I'll be there on the night of the 11th! Most of our trip we'll be at Art of Animation though, from the 5th-10th. Cars suite! :)

Question:
Can I buy a bottle of wine at Epcot and take it to our resort room to drink? I can buy that kind of stuff around World Showcase?

We're driving so we are just bringing some with us! But I'm not sure how much we'll be hanging out at the hotel! I'm sure we'll squeeze it in! ;)

We didn't do online check in because I wanted the option to change the room if we didn't get our requests ... we ended up on the 12th floor of bay lake on the north side, outside of the c ... which means for a Lake View room price we got a view of the mk off the balcony. Watched the fireworks from there tonight it was fabulous!)

If we were staying at AKL as we originally planned we probably would check in there, however we switched to Art of Animation so we could stay in a Cars suite for my Mater obsessed 2 year old. Our requests were just to have a courtyard/pool view and to stay in building 1 which has Mater at the entrance.

I started packing last night and feel really behind! With a surprise trip I'll have to do my kids packing when the oldest is at school. Last time I put outfits into Ziplocks and I'm worried I won't be that organized on this trip! And I need a list of groceries I need to pick up for quick in room breakfasts and snacks for the car. Only two and a half days till we leave and three till we're at Disney! Guess I'd better start the laundry!

Weather now showing high of 78 and low of 50 for the next two weeks. Is it safe to leave the winter coat at home? We all have Disney sweatshirts or fleece.

I just got an email reminder for tomorrow's dinner reservation at Marrakesh :)

23.5 hours and counting.

Btw I may have missed it while traveling ... Does valgoof have a definitive answer yet?

Nope.

With that forecast, I wouldnt bring one. But if that low dips into the 40's.....Brrrr. Plus, you are there a while, so that second week will still change. Wow, I am helpful. :rotfl2: I will be taking gloves and hand warmers for the late nights though.

I'd leave them, but then I hate taking extra things. I figure there's not much weather we can't handle with a fleece and a light waterproof shell over it- that's what we've taken all over the world including to Yellowstone where it can go from 80 to freezing in August. I'd rather layer than lug stuff around.

DS2 and are up watching Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas on ABC Family. I need to get up and get a shower so I can head to church but I'm comfy and don't want to get up yet. Think the ladies at church would mind if I show up with my hair up and sweats on. I'm in vacation mode after all.
Hah! At my church that's how half the teenagers show up, so why not?
I found out I got picked to do the readings at Christmas Mass for our church, that's pretty awesome. I guess I need a new dress for that.

I started packing last night! DH probably won't till Tuesday but I couldn't wait any longer. Today's my last day of work, then it's two days worth of errands. 72 hours and we'll be at the airport!

All right, I've officially switched gears to thinking about the trip because last night, instead of my usual dreams about some disaster befalling one of the kids, I dreamed about Disney for the first time.

It was a little misty/raining when we got there, but we arrived really early (that's how I know it was a dream, since we're flying- you just don't get anywhere early). And we were checked into modern design suite, like one of the suites at the CR . It looked like the place we stayed at in Maui last summer- but we're staying at the YC so not sure I understand that part. If I can't imagine a new suite it must mean I'm too lazy to even dream properly!

We thought we'd head out to the parks but I forgot my rain jacket. Not so bad, but when we were leaving the room, I found I had left all of the tickets I bought from UT at home. I was thinking about just charging the whole lot of them again and hoping UT would refund my unused tickets when I (gratefully) woke up.

I think it was a warning to me to get in gear and start getting these final few things done or suffer the consequences.

I had a dream that my sister and Maya Rudolph showed up unexpectedly and decided to join my mom and myself, in our room. They wanted me to pay for everything, my sister is pregnant and so couldn't ride anything and wouldn't let us, and Maya was acting much as she did in some of her more obnoxious SNL sketches. I was all, "but I made the Le Cellier ADR 180 days ago! I can't redo it!"

So odd. And my sister would never act like that. And what the heck was Maya Rudolph doing trying to sleep on my floor?!?!

LOL. Kind of hard to celebrate our anniversary without him.

Yes, that could definitely be a problem!

Aw, I love Marrakesh! The last time we went the belly dancer was enchanting, but the highlight was my waiter who was a shameless flirt. Maybe to make up for the belly dancer?

Three more days til the trip begins! I packed one suitcase for the kids, a backpack for food, a small suitcase of toys for the roadtrip, and I am working on a bag for me and dh. We are downloading movies to the iPad and kindle and taking CDs for the kids music, plus we have Sirius so we should be set on media for 12 hours. The kids know we are going, but I have arranged for Cinderella to send dd a special scroll invitation in a glass slipper for breakfast at CRT! Mickey is sending ds a Mickey ornament for the tree. I am planning for these to arrive in the mailbox the day before we leave, so it will hopefully get them as excited as I am! They are 2 and 4 and this will be their first trip. Hoping ye weather forecast stays nice! Is 75 degrees okay for swimming?

Good morning! I'm going to get my mani and Minnie-pedi today. I'm going to do red with white tips on my toes, with white polka dots on my big toes. I'm thinking about getting a yellow or silver line to separate the white from the red.

I'll stop by Walgreens on my way home to try to find those Ear Planes for the kids. Neither Target nor Walmart had them (though Walmart did have the adult-sized).

DD received her birthday presents from my mom yesterday. One was a Merida doll with a bow and arrow. It was cute. DD said it was what she had been dreaming of. In the middle of the night, though, she let out this blood-curdling scream "Mommy! MOMMY!" Sick to her stomach? Bloody nose? No. She slept with her Merida doll, and the bow fell out of her hand, and she was afraid she had broken it. She's not dramatic at all.

Well, at least it wasn't your pregnant sis trying to sleep on your floor! I think you might be feeling unappreciated, so to compensate I propose an afternoon at the GF spa. :thumbsup2

We are debating similar quandaries ourselves. Will make the final decision Wednesday night. Right now leaning toward just layers, no heavy fleece, but throw in a pair of gloves.

Good morning everyone!!

We leave this Thursday so I think we might start pulling out things to pack today. I have a million things on my "want to do" list. We'll see what actually gets done today ;)

I very much like this plan, LOL!

This sounds like something I would have done as a kid, LOL!

Hi everyone! :wave2:
I know I am a bit late to the party, but better late than never. I've been popping into these boards here and there for the last few months as I plan our trip (Operation Holly Jolly Birthday Fantasy Surprise, I call it, its a mouthful) and just lurking about... and then I found this thread and couldn't resist registering. So, you lucky people get to read my first post here ever!
I am Holly. I live with my son and daughter and the kitties and doggies in Peyton, Colorado, just outside of Colorado Springs. Sometimes my husband lives here too, but right now he is working at the embassy in Baghdad. :sad1: But, he gets his R&R in just under a week and will be meeting us at WDW then coming home for Christmas, and the kids have NO IDEA. :cool1: When it comes to Disney trips, you can usually find us on the other coast at DLR, this will be my 3rd trip to WDW and DH and the kids' 2nd. In January we spent a lovely dead dead dead week and a half at POR, this trip we will be at CBR from the 10th to the 18th. And the 14th (my birthday) we are going to be crazy and do the dessert party and the MVMCP. I work at home while DS does online school, my daughter goes to "regular" school which is conveniently right across the street, and you can add a couple of new gamers to the group. There's not a system we don't have... right now I am working my way through LittleBigPlanet on my Vita, the boy is playing some Pokemon something on his 3DS, both kids got their "Christmas present" Wii U early and spend a lot of time on that, and when I am in the mood I am still working through Lego Pirates on the 360 and Skyrim on the PS3. I read a lot, I cook a lot, and I cannot wait to leave, it's been one of those... months, I guess? I'm ready for a vacation.

From what you say, I'm really glad now I got the FP+ for Little Mermaid and Tales with Belle since we weren't planning on getting up to New Fantasyland until late morning. It sounds like they're going to be the busiest attractions at the MK for a while.

If you are getting to the park AFTER rope drop, I think you made a wise choice. I didn't get the FP for either of those just because (esp in Lil Mermaid case), I want to take my time gazing upon all the awesomeness in the queue.....but we're getting there before rope drop on 2 different days so I should be able to see both fairly early in the day. I'm hoping at least!

LOL. Kind of hard to celebrate our anniversary without him.

But not impossible. :lmao: One of my BFF from high school just celebrated her 5 year anniversary with her hubby......but she was in Las Vegas with a few of our other friends (I couldn't take off work to go).....he sent her a delicious bottle of champagne which the girls promptly enjoyed!

Doggone......I'm missing all this good tv! I baked my gingerbread men this morning and made dough for my press cookies....will bake those when we get back from vacation......unless I get a wild hair and do it this week. :woohoo: Today I MUST do my tie-dye MM shirts! As soon as I get caught up here that's what I'm going to do. I've put it off as long as I can.....secretly I'm very nervous that they won't turn out. :(

Yes, but they won't send it back to your resort the way they do with other packages. You'll have to pick it at the gate when you leave the park ( or keep it with you).

You can buy wine in Italy, France and Germany for sure. Also Mombasa Marketplace in AK. And Japan has a huge sake selection. I already sent a wine shipper box to my Mom. We'll be bringing home a case of sake on the plane.

Okay....what about DTD? Is there somewhere to buy wine or champagne there? Can you buy chilled/champagne anywhere? I want a bottle to take on our sleigh ride at Ft. Wilderness......which also brings me to another question.....does the same ferry that goes from MK to Wilderness Lodge also go to the campgrounds? I assume that's where we go......something about meeting at the Blacksmith's shop.....
