Has anyone had problems with Garden Grocer? It took me awhile to search and add items to my cart. Not too user friendly because not all of their items show up after the search. When my husband looked at it he wanted to subtract 3 and add 3. You have to email them to do this. It is part of their instructions. When he sent them an email they wrote back and asked him to start over. I told them that if we have to do that then we are going with another company.
We went with wegoshop. From the looks of it you get cheaper price s w a fee so it ends up being the same cost.

Ok so for those of you who asked - $46 for a mini 2 tier fondant cake. Fireworks theme, with a small Cinderella Castle and "Happily Ever After" written in the serving tray :)
That sounds amazing. You'll definitely have to post pics!

Ok I need some opinions... Does this sound weird... My 17 month old is the worlds worst sleeper. She is a light sleeper and often has night terrors. So we are staying in a 3 bed GV at OKW. Original plan was to have MIL, DD3 and DD1 share a room, DH and I have a room, my mom have a room and SIL & BIL will take pull out couch.
So there is a laundry room, its like 8x8... Would it be wrong to put the pack n play in there? We will obviously have a baby monitor so we can hear her just like at home... Is this crazy??:crazy2:
If it makes you feel better I see people on the dvc mouse cellaneous boards taking about putting kids on pack n plays in the laundry room in blt and okw 2 bdrs frequently. ..

Hey levenhopper, just thought I would give you an update... popcorn:: remember my friends I posted about way back on probably part two of this thread who were going this week and and only had 1 TS reservation?? Well I helped her out got them a few more TS ressies including a Hoop Dee Do, Mama Melrose Fantasmic package, and a Garden Grill CP - package. Pretty good considering we started in October.

Anyway, they landed yesterday and were checked in by noon and headed to MK. Well I told her to take advantage of PM EMH because they are night owls and I knew this would be best for them (their kids are 13 & 11). Well she text me today to let me know they were a little off schedule heading to Epcot because they stayed at MK til 3AM!!!:scared1: But they were able to ride most everything without wait.:worship: But she said we slept til NOON!!:rotfl: I told her not to worry about it and make the most of it again!! Then this is the part that got me  she text asking me where to eat... did I mention we made her note cards for everyday of her trip including suggestions on where to eat in each park.
Wow 3am! We're night owls who will have a time change but even I don't think we'll make it that late! Glad they're having a great time! So fun to live vicariously ...

I'm having the hardest time with DBF and his lack of Disney excitement at our impending trip... now understand, I get that I'm totally the more passionate between us and that I'm excitable about pretty much everything that involves us, traveling, us ALONE traveling and basically anything vacation.

Here we are 11 days away, 7 business days, and he has yet to order our tickets from UT. I feel like I'm kinda all alone in planning and even thinking about our trip and it's getting a little frustrating and truthfully, even a little sad.

Do I expect that everyday he'll give me our countdown or some minutia about WDW? No, not at all, but I don't think it's too much to expect that he'd at least talk about it as if he realizes it's right around the corner or even that we're going at all!? :confused3

So last night, I kinda errupted (nicely) and finally said, "what trip? I've come to the conclusion you've been blowing smoke up my a$$ about it the whole time! We're not even going, we don't have park tickets or have even talked about travel day details like what time we're leaving and if we're staying in Austin after all?!" :furious:

His response: "I don't have to think about all that, that's what I have you for... I just booked it - you get to plan it..."
Yep, men ... (Some anyhow). Dh is super excited about the trip but when I try to get him to give an opinion about it he says whatever ... Btw if you order from undercover at this point make it will call because I think you might be outside the mailing Window ...

Just finalized my packing list. O M GEE, it's long! There is so much more stuff to take when you have a toddler. Thank goodness we are just 3 hours away.

Made a huge dent in preparations over the weekend, so I feel a LOT less stressed. I just need to finish up our park touring plans and finalize ADRs. (Don't worry, I am not holding on to anything popular at all).

TWENTY DAYS!!!!

We still have to pack yet. I just finished printing out the menus so that we can kind of figure out what we want to eat before-hand and have a ballpark figure for the tip. All of our Mousekeeping envelopes have been printed out. My mom surprised me the other day by asking if I can print out envelopes for her :cool1:! I think the only thing I need to do prior to packing is getting my LGMH done.

Wow!! Roll Callers in the single digits!! I'm so excited :goodvibes

After tomorrow I can officially say that we're in the single digits as well. DS10 was jumping up and down this morning b/c we can officially say we are going next week! We can't wait! My mom is starting to feel it as well. She's been asking me a few questions and even said to me that she is glad that I'm doing all of the planning and having fun with it. She said that I'm taking after my father (who passed away 4 years ago) in that department .

Can I just say how much I love your house stories? We bought a house a few months ago and we've had to replace every door lock and a bunch of other little things, plus painting etc. But whenever I read your stories, it doesn't seem overwhelming anymore. You are a true trooper.

Thanks. Your's will probably feel like a piece of cake after you read this :rotfl: My FIL bought this house back in 1954 and is only the second owner since it was built (so it's probably a little over 100 years old by now). But there are so many repairs that are needed that it's overwhelming. The house needs a new roof, new windows, new doors (inside and those leading to outside), new flooring, new paint through-out. New sheet rock is needed in the kitchen, bathroom and in all three bedrooms due to leaks in the roof(thankfully our room isn't as bad as the other two bedrooms).

The kitchen still has the wooden cabinets from the 1970's (I think, although it could be from the 60's), formica (sp?) counter tops, linolium flooring on the lower half of the walls (don't ask, I was told that was the Italian way of doing things back then), out dated wallpaper from the 1970's on the upper half of the walls. Brown industrial type floor tiles left over from the 1950's. It needs a complete gut job as does the bathroom.

My FIL and his father decided to put down press board on the floor in the bathroom and then lay a linolium on top of it. This was back when they didn't know you are not supposed to use that in a bathroom due to the moisture  So there has been what DH calls a "pothole" :rotfl2: in the bathroom floor that's been there since I've know him and before that (DH and I have been together for 25 years total - married for 13).

The main floor as well as upstairs are sunken in b/c the original owner (who built the house) put bricks in the walls upstairs . When DH was 12, his mother decided to take those bricks out and take down the walls as an incentive for his father to rennovate upstairs (which he didn't do for 20 years until after he said we could move in with him). The floor now slopes in towards the center. The house really has no insulation. There are sheets of styrofoam inside the walls so it's cold to the touch during the winter months

Because of the drafts from the windows and the kitchen, we blow through heating oil every other month. My FIL says going through it like that is normal  Maybe for him, but that is not how is supposed to be and you can't tell him otherwise. He had a hard life growing up and still thinks that this is how it's supposed to be even though times have changed and he doesn't need to be. But he's 84. He still thinks he can do the things he used to when he was younger.

That's pretty much it.

I got this email today, just some more info on the surprise for the kids. I've been working with some pretty awesome CM's on this - I have a massive thank you letter to write.

a surprise update: this is the idea Carl, from AoA has for Daddy's introduction.

"We do a dance mob occasionally where we dance to a Little Mermaid song in the lobby. (You can see it on you tube if you search for Art of Animation dance). At the end of the dance we walk toward a selected guest in the lobby and end with raising our hands and yelling "hey". It is great fun and a lot is going on during the dance to keep the kids attention. If your husband comes from the back with a large poster of Ariel in front of him at the end of the song (guided by one of us to where you are sitting) then at the end when we say "hey" he can drop the sign and be right in front of you."

How awesome is this???pixiedust:

Very awesome! I've seen a few videos with service men and women surprising their family on YouTube. I always tear up watching them. It's so heartwarming to see the kids run up to their father or mother and just cry and hug them. Do you have any plans of posting it on YouTube? Tell your DH thanks for his service :thumbsup2

I'm in a bit of a panic. I emailed my TA this morning as I leave in 10 days and still haven't received my Mickey Mail! :scared1: She replied that when they got my packet it was wrong, wrong number of ticket days mostly. So she spoke to them and confirmed it was all right in the system at least, and asked to be mailed a corrected one. Well, she still hasn't received it! She said if it didn't come today she would mail me the wrong stuff since I can use most of it, and she'd send me the correct one once it arrives. :worried:

It will all work out!

Ive been a lurker for a very long time, but our upcoming trip has me so beyond excited that Im ready to just dive right into getting involved as a poster on disboards!!!!! DH and I along with our 3 & 5 year old daughters are going with my inlaws for our first time to see Disney during the holidays!! We went all together as a big group in Sept 2010. My inlaws (which includes MIL, FIL, Sis inlaw and other Sis inlaw plus her 4 kids) are staying for 6 days, and my family is staying for 9 days! We have so many great ADR's lined up too! BOG!! as well as the Candlelight Processional and lots of Character Meals! Im a little nervous about it being too cold, but we will be in the happiest place on earth so how bad can it be??!! (unless we are talking Dec 2010 bad - eeekkk!)
So Im just saying :wave2: and excited to share my excitement with you all!!

Welcome! Lurk no more! We'll be at POR from the 10th-17th so I think we will overlap?

DH did our early check-in today! I can't believe we leave next week for WDW!! I am so excited! We are driving down half-way next Wednesday and then arriving at POFQ on Thursday! I sure hope that I run into some of you guys while we're at Disney! I'm going to put the Lime Green Mickey on my camera bag. We arrive November 29 and leave December 9.

I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving! Our 22-year old son will be going to Mississippi with his girlfriend and her family. This will be the first time that we're missing someone! Thank goodness our 19-year old son will be home. The oldest one is working on his Master's at a local University and the 19-year old is at the local Jr. College working on his EMT. I love having both of them home because I know sooner than later, they'll be gone! In fact, we're taking the 19-year old to Texas after the first of the year to finish his training. He'll live with my parents and my brother is a paramedic/firefighter so he'll help Tyler with the rest of this training.

Sorry to go on and on - feeling a little nostalgic at the moment as the holidays and our trip get closer!!

They grow too fast, don't they?

we got our Mickey Mail!!!! :cool1:

Awesome!

If you're looking for a tree for the room -Target has some nice 2' tinsel trees. They're wrapped up tight and lightweight but they're nice and full when you fluff them. I bought a red one and its already wrapped in my carryon for the in-laws room. (I'm ordering a 3' tree from Amazon for our room.)

Im happy to have that done. Though now that both trees grew by a foot, I'm worried I don't have enough ornaments. So I'll be making more just in case.

I made these tonight. They were super easy. I got the idea when I saw these gold grapes. I knew I wanted to make Mickey head ornaments and gold will go nicely with my princess frame ornaments. The heads are 1" plastic gold ornaments and the ears are from the gold grapes. I superglued them on:

Arrggghhh I am trying to keep up but today has been manic!

Ok, this Brit needs a little bit of help when it comes to tipping - now please don't think we are tight, its just that our servers (in the UK) get paid a regular wage like any other job so a tip is a bonus, not a necessity to survive. I was shocked when I heard what servers get paid here and that tips are needed so I do tip very well.

But, I'm not sure what to do in the situation of CRT - on the menu its says 18% gratuity included ... so does that mean I don't have to tip because they are already getting a tip :confused3 or, are they going to trip me up on the way out and say "oops sorry" whilst thinking "serves you right, you tight wad!!"

I only noticed this by accident - are there any other restaurants where gratuity is included?

How do I handle this *waves "I'm a foreigner, don't roll your eyes" card*

I think Hoop De Doo and CRT have tip included and I want to say the Spirit of Aloha...but I can't remember where I read this at. Maybe in the DDP brochure? I have another dumb question.....if you are on the DDP you don't have to pay tax, right? You just pay tip?

Might be a dumb question, but if you are staying over Christmas
Do you take presents to Disney? Or you wait till you get home to opened them?

I would give anything to be there to witness this first hand! I hope I can see it on Youtube or something afterwards!

Does anyone wear a lanyard and a pouch such as this to put their tickets in while at WDW? I'm trying to decide if I need one....which i think I do because I have some pins.....but are these pouches sturdy? Can you fit 2 KTTW in them as well as a photopass card? I know dh probably wouldn't wear a lanyard so I may end up keeping all the important stuff with me.

It is plenty sturdy. I wore 1 on our last trip. It held our KTTWs, photopass card and lgmh. The only thing was that it was too long for me. I didn't wear pins so it wasn't that big a deal. I tied a knot in the back of the lanyard, behind my neck. Served us well for the whole week.

We do need to continue this thread - I really live chatting with everyone the past few months!!

I agree. This has been a great thread (every PART. Much thanks to tofubeast). But all these months have been great. The up's, the down's. The funny stories and the support. It has been great interacting with all of you.

Now... to avoid complete seriousness, YEAH... we totally kicked the November thread's behind ;)

When tip is included, like at CRT or at some non-Disney restaurants for large parties, it is never expected to tip more. I do occasionally, particularly if we're in a large group that's been a lot of work and the server is exceptional. But that's not a regular occurrence.

SAT887 said:
I would only leave extra if you get some unbelievable service. There is only 3 of you so I don't think you have to worry about added gratuity anywhere else. I think of parties of 6 or more its automatically added - I know it usually is when travel.

Also, I think the dinner shows have tip included like the hoop dee doo....

It's also added if you use TIW. I guess to prevent people from tipping on the discounted amount.

We're not going over Christmas but we're taking presents and opening more when we get home. :)

I think it depends on how old your kids are and what they expect. My parents were divorced, so Santa always made two trips for us. The second one being on whatever day we happened to switch houses during Christmas break. But my SIL, for example, still freaks if you even suggest celebrating on a different day. I would totally go with what your kids expect and keeps the magic alive.

Yes, Im posting at 3AM. DS just told me he's been awake since 11:45. Last night he didn't fall asleep until 2. I was not expecting an insomnia flare up now.

Now, of course I can't sleep stressing about school and the trip (13 days). On the plus side, the holiday should help get him on track.

Good morning Roll-Callers. Still over 20 days till Disney for me. :headache: does anyone else listen to some Disney podcasts? I'm listening to WDW Today's recent episode about holiday dining (and have the DFB holiday podcast queued up).
