It's getting hard to be patient, isn't it?

Yes I will be the annoying everyone this week with my in two weeks posts and next week with my ill be here next week at this time. I apologize in advance. lol

PS. All of the horrible secret keepers in my house, including DBF have spilled the beans about a midnight proposal on 12/12/12, at MVMCP!!! Shhhh...I'm not supposed to know this!:love::love:

OMG!! That's awesome!!!!!

Ahh Grease. GREASE IS THE WORD IS THE WORD IS THE WORD

We will stick together!

Once people return, I volunteer to start a Roll Call TR in the TR section so we can do features. We can also do teasers to our full TRs for people who are doing TRs. And more polls etc.

What say you all?

Aww thanks. And yes we DID!! I think this just might be the longest Roll Call in Dis Roll Call history! :cool1:

I would love to do a TR thread. I don't think I could write a whole TR myself but adding in on a conversation would be good.

Thank you for the wonderful Roll call!!

It's exciting to think how many celebrations will be happening during our trips!

-People celebrating anniversaries

-People getting hitched

-People committing to getting hitched

-First trips

-Family reunions

and

-Maybe some of you getting pregnant while there... so souvenirs for later. :scratchin:thumbsup2

AND THAT IS WHY WE NEED A DEC ROLL CALL TRIP REPORT in the TR section.

I wouldn't mind being one of the ones committing to getting hitched but I'm not going to be one of the ones who will be bringing back a special souvenir! No babies here!!

Cancelling Le Cellier for 2 on 12/15 at 2:10pm.

I think that's all for now. I just need to think over Citricos and The Wave. Ha!

Lcaemom - sooooo exciting! We can't wait to see pictures, video and here the story. You may know he's gonna do it but at least the how is still a surprise!!

Just checking in with everyone...too busy with work to post but, lurking daily...hourly, actually! We're getting so close! 19 days here!!! Day off today...need to book doggie daycare, MVMCP tickets, Photopass, look for a new suitcase, stop by TJMaxx to buy Burberry weekend...the perfume I paid $85 in England at Epcot that I found for $24.99 at TJMaxx...it will forever remind me of WDW so, I must restock! The Christmas music is on 24 hours/day...it's a great day! :cloud9:

Yaaaay!!!!

Here it is. It's from an online source, but trust me, it's delicious.

Original recipe makes 1 - 9 inch pie

1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

2 egg yolks

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 egg whites

1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons butter, chilled

1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, and egg yolks. Stir in 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt. In a large glass or metal bowl, whip egg whites until soft peaks form. Gently fold into pumpkin mixture. Pour filling into pie shell.

Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. While the pie is baking, prepare the streusel topping: In a small bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Blend in the cold butter with a fork or pastry blender until the mixture is crumbly. Mix in the chopped nuts. Sprinkle the topping over the pie.

Reduce the heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake an additional 40 minutes, or until set.
Okay, I'm definitely going to try this. I'm just not a pumpkin pie fan, but this could turn me into one. Since you didn't have a crust recipe, I am going to post mine (it's my mom's). It has a secret ingredient- because everything (even making pies) is better with beer! This makes crust that people actually want to eat!

1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon of shortening
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2-3 Tablespoons of cold beer (my climate is very dry so I use a little more)

Cut shortening into flour and salt until particles are the size of small peas. Sprinkle in beer 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing with fork until flour is moistened and pastry almost cleans side of the bowl. 1-2 teaspoons of beer can be added if necessary.

For a two-crust pie, double the recipe.

The kind of beer probably doesn't matter, but I don't think I would use Guinness or anything too strong. I have made it with Sam Adams and other pale beers and it turns out fine. I am absolutely positive my mom always made it with Coors, because that's the only beer my dad would drink.

Thank you to all of you for adding to my excitement by allowing me to share this with you!!:goodvibes I won't necessarily need to act surprized...I know, he knows, that I know!?!:confused3 (If that makes sense?!?) To hear him say those words...in my most favorite place, at Christmas time...I get teary just imagining it!:cloud9: I have no doubt, I'll be speechless! I just hope someone thinks to take a picture/video...however these kids seem have orchestrated all kinds of things so, I'd imagine they have everything under control.:thumbsup2

I'm SOOOO in for that!!! :upsidedow

Tomorrow we're officially in the SINGLE DIGITS!! I can't believe it!!!

Sadly, I know next week, coming back to work from Thanksgiving, will be the longest five work days of my life!

DBF has finally gone off the deep-end... many of you remember how he requested we don't go into MK until after dark on our first day? And while at first, I was like "whatever!", I began to get into the idea of it so I've reorganized our plans to accomodate his wish...

Fast forward to last night, I'm kinda jumpin' around because I'm sooo excited to talk with him about our trip and our conversation goes like this:

Me: "Ok, babe, since we're starting off at AK or Epcot and avoiding MK until dark, where would you like to have lunch? We land at 11:30 and I know by the time we get to our resort, we'll be ready for lunch..."

Him: "Chick-fil-A"

Me: "really?! Cuz the 3 days a week we have that here isn't enough? Plus, where is there a CFA near the Hilton? Is it walking distance?"

Him: "no, at the airport - we'll just take our time getting to WDW and then it'll be less time to wait until dark"

Me: I know I gave him a look as if he were this guy -> :clown: and then I just walked out of the room...

Anyone intersted in meeting a solo traveler? I'll be there Dec. 1-5... ;)

Umm........is he trying to end up a dead BF 'cause if he keeps this up much longer that's what's going to happen. Chick-fil-A - At WDW REALLY??? :scared:

Maybe you can toss him in the river for the gators since it'll be nice and dark at MK since he decided he just can't see it while the sun's up :rotfl:
