity it is). Since a ride on Space was not to be, we decided to try our luck at a ride on Splash.

We walked through the hub and Adventureland to get there.
