How does parking work with disney??

i realize that WDW is huge and i'm sure it has many parking lots and since we are staying offsite and renting a car and paying to park there for the day,,does anyone know if we can pay one price to park and park in epcot and MGM??

how does that work??

i'm meaning if we don't take disney transportation and take our own car to each of the parks,,do we have to keep paying for parking???

weird question i know,,but it just entered my mind and who better to ask!!

Parking is $9.00 for a car at the theme parks. Once you pay they give you a ticket to display on your dashboard with that day's date printed on it. It's good at all the theme parks. If you decide to leave the park you are at and travel to another (going from EPCOT to MGM) you show the parking ticket you already purchased that day at the next park as you enter that park's parking lot. And you in. I hope that helps.

If you want to take your car from park to park you only pay once $9, just show the parking slip they give you at the first park. But you don't have to keep getting on your car to go from park to park, for example from EPCOT to MGM you can take a bus, take the boat from EPCOT's international gateway to MGM or you can walk if you're up for it.I would leave the car at the park you'll finish your evening at.

Annual Passholders get free parking as well. I also vote for parking where you will be at the end of the day. Unless you want to drive from park to park which we do occasionally but then you tend to wind up at the back of the parking lot.

As noted, you only pay once to park for the day.
I suggest that instead of driving all over the place that you park your car at the last theme park you will be visiting. You can just use Disney transportation the rest of the day until it's time to leave. Many people do this rather than move the car from one lot to another. Wherever you park you will likely have to take the tram to the park entrance since the lots are huge......make sure you note where you park!
If you park at the TTC you will tram to the monorail or boat that will then take you to the Magic Kingdom. Only Disney buses are allowed near the MK entrance.

When we were at Disney in January we were with a group of 8 and half of us used a Disney bus to go from AK to MGM and the other half went by car. The ones who went by car got there about 15 minutes later than those of us who went by bus.

It is better not to have to go back to get your car from a park that has closed many hours ago. Since AK usually closes earliest, someone had to move the car out of there.

Make the trip ten times and average the time taken in order to get a meaningful travel time.

You did mention if are staying on onsight or not. If stay onsight, you a parking pass( for the parks) to put the window of your care for the entire length your stay. :woohoo:

Actually, the OP did say they were staying off-site.

Full APs do include parking. However, Seasonal Annual Passes (only available for FL residents) DON'T include parking.

For many years I did the "leave the car at the park where I will finish the day" routine, but after I got a little more accustomed to driving the WDW roads, I found that in many cases it's quicker to drive my car to another park than it is to take the busses.

One more issue with self-driving that you didn't ask about - resort parking. If you want to eat at a WDW resort, you can simply drive there and park your car. You will be stopped at the security gate of the resort; all you have to do is show ID and tell the guard that you are having a meal at one of the restaurants. Most of the resorts will issue you a 3-hour parking pass, although a few don't even bother with that.

And get gas at one of the Hess stations on-site; they are actually cheaper than the Racetrack and Citgo stations off-site!

Resort parking is available if you are actually using the facilities at the resort, dining, shopping, etc. The resorts do not provide theme park parking. All of the deluxe resorts have signs where you drive into the resort that they cannot provide theme park parking.

Use the theme park parking lots for your trips to the theme parks.
