The first thing I want to do when I get to Disney? Ride Soaring' because we didn't get to last time.

Favorite food? Do the margaritas at San Angel Inn count?!:rotfl2:

Anyone have any suggestions for naming what will probably be a Christmas present Corgi puppy (we'll definitely get a boy)???

George

Fast Forward to Monday after Thanksgiving (U.S.)

Tofubeast: "Looks like we're getting close to the end of another thread. When we get to page 249 I'll create 'PART 41 December Roll Call'. Just let me reserve the first 8 posts for Roster, Event Links, Post #3, Whatever I chose Post 4 for, Pictures and Testimonials from those losers on The Nov Roll Call thread, Christmas Merchandise, Descriptions of Everyone's Thanksgiving Dinners, And Sympathy Postings for Those of Us Injured in Black Friday's Door-Buster Sales.

Let's see if we can get to 42 people."

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

My BFF got my son a Thor hammer for his birthday and a $50 Disney GC (that was given as an aside, since he doesn't know he's going. He'll get to see it on the plane down). But the most exciting thing was they gave her a Friends and Family 25% discount couple good for later this week... WAHOO!!!:thumbsup2

The first store we went to while in Chicago this past weekend was the Disney Store! I went through the line twice (I forgot to buy the $10 M/M ornament set with my order so I had to go back through the line to get them).......I got 3 of those coupons :) My sister gave me hers too.

That is what I will name the closing thread of our Roll Call. Thanks!

 There's going to be a closing?

YAY!!!

My friend just called me (she saw a post of mine on FB) and asked if we were going to Disney .... she says she wants to go too but doesn't know the first thing. I said "Stop right there honey, you're in good hands" so I'm going round in the morning and seeing if we can get her a last minute trip booked in December!!

My youngest sister already mentioned that I will need to be her Disney travel agent when she's ready to take her brood in a few years! :cool1:

I just made an ADR for Yak and Yeti for our AK day. We were originally doing SAI in Epcot, but since AK hours are extended I want to be at AK longer. It is arrival day so I think we will finish at AK and then go to POP and get settled since we will have been up since 4am. So then the plan was to just do QS, but of course I changed my mind. LOL Has anyone been there?

I hope it's good because we're eating there on our AK day!

I got the green Ariel last Christmas. :)

My 21 yo dd would really like one of these! Ariel has always been her favorite.

I have spent the day doing LOTS of planning!!!! It is so surreal that we are really going to WDW this year. This is what I have come up with:

Sun 12/9: Our flight lands at MCO at 9:15am...we'll spend our whole first day at Epcot.
Mon 12/10: MK open-close
Tues 12/11: AK 9a-3pmish; MVMCP 4p-12p
Wed 12/12: late start with Mickey Waffles from somewhere! Hang around the GF and then head to any of the parks, other than Epcot; MK, AK, HS all close between 5-8pm, then we'll head to DTD
Thurs 12/13: HS 9a-8p; then hoping for a late dinner at O'hana's...and a view of Wishes...REALLY crossing all of fingers for that one!!!!
Fri 12/14:Epcot from open to close; EMH that day so, 9am-12:30pm. We'll take a trip to the Boardwalk at some point to see the displays at BC/YC and BWI
Sat 12/15: MK 9am-5pmish; our flight home from MCO takes off at 8pm

More details in PTR!!! Would love any and all thoughts...suggestions. 34 more days!!!!!!!!:cheer2:

Looks great, and welcome to the group!

Went shopping at lunch and finally got the Mickey light up necklace at Walgreens. :cool1: I also got this little flashlight thing that projects Disney shapes. Not sure about it, but it was only $1.99. Then I went to Target and got a hanging cosmetic bag so mousekeeping wont touch my toothbrush. :rotfl: The list is slowing getting smaller. :goodvibes

I dont know. After this trip, DH wants to wait 3 years to go back. I might get pretty grumpy. :sad2:

I got one when they were at the $$ spot. The only color I saw was turquoise. Not sure how that will go with the decor in the bathroom of POR but I guess that isn't important. Of course, I bought it because I read I needed to......but what else will you put in yours? I understand the toiletries......but will you put any clothing items in there? I know the AB section of POR tends to have less storage space for clothing.

It's looking like I will need a miracle if I expect to book another trip inside of 3 years, too. :(

Did I already know we had the same Epcot day on 12/7?? Are you doing CP dinner?? (should I know that too?

I think we might have mentioned this way back in Part 2 of the threads. We have the 4pm at Garden Grille and the 6:45pm candlelight processional. I really can't wait. :cool1:

Are there any DisMeets planned between December 9-16???

I know I'll be seeing Wedgie on the bus on some of our park days :)

Nice!! You have converted him. Mine is still in the camp of "We're adults, why would we want to meet characters?" Sigh.

I've already informed mine of the wait to expect for the 7 Dwarfs during our MVMCP. He's in full cooperation. (notice I didn't say he's excited about it). ;)

Here's my schedule so far:

Fri 12/7: EPCOT (CP and EMH)
Sat 12/8: AK morning/MGM (Osbourne Lights) night and possibly River Roost at POR afterwards
Sun 12/9: Resort hopping in the morning/Magic Kingdom & MVMCP at night (with a Dole Whip stop)
Mon 12/10: DTD morning/MGM (Fantasmic!) afternoon & night
Tues 12/11: EPCOT day/DTD night
Wed 12/12: Open day (with Le Cellier dinner)
Thur 12/13: Park hopping for merchandise/Departure at night

Just keep an eye out for the 6' 300 lbs Boston Irish guy decked out in Bruins/Pats gear (or a Mickey Mouse hockey sweater), and you've found BDL. :wave2:

We will also be putting BDL and BDLsgal in our windows at POR-RGR, as well. :thumbsup2

I'm hoping we'll be in AB section.....but I will circle your building looking for said window decorations. :rotfl2: You might run into Wedgie too!

I was just thinking of this randomly and...what is your least favorite ride at WDW? Meaning, something you've been on and will be quite happy to never ride again.

Unfortunately, my partner likes it, so we'll be going on it again this year. (And will also be riding Test Track and Mission: Space multiple times.)

This is a no-brainer for both my dh and me.......Mission Space! It took me a good 3-4 hours before I felt human again. This girl was green! It was 2004, though.....and I don't remember there being two different lines (orange and green is it)? I have no desire to ride that again.....and I can ride every single roller coaster at Cedar Point.....so I'm not necessarily a sissy!

See you at POR!! If you have a 5'6 strawberry blonde curly girl come up to you and say, "Hey BDL!!", no worries, it's just me :wave2: I'll be there with DH and DD7 It's gonna be great! :cool1:

I'm 5'4", almost black, below shoulder length hair.....hubby is 6' and WILL be wearing a navy Cardinal's hat!

YAY! I finally got it small enough.

It looks like our plans are as follows:

12/10 - Arrive BWI early afternoon. MK then Narcoossee's for Dinner
12/11 - Epcot - Les Chefs for lunch and Le Cellier for Dinner
12/12 - DHS - CRT for breakfast then park hop to DHS. Yachtsman for dinner.
12/13 - AK/DTD - Y&Y for Lunch, Fulton's for dinner
12/14 - MK - CP for breakfast, MVMCP and the TTDP.
12/15 - Open (thinking Epcot) Kona for breakfast. Coral Reef Dinner
12/16 - Open - Maybe MK and DTD. 'Ohana for breakfast HDDR for dinner.
12/17 - Check out and early afternoon train back.

Pretty! We'll be there the same times but I don't think we overlap on any of our park days! We're having Kona breakfast on 12/16.

What's everyone's favorite food at WDW?

I have 2- mushroom filet at LC
Butterfinger cupcake from SR
I almost forgot Tonga Toast at Capt Cooks
ASMU/POR Dec 16-22, 2012 & POFQ Sept 8-15, 2013

Our last trip was with 4 of the kids and we only ate Morocco as a ts, I think. I'm anticipating Le Cellier mushroom fillet as being my favorite, closely followed by "fill-in-the-blank" cupcakes.......many years ago I considered the snow cone things at the Japan pavillion as one of my favorites and get this.......about 20 years ago our hospital cafeteria had a Dole Whip self-serve machine!!!!! I did love that too!

When doing online check in can you request a king bed? Higher floor? I have heard there are some requests you can make during online check in.

At POR a king bed costs $25 more a night. I paid for that upgrade, which came to $175 extra :(

Hi :wave2: I'm a newbie to the board. We are going to WDW Dec 28-Jan 1. We are staying at POFQ. It's DH 4 or 5 trip, my 2 and DS(9) & DD(7) 1st trip. None of us have been for Christmas or New Years. We are getting super excited!!!

Welcome! WDW and Christmastime is a magical combination!

Just decided over the weekend that we would be surprising our son with a trip to WDW leaving on Christmas Day. We will be staying at OKW Dec 25-31 and SSR Jan 4-6. We are staying at the Best Western Lake Buena Vista for the days in between.

Still trying to decide how to surprise our DS (10)! Any creative ideas would be appreciated. We have to leave our house around midnight on Xmas eve so we will have to let him know before then :)

What a nice long trip you have planned! I originally had a night booked at BW too but when Disney announced the RO discounts I bit the bullet and booked our first night at POR (that's where we're staying for the rest of the week). Welcome to the group!

OK, finally caught up! I will be on here and posting a lot more because I temporarily inactivated my Facebook account. I had a lot of friends posting a lot of negative political stuff that I just couldn't take it anymore. I will probably log back in next week. ;)

Ride that I will probably never do again? TOT
I know a lot of people love this, but I hate that stomach dropping feeling and I hate only having a seatbelt to hold onto.

Favorite food:
Pineapple Dole Whip Float
Mushroom Filet at LC

I have a new question for everyone: What is the first attraction that you want to do/see on your first day (if it were up to you and not your travel companions)?

Funny thing....I haven't been on FB much at all since I discovered DIS!

My first attraction? Normally I would say IASW but our first day this trip will be evening at DHS....so I'm guessing it'll be ToT or RnRRC....although I would consider neither of those to be my favorite. Dh loves RnRRC. It takes my breath away so I rather dislike not being able to breathe.

Hey everybody checking in.....

I am currently still in New York. There are still many people without light or food and not much gas. I am glad that my teacher gave me this week off and I lose nothing all I have to do is write about the experience. I am still excited by Disney and yay we will be there in like 35 days, but honestly it's all in the back of my mind when I am helping feed these people or helping them look for the remaining items scatter all over where there house use to be. I am so glad that Disney is donating 2 million dollars for the hurricane relief. Also you can help donate 10 dollars by texting ABC to 90999 or Red Cross to 90999. ABC being Disney organization. I do this because I would love to think if this happened where I live there would be someone else doing it for me. I love to see the amazing people out there come together when something like this happens. NYC is after all my home town.

I did order the blankets cause I know the free personalization will not be included come Monday. I know I think starting Wednesday the 25% off everything( I think) and I know that code is disneypal. So if you have had your eye on anything I would wait till Wednesday if its regular price.

I can wait till the 9th so we can start getting some reports back hopefully, also anyone one else going to be tweeting live? Maybe we can have a post with everyone's tweeter names

Bless your heart! Doing this sort of work certainly helps keep life in perspective. People are what's important....not things. :grouphug:

Many people have included their Twitter name on the Facebook holiday page. Mine is JameJame81. Feel free to follow me, I will be live tweeting from DW starting the 1st.

My Twitter name is quirkyinwi.

I'll be live Tweeting/Instagramming

I'm not good at tweeting....but I'm adding you both!

Running to keep up on this thread again. Has anyone called and gotten the $20 back from the price change for pp+?

I called and was told they'd do a refund directly to my credit card, but I haven't seen the $20 credit yet.

Umm.........in the increasingly likely event that I end up packing so much stuff sissy and I have to check our bags does anyone know if I can slap the ME luggage tags on it for Disney to pick up from baggage claim and deliver even though we're renting a car? I haven't actually gotten around to calling and cancelling ME on our reservation, so I'm assuming we'll get the luggage tags in the mail???

The DME page says you need to be on the motorcoach for your luggage to be transported to the resort. How they verify, I have no idea...but I'm not sure I'd risk it.

We're staying at AoA, where you can't pay extra to get a king bed. However, we requested one when we booked, and I see the request on my online confirmation. I don't know if you can make the same request during online check-in. I don't think we'll do online check-in, just to be sure we get the best shot at having the request honored.

How exciting! Being Christmas Eve, I would have him open a special present. I did a big box with a Disney balloon in it last Christmas for my in-laws. Or you could give him some things he might need on the trip - books, t-shirt, water bottle, etc. alternatively you could sit down to watch a special Christmas movie and pull out the Disney planning DVD. I would try to tie it into your usual Christmas Eve traditions somehow.

They told me 7-10 days for the credit...

Good morning!

I'm trying to think of a ride that I absolutely do not like, but I really can't think of any. There are rides though, that we're not planning on riding this trip. Those include Carosel of Progress and Tiki Room. Okay I guess worst ride would be the speedway. It just seems lame.

The Dole Whip Float is definitely m favorite.

My first choice is always the Welcome Show at MK. No better way to start the trip.

Thanks for the heads up. I have to do another order this week.

And thanks for everything you're doing to help this hurricane victims. It's a great thing you're doing.

I haven't before but now that there is WiFi in the parks I probably will - @tltorrez.

Hmm ... I've been told that the computer generates all DVC room assignments about 10 days out. Wonder if their system is different?

I've heard that all the room assignments are done a week or so in advance whether by computer or person. And that there is some flexibility to change them at check-in based on availability but they're still all assigned in advance. Honestly, there's so much conflicting information on this topic, most of it by CMs, that its all just a guess.

I too, want to try the twitter thing...got it, but then found it a bit confusing for me! kids just laughed....maybe by the time we leave, I just might figure it out. Nice to know that I am not the only one that has to figure it out!

The trick to Twitter is choosing the people to follow. I follow mostly scrapbookers and some Disney blogs. If you follow people who follow each other then it just becomes a big conversation.
