Well hubby is being a grumpy scrooge and doesnt want to wear the ADOrAbLe christmas shirts I found on etsy for pictures. boo.

then I said "I need to go to Gulfport."

Why, he says?

Well, I read on the DIS (THE DIS MADE ME DO IT) that some people found great deals at the Disney Outlet, and I know we dont have one here, but there IS one in gulfport... (its 3 hours from us)

:

If you find any good deals in Gulfport post them, I may just have to make a trip over there.

We gave up ADRs/"free dining" (not so free in our case) to stay at Boardwalk with a room-only discount. My daughter is also on TPN (IV nutrition) so paying adult prices for her to not eat is a lot of money wasted. I realize if we didn't do character meals or buffets maybe we would not get charged for her, but she would get antsy sitting there waiting for us to eat. I also get tired of all the looks from others when you appear to not be feeding your child I'm not thrilled with all counter service, but I think we can come up with enough variety (I hope).

I thought that may have been the reason, I just wanted to check.

Sorry that you have to deal with the 'looks' I just really wish some people would think first!!

Well, good news for you - there is plenty of variety with CS if you do some research so it doesn't have to be all burgers & fries. I have read several really good CS reports on the Dining board where the mission was not to eat a burger.

Once you come up with a rough schedule, post it here and then we can help with yummy CS restaurants :goodvibes

Will do! Hopefully we will get to run down this weekend. If not it will have to wait until Veteran's Day weekend. boo.

I did post a link in Part Two - I got them from Target ... and they are so comfortable! I also got a cross-body bag in the same colour. But, now I'm debating whether I want to take that one. I might just put it with the other mountain of bags I have (my DH makes me buy them, he has an obsession with bags :confused3) and get another really snazzy one I saw. Its pink, very furry and has googly eyes and fangs :lmao:

Here's the shoes, but seriously, they are much brighter in real life lol .... I love how when I was wearing them yesterday (and I had a busy day) lots of people smiled and said "Oooh, I like your shoes" when what they were really saying was "Wow, those are bright!" hahaha

HAHA People do say that! In MN we say "that's interesting" :rotfl2:

I do think they are cute and could see myself wearing them too!

Ok this is weird. I can quote a post and reply to it with no problem. But if I don't quote and just reply to the thread it won't let me. I also can't start a new thread I'm using the app.

Ugh, I'm sorry too. People should think abt stuff before they give nasty looks. Certainly we roll callers can help!

Mine too. It's super annoying!

So we went shoe shopping today at a local outlet mall and stopped into the Disney outlet on our way out. I couldn't believe it, they had Christmas Mickey Mouse ears on clearance for $2.99 each! I've been wanting to get a nice family picture taken of us when we're at Disney and I thought it would be so great to have Santa hats or a Disney character hat for the 4 of us to wear. I did not want to pay a bunch of money for something we'd wear only once or twice, so I'm so excited to find the Mickey ears so cheap!

I had to do a lot of sweet talking to convince DH that the ears do fit him and they don't look weird on his bald head, but he gave in because he saw how excited I was!

So, if anyone lives near a Disney outlet, it might be worth a visit or phone call to see if they have the ears, too!

I might have to get off my butt today and get dressed to head to the outlet. That would be awesome to find those at ours!

I thought I'd do a search for our nearest outlet and, well I never, there is one about 45mins from me. I never knew. Might give them a call and pop down during the week.

Ours is about 15 minutes away and we have a second one about 45 min away, which I'll actually be near Friday night.

I'm officially at 50 days till we check in!!!!! Ahhhh! Now to get some lists in order of stuff I need to get and also of things I want to get while at Disney. I plan to do a lot of Christmas shopping while I'm there (the perks of driving). Ok I'm off to shower and talk hubby into letting me go to to the outlet. Not sure that will go over well since he let me sleep in till 10 this morning

So I am really trying to justify a dinning plan. We had free dining once and it was wonderful never having to say, "I'll just get the cheaper item on the menu". We booked a room only discount, so no free dining. If I am reading the pricing right it would be about $721 for 2 adults for 7 days. :crazy2:

We currently only have 3 ts meals planned because we do not have a dinning plan and I was planning on doing cs for the rest. We also thought about just buying cereal and milk for breakfast every day and snacking for lunches.

If we did the dinning plan I could do more ADRs! Let's face it, I am restless not right now not stalking ADRs.

Any opinions for or against. It is a lot of money...I am so torn and DH is like NO. :rotfl2:

That's a good idea. I have always found I do better when I write down my eating & exercise activity. I walked with the dog yesterday after very little exercise the past few weeks - I was sick and then busy; the kiss of death for me. I tend to do well for a while and then something pops up to interrupt me and I take too long to get it back into gear. I don't even want to lose any weight, just get toned and into better shape generally. Maybe all of us here will keep each other on track leading into our trips. Good luck!

I always found it hard before b/c I tried doing it by writing it down. Logging into a site that has a database of foods is much easier. I get to actually see the nutrition amounts I'm taking in. I just have to remember to log it in after each meal/snack.

Hey, my mom took me to WDW when I was 26 and newly married! My little brother was 11 at the time and I really think she needed me as a buffer. :). I don't think I paid for a thing and I left my husband at home :).

Left the DH at home? I don't think I could ever do that. DH and I are so close that we practically do everything together. Well, with the exception of baby showers for example. Which I have one to attend to in upstate NY 11/2-11/4. It's just DH and DS10 by themselves. They at least have something to do. It's Boy Scouts and Cub Scout pack night for a college football game (DH works at the university) on 11/3. I'm still wondering what I'm going to be coming home to on the 4th .

I love fitness pal...it's a good way to monitor your food intake!

I'm starting to find that out.

Me too! Lost 35lbs so far logging.

WOW! That's great! The last time I lost 30 lbs was when I was pregnant with DS. I've gained all of it back but lost almost 20 lbs about 2 years ago. Gained 4 lbs back last April and am still trying to lose that and more. Right now I'm in a size 16 petite and my goal is to get back into a size 12 petite. That's where I feel comfortable. I don't want to loose too much weight where I'm too skinny :rotfl:

I learned about logging and measuring food my first pregnancy and now I don't need to do it unless I need to get back on the eating well wagon. :teeth:

I did too, when I had gestational diabetes. So this time it's a little easier for me to watch what I'm eating since I already know how to measure everything. I just have to make better choices on some of the foods I eat.

Ok, we officially started a suitcase. ;)

I wish I could start doing that. We still have to buy two more medium size suitecases for our trip. We have 2 extra large ones and I am NOT taking one of those again. Too heavy. It's easier if we each have a medium size.

Phew! Ok, I think I'm caught up with all the posts! I went to church this morning, came back and found that an additional 4 or 5 pages were added!

I have only done dining when its free so we need to crunch some numbers for you.

$721 for you both which is (per person) $360.50 each per week, which is $51.50 per day. What are your eating habits usually? You need to weigh up whether you would spend that per day on food normally. Look at the menus & prices and do a rough estimate on what you would spend, plus factor in it takes the hassle out of paying with cash every meal, you know everything is taken care of.

How much is the upgrade, just curious, we have free dining and the cabins have a kitchen. But not having to worry about any meals at all would be wonderful.

For 5 of us, 4 adults & 1 child, is about $825 from the regular DDP to the DXDDP.

Thanks, hmmm it may be worth it if I can swing the cost. I'll have to wait and see. Then I could use that money for Christmas presents. Tempting.

I just logged in from the computer and realized I hadn't updated my signature in forever. OOPS.

Did Disney lower the height limits in the last 5 years or am I just remembering wrong? I could have sworn DS had to be 44 + inches to ride anything. I just looked and everything says 40 inches now except for the bigger things like SM, R&RC etc. DD is 39 inches so she needs to grow an inch in the next 57 days.
