Parks Game! Part 7.1! Come On...Keep Playing...You Know You Want To!

Karen it is something like a 3-hour star spangled salute to all things mostly American?

Sam the Eagle rocks...

I can't remember exactly what he says his contribution is...but I'll guess "dignity, honor, and patriotism..."
(or one of those 3...:p)

Sorry it's so rainy down south DJen....but thanks for the tip...I need to remember it's a big world..with a lot of yardarms...so that pesky sun is always going below at least one of them...LOL...:)

LOL..oh how could I forget that...but I think the actual title is "A 3-hour salute to all countries...but mostly America"

I love that :)

Okay I'm going to award a special good-job-working-together-to-come-up-with-a-close-enough-answer AAQ to Higgs and Jen. The wording I was looking for was "It's a salute to all nations, but mostly America." I believe later on he states that it is a glorious 3 hour finale, and that's when Kermit says "you've got a minute and a half."

Higgs and Jen, you're up.

OK...here is a quickie...

What company was the original sponsor of Space Mountain?

/
I'll second that guess of RCA being the original sponsor of Space Mountain.

Hey...welcome back CD:)

AAQs to coasteraddict and carpedm...RCA was the original sponser of Space Mountain...:)

OK we need a new question....

wow...some people must still be having server problems...there are a lot of regulars missing from the CC...oh well...we'll just save a place for them until they find their way back...and on the bright side...more whiparitas for us :)....BTW...how's that sun on the yardarm DJen? Low enough yet? I think it is...:p

The sun is trying to peek through here ... and if it were shining it would delinitely be time for Dole Whiparitas;) I still have to use the IP addy to get to the boards:(

Thanks Karen;) Turning it right back in with a softball ... I will be out of the CC for rest of the afternoon so whoever answers it first gets the AAQ;)

What attraction is replacing Horizons?

LOL...DJen...I'll join you in a Whiparita :)

BTW...Mission:Space is replacing Horizons...

OK...a new question...and a tough one...

Which actual NASA astronaut appeared in the original Space Mountain pre-ride film (the one that gives the safety spiel...don't stand up, keep your arms in...etc...)

Good luck with this one...:)

I can get to the boards by clicking links from the home page, but not from the links that come in the emails. I think it's a plan to make you *earn* your whiparita. BTW, I recommend spiking the Dole Whips with pineapple-infused vodka.

And I'm going to refrain from answering the new question, 'cause I don't want to be greedy. :smooth:

Well Hi Ya'll! Pass me a whiparita. I don't care where the sun or the yardarm are!

I'll go with Buzz Aldrin too. I like Buzz. Reminds me of another fella named Buzz you can see in Tomorrowland.

I believe the astronaut was Gordon Cooper, who participated in the Faith 7 (Mercury project) and Gemini 5 flights and was part of the Apollo program.

Of course, now he is more known as a UFO advocate.

LOL...as much as I agree that Buzz Aldrin would be appropriate...remember this was 1974...so Buzz Lightyear wasn't around...:)

Look for another astronaut...no hints yet...:)

OK...so I don't need to post a hint...:)

Just as soon as I finished my last post...CD gets the right answer...it was Gordon Cooper....

Looks like you're up CD...who needs a drink? :p

I'll use both my AAQ's in one shot with a two part question...

Category: Space Mountain History

1) In what year did FedEx take over as sponsor of Space Mountain?
2) What two characters from the RCA post-show can still be seen in the current post-show section of Space Mountain?
