We'll be there Dec 2-7 and was wondering if there is free dining around that time... I'm hoping NOT lol I've heard about how the restaurants gets all crazy and junk and would love if we didn't have to deal with that

I am pretty sure it was not offered the first week of December. Perhaps to some people via email, but I don;t think as a mass offer to the public.

Ok, I'm thinking of checking out Sears/Kmart, Target and JCPenny for luggage. I've already checked Kohls but they're kinda pricey and Walmart whose selection is very limited. Can anyone think of any other stores for me to look in? I don't want to order online b/c I want to see it personally rather than just a picture. I also don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it either (ex. Samonsite).

I've always had good luck at TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Burlington Coat Factory. They usually have nicer stuff marked down to reasonable prices.

While its not offered for those checking in those dates, there will be a lot of people using it those dates. As long as you check in by Nov 29 you got free dining and can use it your whole stay. I'm there Nov 29-Dec 4 and have FD. So you're not in the clear just because its not offered for those checking in those dates.

all this talk of plans and spread sheet makes me feel like I must be the most unorganized person going!....I do have a few ADRs so I know that on those days we will be at those parks, but other than that, guess we will punt. Am I crazy?....not sure,but it works for my family and kids that seem to change their minds and moods! Oh and 2 MONTHS from today we will be on our way!

Happy Thursday everybody, I am excited booked the new Segway tour for 12/11/2012 at 8:30. It sounded like there was a lot of availability for that week when I called this morning. Now I have to move some of my parks around. So thrilled to be going on this tour after so many of you guys sold it lol. I also got the 20% off with the Disney visa. I paided 168.10 for me and hubby. That's great considering it includes free breakfast and a exclusive pin as well as a two hour tour around the an empty world showcase. Now to rearrange my plans and ADRs. It helps pass the time.....

I picked up a 27" Forecast suitcase from Sears last year for like $60. It came with a small carry on and a shoulder bag too. It's survived a trip to Disney and a trip to Oaxaca so far and is still going strong!

I started to gather some things around the house in a bag that we'll be taking with us. I have Bonine ( want to make sure I can do all the thrill rides with DH), a Tide to go pen, travel size lotions, anti-bac, and a few other things.

I think it's wise to do some pre-packing. I travel a lot and think I have everything down, but last weekend we went to Yellowstone for about the millionth time and I forgot my hat. Dumb.

Forget staying at WDW when you can stay at Orlando's finest!

LOL! I just love that picture- I adore all things retro like that. If I had the money I would renovate that thing and turn it into a set right out of Vegas or Mad Men . However, from people's reactions here I suppose I'd pretty much have to gut and fumigate it?

Best to just report the situation and request a new room if you do find bed bugs.

I'm so paranoid about bed bugs I make the family put all the luggage up on racks, the desk or in the bathtub, even if the room seems clear of them!

Sorry I didn't mean to freak everyone out! I hate snakes too hence why I check.

I really appreciate the heads-up. My husband has killed rattlesnakes in our backyard, so other snakes don't freak me out as long as I know they might be there.

The con for the 9:00pm show is the one that I'd worry about... is there a time difference from where you are currently and WDW? When we went to a Cirque show a few years ago, I picked the latest show and ended up asleep!! OMG, I was sooooo mad, those tickets weren't cheap and I had missed half the show. We were exhausted from days of being on the go and the time change did us in.

If you know this won't be an issue - go with the later show. Sounds to me like this would be the more relaxing route and you'll enjoy it more versus rushing around everywhere trying to fit it all in.

Oh, I can relate to that. I bought the entire family tickets to STOMP! and believe it or not, my youngest fell asleep. He still hasn't lived that one down.

At least you didn't fall asleep while ten people were smashing trashcan lids together!

Frankly, I've had so many airlines and cruise lines ruin really expensive luggage that I'm not sure just buying cheap stuff isn't the better way to go anymore. It doesn't hurt so much when the idiot baggage handlers break the frame on a piece from an $80 5-piece cheapo set, but when they break a $500 piece of Samsonite -

I think expensive luggage makes makes a person into a target, as well.

I have an ancient little Eddie Bauer rolling bag that hardly has a scratch on it after 15 years. But last year, we bought two expensive Red Oxx bags and the first day we used them, my husband had his stolen (right out of the trunk of the car, in Ireland of all places). So I gave him my new bag and now I'm happily back to my old Eddie Bauer. I think old luggage wards off thievery. I would be heartbroken if someone took my suitcase, 'cause my shoes are in it!

How does one check for bed bugs?

I pull back the sheets from all 4 corners and check for bugs and or blood stains (gross, I know). I also check the drawers as they are sometimes in there. We leave our luggage on the bathroom floor until we are done checking. I am sure some people are more thorough, but we haven't come across anything yet.

Anyway, quick question. Since losing 20lbs my wonderful DH decided he wanted me to get some leggings. So, I got a pair, they actually look pretty good! Got a cute Disney top to go with, now, shoes....

Besides the normal tennis shoes a lot of people wear, which don't look right with leggings, what other kinds of shoes do ladies wear in the parks? I never pay attention to that kind of thing. I had picked out a pair of the Crocs loafer type canvas shoes but they are too big & don't come any smaller. Any advice?

I just got a Samsonite 24" suitcase from Marshalls for $70.

Unfortunately, no. Pop Warner is always the first week of December and FD is always blacked out. The only way for you to get it would be to check in the day before Pop Warner or the day after it ends. If you check in before, you will have FD for your entire stay.

We managed to get FD this year b/c our check in date is 11/29 and the black out week for Pop is I think either 11/30 or 12/1 (not sure on the start date) and ends on 12/9.

ETA: Looks like the FD promotion may be over for this year. I just checked Disney's site and it's not even listed anymore.

They made a ballet flat style one now. They're a little pricier than the normal Toms, but better arch support and more "stylish" than the typical Toms style.

Actually, it opened up to the GP a few months ago, I think. We took advantage of it the day it became available and our TA was on the phone with Disney for 3 hours to make sure we got it applied to our package.

I was trying to look back on my subscribed threads and couldn't find the thread that had it nor can I find the actual thread through the regular search methods. It's like the whole thread has disappeared

No help with the shoes, but congrats on the weight loss!! I weighed in today and have lost 7.4 total. Hope to be down 20 before the trip.
