Hello.. I've added a night. Now my arrival day is the 19th!
Thanks!!
P.S- if anyone can help with 1900 Park Fare it will be greatly
Appreciated! Christmas Eve.
Congrats on making your vacation a day longer - whoohoo!
Thanks everyone! We now have our new home (for at least another few weeks!) So far, we have had over 500 pages of this thread combined!
Amazing! Thank you for all your work keeping it all rolling
I can't believe how close December is! We booked our airfare earlier this week. Arriving 12/5 and leaving 12/12, staying at Pop with an AP rate. Hoping to attend
MVMCP on the 12th.
Crazy isn't it? Congrats on getting airfare booked and whoohoo for another POP vacationer!
Hooray for part 3! I had a hard time keeping up at the end, real life got in the way!
I picked up a box Celestial Seasonings Christmas tea (sugar cookie flavored! & relax tonight!
P.S. I *think* my 16 year old has decided to tag along this trip, hehe. Went from 6 to 4 to 5, back to 6!
RL has a way of doing that! Hope you have had a relaxing night.
Congrats on being back up to capacity - good luck with any changes you need to make on your travel/reses.
Congrats on part3! Question: if you were to see only one at DHS, would you pick the beauty and the beast stage show or the little mermaid show?
B&tB for sure! LM is a small, very truncated indoor show.
Yep, it's official.....we're going to WDW in December.
What I mean is our balance is paid and airline tickets are purchased. The only thing we need to do is upgrade our
DDP to DxDDP but I will wait to do that until the end of November.
It's real now!
Yay for having the trip paid for ...except that darn DP. Hope you can eat all that food!
We are arriving to AoA on December 7th.
Welcome and kudos for landing an AoA rese!
Thanks! I do feel a tiny bit guilty, though, because the ears really didn't fit DH too well. He's about 6'5", 275 lbs and he shaves his head bald, so the ears did look a little funny sitting on top of his head. I had to pinch my 8 year old to stop her from telling him he looked weird. But DH is a really good sport, so he'll wear them no matter how silly they look. LOL
Yay for the dad taking one for the spirit of Disney magic!
I think I'm on a roll and everything is done but let me go through a checklist
- Hotel booked for night before (12/6), to break up journey.
- Resort booked. POR Royal Guest Room. Requests: Oak Manor, Garden View, room with roll-in shower for Mum.
- Park Tix & Deluxe Dining Plan
- Photopass Plus ordered & received - have coupon to trade in for PP+ card when we arrive
- MVMCP tix ordered & received
- La Nouba tix ordered & received
- All ADRs secured, none outstanding
- Park days figured: 12/7 DTD & Epcot (emh); 12/8 MK; 12/9 HS (emh); 12/10 Epcot; 12/11 MK & MVMCP; 12/12 AK & La Nouba
- Excitement: Engaged
- Packing - Meh, day before we leave
Is there anything I have forgotten?? Surely not. Ooh, ooh! Don't let me forget to get an anniversary card for my parents before we leave - its their 42nd anniversary on the 12th, I can get a gift there.
Looks like all the bigs stuff is done. Congrats on the engagement and amazing about your parent's 42nd anniversary!
Hello everyone! We will be at Disney for Christmas this year. I am officially listed on the roll call list, arriving on the 13th of December. I may have posted in the 1st part of this thread, but I have been busy since then with family matters, teaching, organizing and planning another vacation etc. Now I am back in full blown Disney planning mode. I can't believe that when I post this, my ticker will be less than 2 months!!!
Originally we were booked at ASMo with a FD pin for a two weeks. I will never know what possessed me to save a couple of dollars and NOT book AoA - LM section

At first I tried to be excited about ASMo, but I couldn't stop thinking about what a fool I have been, especially since with the pin, FD was actually available with AoA as well, whereas with the general public FD offer, it was not offered. So, I have tried to change my reservation once already. Of course AoA LM section was all booked up for our two weeks right over Christmas...not that I was shocked over this news! Yesterday I was bored, checked availability at AoA and the LM rooms showed up! So I called just to check if I could change resorts and to make a long story short, I was able to switch using my pin!!!
So, now we are spending 2 weeks at Christmas at AoA!!!
ONLY 59 MORE DAYS
That rocks! AoA was just meant to be!
46 days!!!! I can't wait!
It may sound crazy pants of me, but I packed my son for Disney yesterday (mostly). He's with my parents this weekend and since this trip is a surprise, I can't do it when he's around. When we were at breakfast I thought about it, and we have something every weekend between now and then and no plans for him not to be here, so I had to act while I didn't have to do it in secret. I had been putting things in a suitcase as I bought them, but I packed shorts (too cold in WI to wear them again) and shirts. Only need pants and socks. I threw some things of DH and mine in a suitcase to start.
I guess I just am way excited!!
Nice that you had that opportunity to get his packed and that you're feeling the Disney magic :-]
Anyone have the burning desire to help me plan what days for what parks? I thought I had it done, then we added a day, then we changed hotels, then we changed hotels again
I think we are set now. The hotels changed things since we are now walking distance to Epcot and HS which was a plus since we have a wheelchair along. We are fans of HS so like 2 days there. We have 10-day hoppers and are there the 3-13 with the 12th being my daughters 14th birthday. She has some delays so she is mor like taking a 4-5 year old to the parks so our focus is more like one with younger kids then teens. That said, last time we went she nearly killed me by riding RnRC 5x straight without getting off in the front seat! I had to sit the next hour trying to regain my bearings
I don't like going to the parks on the day we fly out, but plan to go the evening we arrive (we land at MCO at 1pm). I figure ME will pick us up at 1 on our final day so after packing, checking out, and grabbing lunch we won't have much time anyway. ADRs are few this trip. We have breakfast at H&V on the 12th for my daughters birthday and O'Hana at 6:45 on the 9th. We want to catch Wishes at least one evening along with the MSEP and Fantasmic, and illuminations. Am I asking too much? I keep trying to plan it out but with the opening of Fantasyland thrown in I can't figure best time to go to MK.
Any ideas? I know I'm asking a lot

but you guys seem to have this scheduling stuff figured out. Usually we just wake up and decide, but I think my daughter would do better knowing what to expect ahead of time.
Thanks!
If it wasn't for the H&V rese I'd say do MK on the 12th as part of your dauther's b-day. What better park to spend a birthday especially with her outlook being in the range of 4 or 5
Marking my spot ...
We are staying in the Cabins at Ft. Wilderness, saw my name on the 2nd post but not our resort.
Ok I have to rearrange our trip schedule. Found out yesterday, DD has a Christmas Parade to march in for Dance Team on the 8th at noon. BTW Dance is going to break me.
So instead of leaving the afternoon of the 7th, driving half way and arriving on the 8th (staying off site the 8th and 9th), we will now be leaving the afternoon of the 8th and getting into Orlando late afternoon on the 9th. Starting Disney on the 10th. So I now have to cancel our hotel reservations for the 8th and 9th and reschedule everything.
Hubby is happy because now since we have no free days, he has an excuse not to go to his sisters.
So much to do between now and then.
Love those random plan changes, very cool that you are staying at the cabins. I have had girls in gymnastics, cheer, and marching band so I know how those events can change family plans!
Your hubby can just tell his sister to come to "the World" if she wants to see you guys
My 21st Birthday and Christmas presents was a Christmas trip to Disney World. That trip convinced me that even though I love Disney at Christmas, you will never ever get me to go to MK on Christmas Day ever again. It was worse than Mardi Gras.
I can't imagine going to any theme park on the day of a holiday - I've heard too many stories about cranky relatives and wall-to-wall crowds!
Well hubby is being a grumpy scrooge and doesnt want to wear the ADOrAbLe christmas shirts I found on etsy for pictures. boo.
then I said "I need to go to Gulfport."
Why, he says?
Well, I read on the DIS (THE DIS MADE ME DO IT) that some people found great deals at the Disney Outlet, and I know we dont have one here, but there IS one in gulfport... (its 3 hours from us)
Every great now and again we go to the MS Coast to eat Crab at one of the casinos. He said make it happen.
So scrooge might just get a matchy shirt after all

the kids are out of school next Thurs and Fri for fall break (we dont get Columbus day, for some reason, and the district scheduled the break AFTER the 153 St Fair (poor planning if you ask me) ) so maybe next weekend we can go shopping on the coast.
Good luck with the shopping and the grumpy DH. Funny thing is that it's me that comes up with the shirt ideas for our fam - go figure
Thanks
Ok this is weird. I can quote a post and reply to it with no problem. But if I don't quote and just reply to the thread it won't let me. I also can't start a new thread I'm using the app.
As the old techie saying goes, have you tried logging off and back on again?
Ok, we officially started a suitcase.
Wish I could, but my girls are too saavy and would start asking too many questions - lol
I'm officially at 50 days till we check in!!!!! Ahhhh! Now to get some lists in order of stuff I need to get and also of things I want to get while at Disney. I plan to do a lot of Christmas shopping while I'm there (the perks of driving). Ok I'm off to shower and talk hubby into letting me go to to the outlet. Not sure that will go over well since he let me sleep in till 10 this morning
Congrats on hitting 50 days! We are only a few days ahead of you.
So I am really trying to justify a dinning plan. We had free dining once and it was wonderful never having to say, "I'll just get the cheaper item on the menu". We booked a room only discount, so no free dining. If I am reading the pricing right it would be about $721 for 2 adults for 7 days.
We currently only have 3 ts meals planned because we do not have a dinning plan and I was planning on doing cs for the rest. We also thought about just buying cereal and milk for breakfast every day and snacking for lunches.
If we did the dinning plan I could do more ADRs! Let's face it, I am restless not right now not stalking ADRs.
Any opinions for or against. It is a lot of money...I am so torn and DH is like NO.
We are doing it for the sheer convenience - I've already paid for the trip and have money budgeted for tips so it is one less thing to worry about. It is just a matter of sitting down with your reses and making sure you are scheduled enough to use all of the credits.
I've just realized I have never seen Beauty and the Beast or Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Definitely have to remedy that this trip!
You should see them both once at least. We probably won't go back to LM, but we've seen B&tB a couple of times and will see it again.
So this cracked me up. I'm thinking about searching for hidden mickeys on our trip because my 3 year old spots them everywhere. We were at Home Depot and there was three rolls of Underlayment so it looked like a Mickey head. She starts yelling "it's Mickey it's Mickey!!!" Hehe
Very cute! Sounds like you'll all have a fruitful hidden mickey hunt at the parks
I love trip reports and have read several written by the frumps. Kristen is on this thread, but her friend Jess went to Disney last December. I think someone posted the link to her report at some point. Anyway, I was reading it today and it is really good. She describes and takes pictures of so much of the Christmasy things. I highly recommend it if you want to see how it really is. She had a short trip early in December and then a long trip over Christmas and New Year's. I showed DH some of the pics and he was even getting excited about the trip. And we are now saving our pennies to stay at CR with TPV.
I am trying to keep up with at least 10 so far and have fallen way behind. But it is hard to resist a good story, especially if there's Disney Christmas pics!!!!
Link? I'm subscribed to so many trip reports now.....most of them a food related.

I don't think one or two more will hurt
Agreed
Thank you for the link!
My grandma is not doing well. She's in the hospital right now in a lot of pain, her blood was so thick they can't draw it for blood work, she can't lay down because then she can't breathe, she can't get up because then, she can't breathe, they are trying to talk her into a nursing home, & she keeps having A-Fib episodes.
Now my problem is, we leave for FL in 8 weeks. I'm torn. I feel guilty thinking about going with her so sick, what if something happens while we're gone? I'm eating myself up over it & am really stressed over it.
We are in the exact ...and I mean exact same situation, just a little farther along. My MiL's health has been getting worse along with her mobility. She is on oxygen at night and breathing treatments during the day (diagnosed with asthema and congestive heart failure). Couple that with a broken hip that can't be repaired due to osteoporosis, the rest of her joints bad due to both types of authritis, and cracks all up and down her spine.
We've been taking care of her for the past 10 years but after this summer and 2 more falls and a trip to the hospital with the congestive heart failure complicated by borderline pnemonia we've had to get the ball rolling with moving her into an assisted care facility. She just can't be left alone anymore and both DW and I work full time.
I know there is a lot of pain and heartache involved in this and that no matter how good the reasons are and how much better the care will be, there will still be anger and hurt coupled with feelings of abandonment from her side. And frustration, hurt, and guilt on your side. The best you can do is keep talking and keep leaning on all the family you can during the process and make sure that she goes to the best facility possible.
Our "move-in" date for her is the weekend of the 27th, less than 2 weeks away. And our trip is one month after that. It is crazy and an emotional roller coaster and both DW and I have the same concerns you do as far as leaving her. But in our case our kids are getting older and this is the last chance we really have to take them at Christmastime before DD1 is an adult.
Hang in there, I'm sending a truckload of P&PD your family's way
So I think I figured out my days... Thanks for the advice so far and feel free to give me any input you have, especially for good CS.
3rd: Arrival Day. Check in then head to Epcot for dinner and catch illuminations.
4th: Hollywood Studios and Osbourne Lights (thinking later start to recover from our early flight the day before) and maybe Fantasmic.
5th: MK all day with MSEP and Wishes
6th: Epcot
7th: Animal Kingdom then DTD in the evening for dinner (EoS)
8th: Epcot and illuminations (focus on WS and storytellers more this day)
9th: MK then dinner at OHana. Meeting my daughters old respite provider who is going to PA school in Orlando for dinner. Hoping to see Holiday Wishes from the Poly Beach?
10th: HS then to Epcot for Candlelight Processional (Jodi Benson, my daughter loves her from the Guidepost Junction DVDs... She is a huge LM fan too, but has no idea Jodi is her "voice". After all, why would Ariel need someone to be her voice
11th: Epcot and/or MK (if we decide to do MVMCP it would be this night, but not sure we are going to do this for multiple reasons)
12th: Birthday Breakfast at H&V (her favorite "meal" last stay since she loves Playhouse Disney and there is so much going on she is occupied. Let her choose what she wants to do/see again here then most likely over to the MK again for the parade at 3 and whatever else she decides she wants to do. (is there a parade at HS?). I'm guessing we will be spending our afternoon riding Ariel's ride in MK.
13th: pack up and grab lunch on the Boardwalk somewhere.
At some point we want to see the decorations at the MK resorts and another day at the Epcot resorts. I also need to make sure her nurse gets Sushi at some point and I get something that is not Sushi

at the same time. We will need Dole Whips at least twice too. I thought one night we'd get a pizza and take it back to the room. Do they deliver or just the Pizza window? We won't open and close the parks. Maybe one or the other. We are hoping to do a MK rope drop since we never have done that.
OK. What are your thoughts/ideas?
Looks good, I like the AK and DTD for dinner combo. Looks like a looonnggg day at MK on the 5th, hope you find some good times during the day to sit and recharge your batteries
Great choice with tag-teaming her favorite breakfast with some MK magic on her birthday!
We changed from por to our "home" resort, the cr
It is always nice to come back "home" to a favorite resort, we're doing that with POP this year.
Hey guys-
I just found this thread (after being obsessed with the Moms Panel hopeful thread for the past month)....
We're going to WDW Dec 29th and staying at PO-Riverside. So I guess you can add me to the list? I'm still not sure how this works, but I'm sure I'll catch on
Welcome and have a great time - which park are you going to celebrate New Years in?
Wow, caught up with the first slew of pages and still have to go back and comment on the responses to my responses from the end of part two
Y'all are making me work!
