Here’s a holiday beverage that some people love ❤️ or stay far far away from :crazy2:. It’s something that people can hardly wait to drink or don’t want to look at it. Some people hate it, without even trying it, which makes no sense to me (my DD22 being one of them :rolleyes2:lmao:). Some people remember hating it as a kid and 40+ years later, still won’t give it another try (my DH being one of them :rolleyes2:lmao:) We all have pretty strong feelings about eggnog. Before we go further, let’s have an eggnog lesson…

Until I read this, I never realized that some people serve it warm - I’ve never had it warm - I’m not sure if I’d like that. Now that we’ve had an eggnog history lesson, let’s find out our history with eggnog, in regards to how you feel about it now and in the past. So, give us your sweet and creamy answer today……

What is your ADULT opinion of eggnog?
What was your CHILD opinion of eggnog?
(multiple choice)

*No “other” today folks. If you have an “other” type answer, please post that answer - thanks!

For Me…..I’ve always liked eggnog - as a child and adult. My mom has always liked eggnog and so did my grandparents. My dad was never a fan. I didn’t buy any eggnog this year for the first time in a long time because my mom is taking a medication that makes her not tolerate many foods and drinks and she’s nervous to drink it, which is valid. Even though I like it, I don’t like it enough to drink an entire quart all by myself, so I will be having no eggnog this year - boooo!

I love egg nog. My dad makes some great homemade stuff but I never get it quite right and just buy the premade stuff at the store. It's one of my more favorite holiday flavors and love that our market has started putting out a pumpkin variety before Halloween. I bought a bottle the other day and have been debating about using some of it in one of cookie batches.

Didn't like it as a kid, I think I'd like it now but I keep talking myself out of it. Seems like a hassle to make, most people say the store-bought version isn't good, and it's loaded with calories. I'd def try some if someone made it for me, but that's highly unlikely to happen:)

We used to get it when I was a kid and we would all be excited, but I can't remember how I actually felt about the taste. At some point I started to really dislike it though. I think it's more the texture for me, but there's just something icky about it. I always joke that they just save all the unsold expired milk for hte year and slap an egg nog label on it in December!

I love it, with a little spiced rum. Can't drink too much at once, since it's so rich.

Just looking at that picture sort of turns my stomach. I hate milk and have ever since being a kid - gag. I don't like eggs except prepared in very specific ways. So while I've never tried eggnog, the thought of a milky eggy drink honestly makes me feel ill. It's kind of strange, because I'll use many of those same ingredients and make a vanilla custard for a pie, and that's just fine. But no eggnog will be had here. Happy Holidays!

I never had it as a child. Until a few years ago the idea of it was disgusting. Now it is part of my Christmas Eve. I pick up Panda Express and have a couple Spiked Eggnogs while watching Christmas movies/shows.

I always thought that eggnog was served warm.

Eggnog isn't a part of our Christmas holiday now or when I was a kid. I think I don't like it but have never really given it a chance.

Didn’t have it as a kid. I like it, as do some of my family, either plain or spiked with rum. Good served with a cinnamon stick.

I don't think we had it at home as a kid. Not that I can recall at least.

Marie will usually pick up one or two quarts over the holiday weeks. I'll have msybe a total of 3 or 4 cups over the holidays. Marie adds a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. I do llike it, though probably not in the love category.

Sandy, pick up a quart for while Katie is home with you guys. I bet she'd try it this year, and like it.

I love eggnog and buy several quarts of it over the season. I don’t remember ever having it as a child though.

I like it (storebought). We have a great homemade eggnog recipe (yes, with raw eggs) that has so much alcohol in it it would kill anything the eggs brought to the table. It is absolutely amazing and doesn't taste anything like storebought.

No.
Uh-uh.
Never.
Ain’t gonna happen.
Yuck.

I can’t stand melted ice cream and that is exactly what it reminds me of. I can’t stand the flavor of alcohol, so the boozy version is a double yuck. Give a cup of good hot chocolate instead and I am a happy camper.

We used to enjoy it back in my younger, pre-diabetic days, but it's not something I can safely and comfortably consume with the sugar levels these days.
