We just returned home and now I'm working on planning our next trip!

What are the parks like the Sunday after Thanksgiving and then continuing in to that week?

What day would you recommend arriving WDW and first touring for lesser crowds after Thanksgiving?

We are really interested in striving for low crowds. Our schedule is flexible.

We will be driving. It takes us about two 8.5 hour days.

Any advice?

I can tell you is that the Sunday after Thanksgiving has been the first night of MVMCP for the past couple of years at least That week is also a big week for DVC members because it is when the annual meetings take place of the condo associations.

Empty, awesome, I wish I could go with you!! We can't take that week for vacation now that my son is older, but it's my favorite week of the year. The Christmas decorations are up, MVMCP is running, and the crowds are so low. The only problem can be that it gets a little chilly. Have fun!

Thanksgiving weekend is still pretty crowded but it dies down considerably come Monday.

We went to WDW last year the Sunday after Thanksgiving and went to MK that day and boy was it crowded! Now I'm only comaring it to off season crowds. I'd say it was as crowded as a Saturday in the winter/off season months.

Maybe you could arrive Sunday and take it easy that day or just do a different park.

We arrived in WDW this year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We checked into the hotel around noon, had lunch, and headed to MK. We got there in time for the parade and had a great curb side seat. After the parade we headed back to toontown and it wasn't very busy back there. After that we took the train to the front of the park to head out for the day. There was a MVMCP that night so MK closed at 6PM. We were there the rest of the week and it was great. The only time it got crowded was when they taped the parade in MK the following weekend. Then it was really crowded. It is a great time to go. I think I would suggest arriving on Sunday because it isn't to crowded and most of the thanksgiving crowd is on their way out. And then you have all day Monday in the parks when the crowds are great. I hope this helps!
