Party Every Day - Updated 8/29/10

Great report so far, just found it. You girls seem to be having such a dancetastically good time. ( I just made that word up )

Cannot wait to hear more about the trip.

Thanks - glad you found us! :goodvibes And dancetastic is a great made-up word to describe our trip! :dance3:

Back with a short update after wrestling with Photobucket earlier!

We were ready to use our TSM FPs, so we exited that great attraction. Unfortunately, though, Edward spotted us walking by the entrance! He was so upset that we were already headed out. :sad1: Edward stated, “you can’t just make my day and then walk out 30 seconds later!” We apologized and told him we were retrieving Jen who had been in there for ages, and he accepted that excuse! :rotfl:

We jumped into the TSM queue, and once we got upstairs, guess who we spotted?! OUR BFFS! The marines! :woohoo: We were like, OMG it’s our friends, and then they spotted us and started waving away! :wave2: It was so good, and we chatted about how we keep running into each other. They were truly great, and we’re hoping they Dis or Twitter so we can reconnect!

Then, we decided to have our first Delicias! We’d never call something a pineapple bar, so we were glad that the Delicias already conveniently came with a name that’s crazed enough for us. :thumbsup2 We also saw Henry, a white guy from China. He was a very good CM, and the best Delicias associate we could ever ask for!

We headed back to the Poly, after our treat, and unfortunately, Wizards wasn’t even on, and Oprah’s ep was too scary! There was absolutely nothing else on television, so we had to settle for Arthur. This turned out to be most fortuitous, because we had the greatest sighting. We were absolutely shocked and amazed when we spotted a child on this series wearing a tie-dye Dylan McKay tee!!! :lmao: It was beautiful, and we desperately need one. We were also delighted to see some of our shoes lined up beautifully by Mousekeeping!

1112.jpg

We monorailed it over to the GF at about 5 for a dinner at the GF Café.

We walked over to the Poly’s main building to catch the monorail, and Jen took some pics along the way.

We had lots of FPs left over from our morning, so we dropped those off at the GF bus stop hoping someone headed to MGM could pick them up and use them and then headed in for our dinner. :wizard:

We stopped to admire the new GF floor and were completely awestruck by the Peter Pan portion! :lovestruc

We had a few crazed CMs at the podium of the GF Café checking us in, who were brilliant because they loved our costuming! However, I think they were appalled by our shorts or something, for they were comparing us to Paris Hilton. :confused3 I can’t quite recall the rest of the convo, but it was pretty much the oddest convo we’ve had with CMs! :lmao:

There weren’t any vegetarian, nut free items, so I had a specially made pasta with vegetables. Liz had it, as well! Sadly, we requested spinach and it was missing, but other than that it was okay. Not our fav spot, but fine. Here are some food pics:

Here are some MNSSHP costume preview pics!

We hope to be back soon to tell about MNSSHP!

Lol, I love your MNSSHP costumes, so cute :)

That must have been one lucky guest to have stumbled across your FP's, esp the TSM ones :)

Loving the pics of Poly (oh to be there now) and GF, the floor looks amazing :)

Can't wait to read about MNSSHP, I just know its going to be good :)

Thanks - I loved those costumes! They were so easy to make, and comfy too!

As I'm looking back at my pics, I'm definitely dreaming of being at the Poly or GF right now! I've had enough of this winter stuff! :rotfl:

Tell me about it, we have had snow for the last two weeks, although now its raining and the snow appears to be melting.

Those costumes were a great idea and, like you said, looked easy to put together :)

Yeah, this winter stuff is the worst! The last of our snow melted in the rain yesterday, but I bet more snow isn't far behind.

And, here's MNSSHP! Writing is by me. I may not be as hilarious as my sister, but I can crank out a TR chapter pretty quickly!

After our meal, we monorailed over to the MK for MNSSHP. It was about 6 pm at this point. Much to our terror, rain began to fall just as we were emerging from the monorail! :scared1: We had to cover our lovely costumes with our ponchos, then zoomed through security and through the gates, grabbed our treat bags, and hid from the rain in the train station. We ran up to the top of the train station in hopes of taking the train to Toontown so we could wait to meet Mickey and Minnie, but it turned out the train wasn’t running! :confused3

1168.jpg

1172.jpg

It was really pouring at this point, so we stayed up under the nice covered train station for quite a while. By the time 6:30 was approaching, we decided we’d better get a move on to get in line for Mickey. Mickey and Minnie were our top priorities for pics, so we thought we’d go back to Mickey’s tent first, and then find Minnie (we thought she might also be in the tent with Mickey since it was raining – it turned out we were right, and we didn’t then have to wait in another line at Minnie’s gazebo! :thumbsup2).

We ran up Mainstreet, through the shops and under the awnings, and then through Tomorrowland to get back to Toontown while staying as dry as possible. We made a stop in the bathroom near the Tomorrowland Noodle Station, and took these glamorous pics :cool2::

We got back to the judge’s tent shortly after 6:30, and there were fewer than 10 groups ahead of us. We were let into the room with Mickey and Minnie just a few minutes after 7, and were delighted to see them! Although we had waited 30 minutes, we were not displeased in the least, since it was pouring outside, and we did not want to be there at all.

When we got into the tent with Mickey and Minnie, Mickey was getting his bowtie readjusted by a crazed CM named Bryan. Mickey’s bowtie fell off repeatedly during our time in the tent, and Mickey was so adorable, getting all embarrassed and running over his minders to redress him. :lmao:

When we got up to meet Mickey and Minnie, we asked one of the CMs to take a picture with Liz’s Blackberry for Twitter. Mickey, Minnie, and the gang of CMs there got so delighted that we would be tweeting a pic! :yay: Mickey and Minnie did the craziest poses, and everyone involved insisted upon us taking about 20 pics. It was certainly the greatest character encounter we’ve had – we loved it!

We emerged from our delightful meeting and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was no longer raining. We took a quick peek inside the main tent, and I was so pleased to find Perla there! :woohoo: I had met Susie last year, so it was grand to meet her friend (since I adore the Cinderella mice :lovestruc).

With the rain having stopped, we had the perfect opportunity to head through Alice’s trick-or-treat trail.

We started with a pic with Alice and then saw some other characters and got some cheap candy. It was a pretty good time.

A little bit-o-honey for our Pooh :goodvibes:

We emerged from the treat trail to find a ragin’ party, blasting one of our fav tunes, “Fire Burnin’”! :yay: How inappropriate for this tune to be blasting in Tomorrowland, but what a delight, we thought! :rotfl: We immediately danced on over, following the music to a stage with a DJ set up near the carousel (of Progress, that is). Goofy and Pluto decked out in insane costumes were mingling with the crowd of moms and very small children. We got right up in there and were dancing our hearts out when Pluto danced right over and enjoyed the majority of the tune with us. :dance3: Pluto had some pretty sweet moves, and it was a wonderful time! :lmao: We did indeed burn up that dance floor. We stayed around for a few more tunes, including the monster mash, that “oh, oh, it’s magic” tune by one of Laura’s top artists, Selena Gomez, the hand jive, and the hokey pokey.

It was insanely hot and humid at this point, so all of our crazy dancing eventually led to our overheating. We headed over to another treat trail outside of John Carousel’s door, where we got some more cheap candy, and somewhere else in Tomorrowland, we picked up Star Wars tune-singing spin toothbrushes. I almost had to use one the other day, but then luckily found a normal spinbrush in the back of the closet. :rotfl:

Once we’d collected our strange loot from Tomorrowland, we decided to head over to Fantasyland to check out the other dance party we saw on our special MNSSHP maps. Since our Mickey and Minnie meet and greet and our Tomorrowland dance parties had been such delights, we decided to focus on doing the special MNSSHP activities rather than going on rides, which all appeared to be walk-ons throughout the evening. Once we entered Fantasyland, we saw a meeting area with Piglet and Tigger set up over near Pooh’s Playful Spot, so we hopped in line and were meeting our costume-sakes in just a few minutes. :tigger: The characters loved our costumes, but unfortunately their minders took some pretty poor photos.
We left our Hundred Acre Woods’ friends and ventured further into Fantasyland, where the sounds of one of our top childhood tunes, “Loveshack,” welcomed us to the Fantasyland dance party! :dancer: There, we found Donald dressed as a pumpkin and Daisy dressed as a medieval princess dancing it up.

After about one tune, our BFFs Mickey and Minnie entered the dance floor. They immediately walked over to us and pretended to be tweeting! It was the best. We were so pleased that our same pals happened to leave their posts in Toontown and come over to our dance party! party: We danced for a while, and Mickey and/ or Minnie would come over by us whenever the children dancing got bored with them. The dance party crowds were pretty great – just a handful of young children at each party, and then parents standing around the perimeter, which is where we pretty much stayed.

However, soon a conga line began, that we were not intending to participate in, as most of the participants were under the age of 7. Well, our BFF Mickey, who was leading the line, had other ideas. He pulled us right in, in front of him, and forced us to be the leaders of the conga line! It was hilarious and awesome. Here he is, approaching to grab us to pull us in:

We even got a great pic, which is one of my favs, even though I look gross and sweaty (because it was about 200 degrees in that dance party, which was under an awning).

Sadly, we had to leave our BFFs as the time for Hallowishes approached. We made our way down to the hub, and got a nice spot in the front hub right in front of the castle. We thought Hallowishes was pretty cool, but it was really scary! We are not fans of villains or scariness of any kind, so it wasn’t really our fav.

During Hallowishes, I remembered that the princesses in Toontown would have their princes with them, another special MNSSHP treat, so we headed back there after the fireworks. We walked right in and met ourselves some princes and princesses.

We walked through Fantasyland, and made another stop at the Pooh area to meet Pooh and Eeyore. Eeyore was of course depressed that none of us were dressed as him, but we assured him that he was too good for us to emulate, and then got a nice group pic just with him. This offended Pooh, but then Laura got a solo pic with him, which seemed to placate him. :rotfl: Boy, it’s hard work keeping that Hundred Acre Woods’ gang happy. ;)

We stopped for a minute in Pooh’s playful spot, but then moseyed on when we realized it was time to get a spot for the Boo to You parade.

We watched the parade from Frontierland. I really liked it, but Liz and Laura found it too frightening in some spots. :scared1: During the Haunted Mansion segment, they ducked into the pin shop, where a CM flipped out because she loved their costumes and then kept watch to let them know when the Haunted Mansion portion was ended and they could safely return to watch the parade.

Once the parade had finished, we wandered back into Adventureland and found ourselves right outside of Pirates, so we decided to take a spin.

Following Piracy, we were welcomed in to a treat trail inside of that pirate makeover shop, a delight since I had been wanting to see inside of it, but certainly not wanting to participate in a pirate makeover. :thumbsup2

We walked back over to Frontierland, and I stopped for some fries at that cart in the back since I was starving following all of our crazy dancing (and our early dinner). I also finally got a shot of Cinderella’s coach, after we had passed it a few times this night with people in front of it every second.

1371.jpg

We made our way back to Fantasyland, where we found no queues for Peter or Dumbo, so we rode both.
We then made our way out of the MK right around midnight, and returned back to the Poly without incident (a true delight for us!).

Next up: an early trek to the jungle.

NOT ABSURD! Anyone who's ever experienced a bedbug infestation will know that precautions such as yours and response such as Didnry'd is NOT ABSURD. Do you know how difficult and EXPENSIVE remediation is?

Oh, yes - we were mightily disturbed! We thought it was absurd that the front desk CMs were making us examine the bug, rather than them moving us right away and sending someone up to deal with whatever infestation was going on.

Wow that looked like an awesome night, you guys had so much fun and utilised your time really well. Great character interactions and pics :) Mickey looks quite dapper in his suit.

So were you well paced out, or did you find you had to rush a bit at times?

1. I'll say it again....You wacky dames! Not only do you look like you're having a blast, but you're making me look bad as I still haven't finished day 1 on my TR.

2.

Uh oh...then you're not going to like our upcoming plan. To be a Grand Gathering, you have to pick something to celebrate, and though it's not in stone yet, it looks like my merry band of 9 will be choosing to celebrate Disney villains. I've called Lady Tremaine.

We really didn't have to rush at all - it was actually one of our most relaxed park experiences! :thumbsup2 I think getting to a character (that you know will have a long line and that you really want to meet) about 30 minutes before the party starts is a great way to save time. We only really wanted to meet Mickey and Minnie and the Pooh gang, and easily got those accomplished. If we'd wanted to meet Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, or see the Villians show, we just probably wouldn't have gotten to ride the few rides we did at the end, but I think we could have fit them all in. We also probably could have done less dancing if we needed to, but those dance parties were the best! :rotfl:

Hahah, wait, what? You have to declare a celebration to be considered a Grand Gathering? That is so weird! And instead of claiming you are celebrating a birthday, or reunion or something, you can declare that you are celebrating certain Disney characters? :lmao: That is my fav!

Great updates! MNSSHP sounded like a blast for you guys. I like your decision to enjoy the festivities rather than ride the rides.
I'm shocked to see the Peter Pan scene on the floor in the GF resort! We were just there and didn't even notice it! We're huge Peter Pan fanatics, so I'm so disappointed with us that we missed that.
By the way, the Cinderella you guys met at MNSSHP I think is the same one we just met at 1900 PF. She was a very sweet Cinderella.
I'm glad you're still updating! I look forward to more!

Those dance parties did look like alot of fun. We want to do everything and are thinking about doing the party twice. Once for the rides in the dark and second for all the special Halloween parts, like Snow White and the Villians.

Looking forward to more :)
