PART FIVE!! *December 2012 Roll Call* Holidays, FLE & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

It's the night before my trip and yep I'm wide awake. Still haven't finished packing. I did lay out all my bathroom stuff so I can pack it after I use it tomorrow. I also have all the wash caught up so if shouldn't take me long to pack up tomorrow. I'm not sure why but I volunteered to help at 'Taste of Christmas' at church tomorrow. Basically it's a social event after service. I need to be there at 915 and probably won't get home till lunch time, aaahhh, we'll last minute packing is more my style anyway. And DH said its ok since we are driving if we forget anything we can go get it. I don't want to forget anything because once we get there I am not going to want to leave property, lol.

I can't wait to spend the week with my husband.
Me too! That is a nice benefit to driving......anything you forget you can always pick up along the way. That's the way my mind works.....we'll be driving and I'll remember something I didn't pack.....driving from PA should give you plenty time to think about anything you've forgotten!

Did you catch the times of the Nemo show? Actually both shows at AK? Did I make that up? Lol!!!
I didn't look at the festival of the lion King but the nemo times on touring plans were accurate ... I want to say 11, 1 and 3 today. We passed by at 1 and went to the 3p so those are definitely accurate.

for those who have done online check in, our room requests which we called in are not listed on the online check in. When I try to click room requests it only gives me the option of adding a pack n play. Will our requests still be attached the reservation, and hopefully, honored if they're available? TIA, we haven't done online check in on our past trips so I'm not sure how it works! :)
We didn't do online check in because I wanted the option to change the room if we didn't get our requests ... we ended up on the 12th floor of bay lake on the north side, outside of the c ... which means for a Lake View room price we got a view of the mk off the balcony. Watched the fireworks from there tonight it was fabulous!

It's weird how long it takes to get everywhere. Took about 45 Mon to get from okw to ak, (about what I expected) then from ak to blt it was 15 min, (shorter than expected) then from blt to Epcot ended up taking us nearly 50 min. (Much longer than expected.)

Question:
Can I buy a bottle of wine at Epcot and take it to our resort room to drink? I can buy that kind of stuff around World Showcase?

Btw I may have missed it while traveling ... Does valgoof have a definitive answer yet?

I thought you said. "I can't wait to spend the week without my husband." I was about to agree with you. :rotfl:

Not that I don't love the man dearly, but a week away with my mom - methinks we'll appreciate each other all the more when I get back!

Those surprise me too! No way would I expect it to take an hour from BLT to Epcot!

You can add us to the list of who will be there over Christmas and New Years. :). 5 of us, Dec 20 to Jan 3 at POR. and the Wishes Dessert Party on the 28th. So excited!!!!

Holy Crap this thread moves fast!

I've been keeping myself very disciplined over the last few months, minimizing my time on the Dis. Otherwise, the poor kids will never get fed! :lmao:

But now that we are close to a week away, I just can't help myself....

A week from today we will be putting the final touches on the kids surprise. They have no clue that we are going. My little guy was left out of all the big kid rides the last few times we went. I promised him that when he was 40" we would go back to Disney. Well, when he was finally 40", we were expecting. He was such a sweet kid, insisting that we wait to go to Disney until the baby could go too. Well, the past year has been a roller coaster. Our baby boy has had a number of food allergies and severe reflux. At one point we thought he was going to require surgery at 4 months. A year ago he was 2 months old and losing weight and failing to thrive. Today, he's a chunky monkey full of energy! And he's a huge Mickey fan. :). I can't wait to see their faces next Sunday when they find out we are going back to Disney.

I have put together "presents" for each of them. We plan to put them under the Xmas tree next Sunday, we leave on Monday. In their boxes are autograph books, magazines and books for the flight, pins, etc.

Anyways, I am super excited for this trip and knew you would understand :grouphug:

Magical travels to all my fellow December Disers! pixiedust:

This will prove to be a magical trip! You must capture a picture of the moment the kids figure out where you are going! You won't want to ever forget that! :goodvibes

Hi all! Checking in on our day one. We had a few setbacks today, but I a remaining positive! :)
We had to wait almost an hour to get on a ME bus, but we got a front row seat.

After that we headed to FL to try to ride the Little Mermaid. Big mistake! No FP so it took over an hour. Plus it was 4 and we still hadn't received a text that our room was ready. We left MK and our room was ready! We waked in the door and DH turned on the ceiling fan and the smoke alarm went off! We called the front desk and someone quickly came up and changed it. :)

We ended up going to downtown Disney and getting a seat at the bar at Raglan Road and enjoying a cup of beer cheese soup each and splitting Heaven on Earth Ribs (so good).

I had the this for dessert at Ghirardelli.

Hard to see but it had chocolate and strawberries, yum.

I probably won't post this much everyday, but we are beat and decided to go back to the room early so therefore I had time to post. The weather is perfect by the way. Cool, but not cold.
Sorry the day was not great, but at least you're in Disney! Actually seeing you there is wonderful- hope tomorrow is better.

From what you say, I'm really glad now I got the FP+ for Little Mermaid and Tales with Belle since we weren't planning on getting up to New Fantasyland until late morning. It sounds like they're going to be the busiest attractions at the MK for a while.

If I see you I'll give you the Dis boards gang sign.. (I'll wave hi!) :rotfl:

I'm an average height and average weight blonde, DBF is 6' and pooh sized. I will have a LGMH on my bag.
We're having lunch at Via Napoli at 11:30 on that sunday.......We'll probably do some strolling to see any of the storytellers we missed at that time!
Ahem - we could see you in the parks! Wear one!
Yay! Maybe I won't have to wander WS all by myself if I'm armed with a LGMH. It'll be stuck on the ECV if I've overdone it on the preceding days, but I'm hoping not to use an ECV that day, so then I'll put it on my purse.

Well, on the dog recovery front I'm happy to report that the poochster is hobbling about and drinking water on her own. She looks like a pirate dog with a peg leg.
Arrrrrrrrrrff! pirate:

Now I think I can relax a little and start focusing on this trip.

Definitely plenty of time. About 10 hours to go

LOL. Kind of hard to celebrate our anniversary without him.

Welcome!!!!

DS2 and are up watching Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas on ABC Family. I need to get up and get a shower so I can head to church but I'm comfy and don't want to get up yet. Think the ladies at church would mind if I show up with my hair up and sweats on. I'm in vacation mode after all.

DS4 and I are watching that, too!

Next Sunday At this Tim, I'll be at AOA getting ready for our 8:05 H&V reservation!

The TSA has a very long list of banned items on their website. I'd check that if I were you, but my gut instinct is they probably won't let it on in your carry on.

Nothing about rolling pins. ;) but they don't allow clubs and such so I moved it.

Yes, but they won't send it back to your resort the way they do with other packages. You'll have to pick it at the gate when you leave the park ( or keep it with you).

You can buy wine in Italy, France and Germany for sure. Also Mombasa Marketplace in AK. And Japan has a huge sake selection. I already sent a wine shipper box to my Mom. We'll be bringing home a case of sake on the plane.

I leave in 25 hours. Yesterday was productive but not enough. Expect to find me in panic mode by about 2 PM. ;)
