Part 3
Still April 23, 2005 approximate 8 PM
Oh my gosh!!! Were here!!!!
There were the purple signs, the palm trees, the monorail, oh yeah, how bout that warm weather. The 80s we landed in were a far cry from what we had left behind in New England. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was home.
We passed under the toll thing for the Magic Kingdom, saw all the busses pulling in for Grad Nite (mom, a high school teacher commented Im glad Im not chaperoning that one) and headed for the Wilderness Lodge. We got our parking pass at the guard shack, and heard Welcome Home. What a sweet sound. Rounded the corner and my jaw just dropped. Wow, what a place. The last time we stayed on property, Wilderness Lodge was either just opening or had just opened. Wed never been there before. Pulled up and entered that lobby. We were just in awe. While mom, stepdad, and Allison were in line to check in, Laura and I headed for, what else, the Mercantile. Stocked up on postcards to send home (Im a post card writing junkie), and then headed back to the line. Got there just as we began to be waited on. We got checked in, asked about being Flag Family, and they had one opening left, for the day we checked out. We couldnt believe our luck and signed up right away. Then off to get the luggage and we headed for our room, Villa 4552, practically at the end of a VERY long hallway, overlooking the bus stop. But that was ok, because we were in Disney. Other than the view (which wasnt that bad) we loved our villa. We had a quick dinner of hotdogs in the room, since stepdad had preordered groceries (it was 8:30 at this point) then we headed out exploring. Went to Roaring Fork for our refillable mugs, then to the beach where we watched the Electrical Water Pageant. A great way to start our vacation. Back to the villa to set our Mickey wake up call, then to bed. It had been a long day, and I was still feeling the Benadryl side effects, long after Id taken it. BTW, the Benadryl was for the allergies that had plagued me for the few weeks before the trip. Just wanted to clarify that.
