My husband's relatives are part time FL residents and have part time FL resident driver's licenses. Are they eligible for the Florida resident tickets and rates?

Never heard of part time licenses, but, if they have and address and a FL license that matches that FL address then they are eligable.

Thanks Gail. Yeah, I guess they are mainly for retirees that live part of the year down there.

Sorry there is no such thing as a part time or Snowbirds drivers license. It does sound like they have a Fla Drivers license or a Fla id. As long as they have a Fla address on one of the following they can receive the resident discount.

Florida driver's license

Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)

Current utility statement with your name and Florida address along with a corresponding picture ID

Florida voter's registration card with corresponding picture ID

A college ID for a Florida college

Florida-based military ID

FL Driver's License does not have to have a Florida address...I know because mine does not. But we never have trouble buying FL Resident Passes since it's a Driver's License.

You do, however, have to have a pretty good reason to get a FL Driver's License with a non-Florida address on it, which is determined by the state, not Disney. In our case, we are military and maintain legal residency in Florida, so our driver's licenses, voting cards, etc. must be FL and our cars must be registered in FL.

Pretty small exception to the rule, but it may help some out there who don't know about it. I believe this is the same type of exception given topart-time residents. They are allowed to put out-of-state addresses on their licenses, too, so they are eligible to buy passes.

A FL ID card must have a FL address, though. This is because anyone can get an ID...you don't have to be a resident to get one, so Disney adds the FL address requirement.

Katie, FL resident, currently living in Virginia :D

Ok, my sister owns a condo in FL so she has a utility bill in her name but her photo id will have an OH address. Can she get FL res. tickets?

If it's a FL driver's license, YES, she can.
If it's a FL ID card (or anything from any other state), NO, she can't.

Quoted from the Disney website:

Proof of Florida residency is required -- you must provide any one of the following:
• Florida driver's license
• Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address)
• Current utility statement with your name and Florida address along with a corresponding picture ID
• Florida voter's registration card with corresponding picture ID
• A college ID for a Florida college
• Florida-based military ID

I think by "corresponding" that may mean having the same name and address as the utility statement, but that I have not checked
on that since I use the driver's license for my proof of residency. You can always call guest services and ask someone there...get it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.
Good luck
Katie

My inlaws live in Fla. part time but there permanent address is in Michigan. Since they have an electric bill in their name, in Fla., they were able to obtain a Fla. ID ( not a drivers liscense) which makes them eligible for a Fla. res. rate at disney. Hope that helps. Also, they were issued there ID cards at the time they applied for them. Did not have to wait for it to be mailed.

Part-time residents can get a Florida license without giving up their "home" state license. The Florida license will say "valid in Florida only".

Also, "corresponding" doesn't mean the addresses have to match. We activated our FL resident AP's before my husband got his license changed. He showed them the electric bill (from FL, with his name and our new FL address) and his Maine license, and they took it with no questions.

Same here. We had just moved to Florida and didn't have Florida drivers license. We showed our Texas drivers license for our picture ID and utility (elec. and phone bill) with our name and Florida address on those.

They did ask if we had school IDs for my two teenage sons but we didn't have any. This was in the summer and they wouldn't have even been enrolled in FL schools yet, so we showed them their Orange County FL library cards. I didn't think they needed ID for minors so I was surprised they asked to see anything for them.

Thanks! I guess it's best to take a utility bill just in case, but since they rent, I don't know if there will be one. Will pass along the info. I e-mailed Disney with the same question, but they just sent the list that is posted about their requirements.

Yes she can. We own a house in Florida - we use a utility bill (which has our name & Florida address on it) and for photo id we use a British passport. Never any problem at all getting discounts for Disney tickets or the 'Florida resident' offers.
