Nah some of us are home- just quiet because PDD has set in or were kinda behind on the holiday stuff

So true on both things! I've been back for a WEEK now and still can't get used to dull real life. I have worked a bit on loading all my photos (1,977 = crazy) and editing through the PhotoPass+ photos, but I haven't even posted a "just back" report. I have managed to finish the gift shopping (except a few stocking stuffers), and we put the tree and a few decorations up today. But mainly, I just want to be back at my other home.

eta: not that i'm one of the big chatters, i'm just having a wild case of the pdd!

We are putting our tree up Sunday! I've been back for two weeks... Just got my PP+ CD and have about 1000 other photos (half mine half my MIL) that I've been looking at. After the holidays I will start my photobook - delayed Xmas presents for family. The fun thing about the new year is we have been finalizing next years vacations plans and there is 1 trip to NC, 2 trips to WDW (short trip in oct and then 8 maybe 9 days the first week of jan) and we are going to NJ for a few nights in 3 weeks. All vacation requests have been approved!

I'm still semi stuck on the TR report - I didn't take notes and my extended family is in 95% of the photos... They are pretty private and probably wouldn't want their pics posted somewhere - maybe ill just crop or blur them out....

Well we've had a fun couple of days

Our hamster died sometime yesterday, so we had to have a funeral for him last night.

Today, my hubby left in our van to go get my MIL, and I took the day off to run errands and clean. Coming back from errands, my husbands truck died as I went into the driveway, pretty sure its the alternator. Fun, a few days before we leave and now all this. So a friend to the rescue and came to get me to take me to pick up DD11 when she finished her exams. And thankfully I sent a note with the youngest to be able to ride the bus home today.

Fortunately we dont "need" the truck till we get back, so it can wait. But I was seriously bummed I filled the bad boy up today! Could have saved that $$ LOL

Oh dear. Hope things don't continue that way any more!

DH keeps talking about all the things we could do with the money and time if we skip Disney next year, and I'm not sure if I can do it. Since DS6 and I are in California there's a ton of radio ads for Carsland and every time its on DS shouts in excitement. Thinking maybe of doing a shorter trip instead so it will be more palatable for him ...

But on the other hand, he gets 4 weeks vacation paid (one of the perks of working for the government at depressed wages), and we usually only take 2 for Disney, 1 for skiing, so he has another week if he wants to spend it with his family like he keeps talking about and the past few years he's chosen to visit friends or just take long weekends here and there instead (and that's not counting the extra vacation time he got from furlough-reduced paychecks).

I would be okay with either another trip to Florida to use our APs or a DLR trip next winter to start APs, even if it was a short one, but we're probably not doing a DCL trip so I'm not sure I can not plan a Disney trip at all in 2013 ... also wondering if I should just plan a few "girls weekend" sort of trips for me and my companion from this last trip and our other sister-in-law so it won't be as expensive (w/o the kids, etc) and the DH's can't complain ...

Ok, day 2 was great, but I'm laying here in bed SO tired and my legs hurt in places I didn't know could hurt. Started off at MK for EMH and were the only ones on dumbo, the tea cups, and small world and walked right onto space, buzz, and little mermaid. Hopped over to HS for lunch at 50s prime time (meh, just ok), spent the afternoon there, had dinner at mama melrose (good), and saw the Osborne lights, which were just plain cool! Just got back from shopping at DTD which was NUTZ it was so crowded. Tomorrow is AK and MVMCP!

Well it's the flu. the upside is that I got her in soon enough to take tamiflu, the downside is that there isn't much more that they can do, it just has to run its course. I feel awful for her! Just gonna get her to rest and push fluids and hope the tamiflu works. Could use some pixiedust.

Oh no, sorry to hear that. Hope she feels better soon- at least you were able to get her in quickly.

Been really busy at work, not been able to post much. So excited that we leave tomorrow Although I am coming down with a cold, I managed to avoid an emergency root canal (a crown popped off a few weeks ago and I have had nothing but problems with it- til I got it fixed on Tuesday). Dentist told me if it continued to hurt, I would need to come in before my vacation or it could get worse and I could wake up with my face all swollen. Well- no pain I am off tomorrow (as is DH)- presents are packed, clues made and wrapped, most of the laundry done. Between the two of us we need to finish laundry and pack, clean the house and do a few errands while the kids are at school. We will tell the kids after school on Friday, then leave for Florida right after that. They have no idea

My wife was sick one day at WDW. We were at AK until about 3pm and she started feeling awful. We went back to the room, she lay down and around 5pm she told me that I may as well go to one of the parks, as she was just going to sleep all night. I went to MK and.... it was a lot of fun being there solo! Man did I feel guilty and I'll never tell her that! I'm pretty sure my answer to her asking later how the night went was, "eh, it was ok." The good thing is, I have just as much fun with her there as I did solo.

Do you have your voucher book with you? If so, there should be a 15% discount in there for the spa. I took advantage of this when we were there. I scheduled a 50 minute massage over at the YC b/c my legs and hips were really hurting after all of the walking we were doing. I wasn't used to walking that much! It really helped. She got all the kinks out and by the time she was done, my legs and hips weren't hurting anymore . Definitely worth it!

We had so much fun, but should of brought more summer clothes, the weather changed on our 3 day and went from cold to hot , mvmcp was very crowded the whole time was but still had so much fun!

Good morning all! Haven't been on much since I got back due to the craziness of the holidays and PDD.

I wanted to give a piece of advice for anyone there now or going that is attending MVMCP. If you get your picture taken with the 7 Dwarfs, tell Grumpy he is your favorite. The reaction is hilarious!!

Oh I LOVE, Trace Adkins! He will be awesome, no doubt! We saw Blair Underwood and he was great. The whole show is so moving, so beautiful. The CP was the highlight of our trip and something I will never forget, don't miss it!

I was wondering if anyone's kids did the sorcerer's magic card thing at MK? My DS12, had a blast doing that. We ended up doing two entire days + MVMCP at MK, because he was having so much fun solving the cases and collecting additional cards.

I guess all the big chatters are at WDW without us, that's why it's so quite.

I can't believe how much I am missing the world already, it really was a great trip and I have to say thank you, to you all, on this board! I would have never done the photo pass without your suggestion or MVMCP and both were fantastic ideas!

I think we will have to make the time to see it, Ive heard such great reviews. Guess it doesnt really matter who is the narrator.

I seriously dont know what to pack, the highs are going to be in the 70-80s but the lows down to the 40s. Crazy Florida winter weather. LOL

Mostly packing jeans and light ls shirts, but might have to add some polos and shorts just in case its too hot. Layers, layers layers

While the narrator can make it better or worse, it's the choir that really steals the show, IMHO. When I saw them with Whoopi on 11/30 they were incredible. She did make it better with her readings, and a couple ad-libs, as well as dancing to the songs , but I still would have really enjoyed it if the person reading wasn't a celebrity.

We are driving to Orlando as I type this (spent a few days in South Florida). Counting down the hours for my first ever DW trip. Headed to MK in the morning. Soooooo very excited!
