Yeah! I'm the winner...lol. Here's my question.

On March 11, 1996 what went down for refurbishment in MK?

'96 was when Mickey's Toontown was opened...so whatever was there before hand?

thanks! I think disneycruise ought to have a pointy AAQ for pointing in the right direction....but your call on that.

my question is easy 'cuz I have to work a LONG day and hopefully someone will get it before I leave.

How many rows of seats are in each boat at Pirates of the Caribbean????

Nope! But I love your Norman Rockwell picture (M & M and Pluto)---how did you do that ???

Try again!

I thought it was cute too when I saw it in someone else's signature, lol. :ssst: :ssst: just copy and paste, lol :rolleyes1

Hmmm...Maybe 5 rows? I think I need a research grant to investigate this matter :teeth:

I'll guess six rows too.

Kansas??? Did you say Kansas??? Wouldn't happen to be near Wichita, would you?

I'll throw out a softball to keep us legal with the thread rules:

What name did Walt use to describe WDW in his first TV broadcast describing the plans for the complex?

Sailing the high seas AAQ's go to disneycruise and gometros!!!

Six rows it is!!!

Hope everybody had a great day!

Thanks! I'll hold on to this AAQ in case we need a softball...

As for ksdave's question, I'm pretty sure WDW was referred as just Disney World...it wasn't until after Walt's death that Roy renamed it Walt Disney World for his brother.

Although I think it was referred to Florida project X (or something like that), I have to agree with disneycruise05 that on the first broadcast it was simply called "Disney World".

OK, I know I'm a total geek, but i actually have a transcript of that telecast, which goes as follows:

"This is where the early planning is taking place for our so-called Disney World project. Now the purpose of this film is to bring you up to date about some of the plans for Disney World. But before I go into any of the details, I want to say just a word about the site for our Florida project."

So I agree with disneycruise and plutospup as I guess both "Disney World" and "Florida Project" would be correct?

Ace, you are SOOOOO cool!!!!

Of course you have a transcript!!!!!

:yay:  :yay:

Sorry for not getting back to you on my question. Very busy at work today.

I hereby present AAQ's to disneycruise05, plutospup, and Ace. Both answers are correct!! Ace, you and I must be very much alike, because I have video files of that broadcast on my computer. I love watching it to see the differences between what Walt envisioned and what actually came to be. The one thing they did not do that he had on his original master plan that I really wish was there: The WDW Airport!

Who has the next question?????

OK, I'll throw one out there:

What is the name of the Cinderella fountain in Fantasyland?

The official name is "La Fontaine de Cendrillon" (or Fountain of Cinderella)

It is also know as "Rags to Riches" becuase when you drink from the fountain at the height of a child, the crown that is painted behind the fountian seems to be "magically" placed on her head.
