We are leaving on Sunday for our first DVC stay and we are a little confused about parking. Do we have to pay for valet parking at the GF, Poly and Contemporary? What about if we park at the theme parks? TIA!
As an onsite resort guest, you can park at the theme parks free of charge. If you use the valet at a non-dvc resort, you would be required to pay unless you are dining there and have the DDE card.
Parking at the theme parks is free for all WDW resort guests, which includes those at DVC properties. You will receive a parking pass when you check in. Just put in on your dashboard on the driver's side. When the CMs at the parks see it they will wave you through to the lot.
Parking at WDW resorts is allowed and is free. If you choose to use the valet parking services at non-DVC resorts you will have to pay (unless dining there and using the DDE card) and tip accordingly.
Valet parking at DVC properties that offer it (Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge) is free for DVC members. You will need to show your blue member ID. Tipping is still customary even though the valet service itself is free.
Unless you are a guest at some of the deluxe resorts you might not be allowed to park there unless you pay for valet parking. Such as parking at the Contemporary Resort - you either need to be a guest there or have a dining reservation there. And you may be limited to three hours if you are not staying there.
DVC members are not supposed to use the free valet parking to visit the theme parks that are connected to the deluxe resorts. Use the free valet parking at WL/VWL, BC/BCV, AKL/AKV, BWV/BWI to visit the resort.
