Parking Tricks

Just for the record, i have found that if i price staying offsite at $50 a night, plus a car rental for $30 a day, plus parking for $14 a day, its pretty much the same as one of the Value Resorts, with free Magical express, free bus transportation, and quiet possibly free dining.

I suppose this may be true but I have found if you do a little searching there are great deals to be found! We just returned from Orlando and I had a hotel for 35 per night(that included hot breakfast daily), our rental car was 18 per day. I prefer to have a car so we can come and go as we please and we have always done it this way. Nothing against the on site resorts but I have never found a value resort less then 100 per night and that doesn't include a fridge in the room. Believe me we LOVE Disney but it's also nice to be able to leave and eat somewhere else. Just my opinion:thumbsup2

That's true if your group is 4 or fewer. our family has 5 in it. The cheapest on-site resort that can accommodate 5 is POR. There you'll pay about $150 night rack rate for a room with 2 double beds.

We choose to stay off-site most of the time for that reason, but I also don't complain about the parking. I just consider it part of the budget and am grateful for the wonderful parking (it's efficient and safe) and I'm willing to pay for that.

That's great that you can get those deals, but the problem with your parking idea is that you don't want to pay to stay inside Disney but you want to use the privileges that are given to those that do.

I don't think they were implying that they were using any scheme to get free parking. Their point, I think, is that it can be cheaper to stay off-site even with a rental car and parking fee. Staying off-site and paying for parking is not using any privileges that are given to on-site guests.
