Three months from now, I'll probably be fine-tuning my touring plan because I'll only have a week until my trip!

Terri -- I haven't made the board yet, so it's a bit flexible. What I had in mind originally was either gluing small envelopes or little ring boxes to a sheet of bristol board, with the gifts inside each one. All the things I have so far would fit in a normal sized ring box. I like the idea of Disney ornaments in there; if I can find some mini's they would be perfect for the little desk top tree he has in his room each year. Thanks for the tip on Michaels too...I'll have a look there :)

A little off topic but I'm feeling like crud today. But I'm having tea out of my WDW refillable mug from our last trip and it's making things all better. Hope everyone has a good day

Must be going around today..I felt so 'blah' today too. I have my tea in my refillable mug too sometimes, it always cheers me up :coffee: When we were at WDW in Dec 2010 there were PP photographers at Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian when we visited those resorts for meals.

srauchbauer -- I think your surprise will be way better than the countdown calendar! Are you planning to record the reaction?

ses1230 -- Thanks for sharing that!

I have a question about trip reports -- do people normally do them while on the trip, or more after they return? Why are they done over such a long period of time? Is it to build anticipation? Are they meant to be suspenseful? lol -- I should probably go read a few more, but I stayed up way too late last night, it took me 2 hrs to read just one!

3 months from now I'll be so jealous of all of you who leave earlier in the month and dyingfor my departure date to come along.

Am I the only one who had trouble seeing ADR`s online? They were there originally but everytime I'm on the the Disney site now it says 'we are having trouble with our reservation system' - I had the same issues on previous trips too - is it just me?

Most people do a TR after they return. A rare few will do what they call a "Live TR" from WDW. I could never do that. As far as how long it takes to complete a TR, that all depends on the author. Some like to draw it out and others like to get it over with fast and then there's those of us that just write when we have time.

I've never had an issue with the ADR online system. In fact I just used it to book a few ADR's just a few hours ago.

Has anyone eaten at Grand Floridian Cafe? DH want to eat lunch at GF before MVMCP but I've never eaten there. Thoughts?

Just catching up but wanted to say we went last year and we will NEVER go again. It is the only Disney restaurant I will not return to. We had a 12:30 pm ADR and we were seated at 1:30pm. A waitress came at 1:50 for drink and food orders...the drinks came at 2:15pm and the food at 2:45 pm. It was horrific! The food was fine but the service horrible. not a single drink refill and I had two small children with me in need of their milk. We asked for drinks over five times and still it took 20 minutes for the drinks to come. This was on a Sunday.

We did ours as a video trip report...just so we had a momento and I like doing video montages. Just another option versus a written report.

That is real cool. I actually stayed in this suite once. About a decade ago. we did a lot of business this as we held our company's monthly training seminars and I was the Director at the time. I came to observe a seminar and they upgraded my room as we were in negotiations whether to continue using their property or try elsewhere. It was beautiful with a grand or baby grand piano in the middle of the living room. I felt bad that I was there alone and only for one night!!! We did hold a meeting at the dining room table though so it got a little use! HA!

Not sure about recording with the camcorder but I will have the camera ready and set to go. I got the approval yesterday from the school principal for the kids to miss a couple days of school. We have a great principal she believes that traveling is also a great form of education (yes even disney).

I called my county education board and asked about my DD (6th grade) taking a week out before christmas. They were great. Told me that they felt it was an important opportunity that shouldn't be missed for my DD to see Disney at Christmas with her family. They sent an email to our Principal to let her know my DD would be out and that it had been ok'd :)

Yes!! I have been so jealous of everyone else. :lmao: I can't imagine planning a wedding AND a Disney trip. This fall will fly by for you two!!

I'm torn between wanting it to happen NOW and freaking out that we need more prep time for the wedding. Haha

:confused3

I hope I get as favorable a reaction as you two have! I am anticipating great discouragement from our principal. I wasn't going to say anything until early November/late October, though.

Three months and one week from now, my partner and I will be STUFFED from our breakfast at 'Ohana, have gone to rope drop at MK, and will be enjoying a looooooong day at the park.
