Maybe that's two different restaurants? Isn't it Maya Grill at CSR?

Yes, it's "Maya Grill" Don't mind me and my spelling....I'm just exhausted, frustrated and confused tonight:rotfl2:

As someone mentioned a while ago, not all websites (menus) can be trusted, unfortunately!

For now, I switched our ADR to Boatwrights at POR....

Announcing the winner of levenhopper's awesome "Guess the Roll Caller Count as of 10/17 9pm EST" contest

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

There are 424 roll callers, and nickle831 guessed 423!

If the number seems lower than what I had posted earlier, let me explain. A dis'er on this board PM'd me to say there were some duplicates. I decided to literally do a search for each name (took me an hour) so as to clean up the Roll Call and not count people who were going twice in December. I also wanted to ensure I counted where two people were going together.

Congrats nickle831. I am sure levenhopper will PM you shortly to work out the details.

A HUGE thank you to levenhopper for generously donating the prize! :grouphug:

Wooooo!!

WedgieSock *also* may be dressed as a bright pink muppet- she is currently in contact with legal and imagineering to verify she is not violating any trademarked character ;)

Papers are currently being exchanged, reviewed and amended; photos of items have submitted along with a picture of me with a big cheesy :teeth: The general consensus from the Disney Board was 'what the ....:scared:?!?!?' so I'm sure I am not crossing any lines when it comes to possibly being mistaken for any known trademarked character.

I'm going to be so warm .... and furry .... and pink :upsidedow

In general, I think snakes are more likely (but still not very common) in ground floor rooms. If this is a problem, just request an upper floor room.

I agree. I mean, when do you ever see a snake going upstairs :confused3

We have snakes here in GA (I'm from London, the nearest we get to a snake is a worm) and they are ok, often bump into them in the garden. They will run (slither?) from you. They can be quite sweet - my Mum has two as pets (she's weird).

Honestly, I lived in Orlando for eight months and NEVER had a snake or other critter come into my living space. I've seen two snakes at International Gateway that pest control was called for. Palmetto bugs are gross, but harmless. Unless the person in the tower at the Contemporary was on the ground floor, I have no earthly idea how a snake would have gotten into their room. I've stayed in ground floor rooms at ASMux2 and CSR, as well as upper floor rooms at AKV, BCV, OKW, ASSp, and POFQ, and again, have never encountered a snake in my room, or bed bugs, for that matter.

Same here. I've been here (atlanta suburbs) for 8 years and snakes are common BUT I have never had one in our house and I have never heard of anyone else finding them in their house. I've encountered 3 garter snakes in my backyard and they have scarpered pronto and I see the odd one out on the road. We have water moccasins but I've never seen one.

We've had a bunch of garter snakes in our neighborhood. And some not to nice snakes too - one of my neighbors was bitten by a snake that was under her car and had to be treated in the ER. Was fine but it was scary!

I check for them and snakes I have read two threads on here where people found snakes in their room in one of them it was in their bed. Yikes!

Snakes? In rooms? *** I would die.

What kind where?

We saw a snake outside near the pool at WL last year. It was black and that's all I remember because I was out of there!

We do a bed bug check at every hotel we go to, even Disney.

How does one check for bed bugs?

Yeah! Don't forget to budget $$$ for any alcohol you might want. I know you talked about drinking around the world :)

Good call, thanks!

Dude... I hope you get everything you want out of your trip. You go down with a friend and come back with a girlfriend, congrats. You go down with a friend and come back with still, just a friend, that's cool too.

But you keep making posts like this, and everyone on this thread that has a romantic bone in their body, is going to be on the look out for you 2 down there and try to arrange a Sebastian "Kiss the girl" scene.

I'm not one to talk. I went down with a girlfriend, and came back with a fiance'. Didn't plan on it til the night before we left and it just sorta hit me.

However things work out, just make sure you have fun.

PS: I wouldn't give out too much info about where you'll be staying. Some of the more creative DIS-ers here, might arrange for your 2 bed room, to become a king size bed room.

You summed my feelings up perfectly. I'm heading into the trip expecting to come out just friends, and am 100% OK with it. Anything more is icing on the cake, but I'm not counting on it.

It's a week in Disney. I can't ask for much more. It's going to be awesome, no matter what. It's a fun storyline, but the more important thing is we're both getting a (much needed) vacation. We're going to relax, have fun, and enjoy Disney. I know some of my posts may come off with a different vibe, but at the root of it I know I'm extremely lucky to have as good of a friend as I do with Abby, and that is more than enough for me. I'll be happy and content no matter what happens.

And there may/may not already be a request for a king-sized bed on the reservation, already. I'm pleading the 5th on that.

OK, fellow December travelers.

I am looking to spread a little Disney holiday magic.pixiedust: If you have NOT yet purchased tickets and you will be entering DHS in the afternoon (for the first time that day) on 12/17 or AK on the morning of 12/19, PM me. First person to respond with corresponding dates and times will get a fabulous surprise! :thumbsup2

If you don't feel like you can contain the surprise, feel free to PM it to me! I know I won't be getting it, but I'd be glad to hear about it, lol. It sounds awesome!

awwwwwwwww

our little levenhopper had a mini-movie-skype date!!!

good thing this is a family-friendly Disney board or one might wonder what kind of movie :rotfl2:

just kidding!

No worries. We watched Miracle (one of my all-time favorite movies)

Since levenhopper is busy tonight (keep your mind out of the gutter :rotfl:), he asked that I reveal the final number at 9pm EST!

You had to go there, didn't you. :rolleyes2. Lol.

-- everyone bought new shirts.
-- cupcakes
-- WedgieSock considered dyeing her hair pink.
-- lots of new people joined
-- After briefly considering the Travelodge, Valgoof switched to POP.
-- Jordan and Abby had a movie/Skype date.

Did I miss anything?

I'm honored to have made the cliff notes. Thanks!

CONGRATS NICKLE831. PM heading your way in a few seconds!

Awesome! How long is the DVC schpiel? Are they persistent? Do they offer incentives for listening to the talk while at WDW? I would love do do a Disney cruise!!!
The only incentives for listening to the talk at WDW is FPs to replace your time from the park, I think its several any-attraction FPs. The DVC schpiel on the ship is approximately 45 minutes, on land generally about an hour, several hours if you actually buy. If you're thinking about buying though, check out resale options first, and save a ton 'o moola (unless you want a brand new resort or there's another reason for wanting direct, like Disney is ROFRing contracts for a resort with a wait list, etc). The good news is they're very low pressure, but it is enticing. The way my salesperson (guide) put it, mainly they're pitching it to Disney fans to get them to commit to coming back and buy Mouse Ears and tickets and spend money in restaurants every year. While they still are making a healthy profit, its not nearly as pushy as other timeshare sales pitches I've been to, since they know they have kind of a captive audience with us Disney enthusiasts ...

Ooooh, yes... Mickey mail should be here soon! Wahoo!!
Do DVC-ers get Mickey mail? I've never gotten any for DLR. We're taking ME ...
To clarify - he was cleared to go to their house in Florida. They haven't made a decision on the Disney trip yet. They're actually supposed to come home for Thanksgiving too but no idea if that will happen either. Florida is good for them - no staircases and good weather. His recovery is going well but still nothing definitive.
Ah, so you're still in Binary plan mode?
LOL!! My brother told me last month that they wanna go to Disney at the same time we're going. He and his wife have been there but only for conferences. Great! It would be wonderful to have the cousins there together! I said. I proceeded to tell him about the discounts going on at the time and about making ADR's blah, blah, blah...Told him about FLE and BOG. He said his daughter would love BOG and could I change our ressie from 4 people to 8 :crowded:! Uhmmmmm...sure! Well, as of today they don't have a room or any ADR'S!! According to them, they're still going :rolleyes2. Rock on my brother, Rock on! ;)
:rotfl:This cracked me up. Some people can just plan last minute like that and be totally happy with the trip they end up with. There's a thread on the DVC boards about spontaneous trips, and for people who go all the time, its apparently enjoyable, but for someone who has only gone for conferences before? Wow. I'd love to hear what they end up doing if they do go with a under-2-month-DisneyWorld plan.
Canon A2300

Pic is from Amazon, but I bought it from Walmart for the same price and it came with a case and SD card. :yay: I NEVER take pictures except for vacations. I have no idea why. So I usually just borrow my mom's camera, but decided I wanted my own this time.
Oooh, that's a pretty camera. I'm terrible at taking pictures other than vacations as well ... when my son looks back at his childhood albums he's going to think he grew up at Disneyland/DCL/ski resorts/weddings of friends. Ironic considering we live in on of the most picturesque places on earth that I never remember to take pictures here.
We'll be there in the PM. I'll have to make myself a LGMH! :cheer2:
Me too! Never snagged one before Home Depot stopped carrying them. But it does seem like nearly everybody is going to be at DHS that evening doesn't it? Guess that ruins my hopes of a short TSMM line. That's okay, the kids love it but we have it at Disneyland, too, so its not at the top of my list.
While we were talking last night, I brought up how I was super excited for our nice night out (California Grill), and thought of it as a mini date night. She laughed, and said "Psh, we both know how we act together. The entire trip will be a date." She then blushed, and had one of the biggest smiles I've ever seen. :cutie:
Oh, that is so awesome! :cheer2: Love to watch stories like this unfold. :hyper:

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: Oh BDL, you're giving us ideas ... :scratchin
Finally have caught up on most of the 3 threads and finally getting excited. Not sure what the deal was with this trip but didn't have the spark as previous trips have. AND this is a wild trip WDW and DL in one day and NO KIDS OR HUSBANDS.:thumbsup2
Love No Kids trips!
I check for them and snakes I have read two threads on here where people found snakes in their room in one of them it was in their bed. Yikes!
I've seen those pictures of members who found snakes in their villas on the DVC threads, and they freak me out. Growing up on Maui I didn't know I had a snake phobia til someone offered to let me hold their pet snake when I was 20 or so ...

And Congrats Nickle831!

Good call, thanks!

Nevermind...I'm too exhausted to think straight let alone post on DIS this morning:scared:

Aww you ok hun? Good morning :)

Nevermind...I'm too exhausted to think straight let alone post on DIS this morning:scared:

A nap or Coffee should do the trick!

Good morning all! I'm off to work. Hubby and I are eating at Mike Shannon's restaurant tonight. He's our Cardinal's radio broadcaster. His restaurant is right across the street from the stadium so we plan to watch the game there and enjoy the pre-game crowd and pep rally.

Happy Thursday!

Hi everyone. We are booked at CSR from 12/14-12/20 celebrating my moms birthday/my college graduation/christmas.
There are 3 adults going and we had decided to do MVMCP, but I'm having second thoughts about spending $200 on it. I know we can get on quite a few rides and the parade is awesome but are those 2 things worth the cost? Any advice would be great!
I can't wait to get there, this is our 1st time at christmas and when it won't be 100 degrees outside!

I wouldn't pay for the party to do rides unless its your only chance to do to MK. We only evaluated the things that are specific to the party. That's why we decided to pass this time.
