Morning all! :coffee:

So, opinions, if you please. Our last night I want to do La Nouba. Planning on going to MK that day. I'm trying to decide between the 6:00 or the 9:00 show. It's not something I can change once I commit, so I'm nervous!

6:00
Pros: Could conceivably catch one last round of fireworks at the TTC if we haul once the show is over.
Cons: Less time at MK, dinner would be late and possibly rushed.

9:00
Pros: Can stay at MK right up to MVMCP starts if we want, or could get some shopping in at DTD. Dinner would be more leisurely.
Cons: Might be uber sleepy, no chance for one more round of fireworks.

Whaddya all think?

And I can't ask Mom, because this is supposed to be a surprise addition to the trip.

Abby and I went with the 6PM showing, figuring we'd enjoy a night at DTD after the show. We're doing dinner at T-Rex after, and then will spend some time wandering around before heading back to our resort.

Plus, La Nouba has a lot of things going on at once. I think if you are tired when you go to it, you'd probably miss parts of the show that you'd pick up on if you were more awake.

The con for the 9:00pm show is the one that I'd worry about... is there a time difference from where you are currently and WDW? When we went to a Cirque show a few years ago, I picked the latest show and ended up asleep!! :headache: OMG, I was sooooo mad, those tickets weren't cheap and I had missed half the show. We were exhausted from days of being on the go and the time change did us in.

If you know this won't be an issue - go with the later show. Sounds to me like this would be the more relaxing route and you'll enjoy it more versus rushing around everywhere trying to fit it all in.

We've done a couple "booked and planned in less than 2 months" trips. One was DH & I. We had a general plan same as always and a few ADRs ( Sanaa, Yachtsman, R&C, Via Napoli, HoB). DH, DD & I also did our last trip booked only a couple weeks out - during spring break even. Had ADRs at LC (lunch), CP dinner, RFC @AK. Both were fun and not planned any differently than others where we've known a year or more out about the trip :goodvibes: The main difference was not booking ADRs at 180 days

We planned our first one 5 days out. (Already had airfare.) We did two days at MK (plus one at Discovery Cove) including MNSSHP, got a discount on ASMu Family Suite and scored CP at 8:15am. That as in late Oct. when we got back we started planning a 10-day trip for lat Jan, so 3 months out. We made several ADRs for that trip, but our favorites are mostly not the popular places so we did well. Did the chef's table at FF, late dinner at Akershus and breakfast at Tusker House. Last trip we went for F&W when I got an unexpected bonus at work, maybe two months out. This trip as planned a year out, a huge change.

Hello everyone!

I am new to the DIS but not new to WDW. Im going for my third time this year in dec. i will be Fla from dec 21- jan 1 but i wont be in disney every single day. But i will certainly get my fix!! In all the times ive been, i have never been for Christmas! Bought my MVMCP tickets. Is there any other fun things i must do with my dad (who im going with) while im "home" for the holidays? I want to do as much as possible!
I was also wondering if there were any special christmas, NYE or any winter special events or dinners any where? other than osborne lights and the candle light... My mom usually plans the vaca so im new at doing it my self!
HELP!!

Welcome to the DIS and welcome to our Christmas thread - honoured that your first post is here :goodvibes

I suggest the first thing you do is read post #2 - it is full of info for the Holiday Season. Special Events include Osbourne Lights (DHS) Candlelight Processional (Epcot) Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party (MK) then you have other worthwhile smaller events like the Winter Lights of Cinderellas Castle around 6pm nightly, touring the resorts to see their christmas decorations ....

You have come to the right place, we can definitely help you :thumbsup2

Snakes? In rooms? *** I would die.

This Summer... In a WORLD full of snakes... ONE man has said "ENOUGH!"...

Samuel L. Jackson stars in: Snakes On A Plane 2: Snakes In My Room

"Hello... Front desk. How may I help you?"

"I'M TIRED OF THESE MICKEY HUGGIN' SNAKES IN MY MINNIE HUGGIN' ROOM!!!!"

This time... He's wearing mouse ears.

I should not have read this while eating, as I started laughing so hard I started choking! :rotfl. This is great.

Val, how is the quality of the luggage you ordered and which ones did you order? I went to Walmart and wasn't too happy with how thin the luggage was as as well as the lack of choices. We need to get two medium size suitcases for our trip but I don't want to pay in the $200+ range for each one.

Oh I am sure it is super cheap quality. LOL. I got this luggage in red. We rarely fly so I didnt need something great. I just wanted something cheap with wheels. I didn't really look at it when it arrived. DH just took it out of the box so it could air out before I fill them up.

:lmao: I'm going to have to stop reading this roll call at work if this keeps up. At this rate my co-workers are going to think I've gone nuts I've been laughing so hard!!!

I personally would do the 9:00 show and eat dinner first. But I agree with PP, you want to be awake for the show so that should factor into the decision.

Well, my partner isn't sure if she wants to do the mermaid thing at The Pirates League. Ha! I figure I can always cancel whenever, and I'm glad I have it in case she wants to do it, since one of the days I was looking at was already completely booked.

Good points. And wandering around DTD is always fun!

No time difference, it'll just be the end of the trip. :) Hmm.

Frankly, I've had so many airlines and cruise lines ruin really expensive luggage that I'm not sure just buying cheap stuff isn't the better way to go anymore. It doesn't hurt so much when the idiot baggage handlers break the frame on a piece from an $80 5-piece cheapo set, but when they break a $500 piece of Samsonite - :scared:

I've had two suitcase casualties in the past two trips... I buy cheap luggage now. :crazy2:

Ok, I'm thinking of checking out Sears/Kmart, Target and JCPenny for luggage. I've already checked Kohls but they're kinda pricey and Walmart whose selection is very limited. Can anyone think of any other stores for me to look in? I don't want to order online b/c I want to see it personally rather than just a picture. I also don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it either (ex. Samonsite).

Thank you so much for the advice! I really want the best possible view of Wishes so I'm leaning towards the Poly beach!

I thought I remember recently reading on easywdw.com that Josh actually recommended the TTC spot (where ferry leaves) as even being a better spot than Poly. Don't have time right now to search, but found that to be an interesting recommendation. I think he said they pipe music there too.

Anyone confirm?

Ooo...that sounds like it would be really nice.

Ugh! I don't want to wait 8 weeks to be in Disney World!

My mom bought me an inexpensive 4 piece set from Walmart last year. It's held up through two moves back and forth to Florida, plus being used for laundry baskets and lugging groceries on the bus every week.
