Parking time-limit at VWL?

Is there any time limit on parking at VWL? When we arrive will we be given a parking pass? We are thinking about spending some time there, eating then swimming. If we valet park, is there a time limit?

It seems that some people have mentioned a 3 hour time limit on general parking at WL, however I am very sure there is no time limit on valet parking. We valet parked around 5:30 pm on the night of MNSSHP, and didn't get back to the WL till 1:00 am. They had no problems with that.

When staying at another resort (pretty rare, but occasionlly we slip ) we usually go to VWL for one thing or another. Because we had the other WDW parking pass, they usually just wave us through. So no, no time limit. For us anyway. (self park)

with the security booth gone - the MK resorts are all given out the 3 to 5 hour passes - I got 5 hour one at the Polyn on our last visit.

this one was on the road (not a hotel) - between where the golf courses and Ft Wilderness - on my last trip this was not being manned anymore - I think because all the resorts have their own security guards

I stay at OKW alot so this is a short cut over to the MK resorts and FW.

This is the first time I have heard of any parking limits at any Disney Resorts. When did they implement this policy? How do they enforce it? What are the penalties?

mickeyc, like I said, VWL does not give time limits for parking (at least they never did to us). As long as you have a parking pass for a WDW resort, it should be enough. They always just pass us through. Come to think of it, they didn't at BWV either.

We were given a 3 hour pass at Contemporary and knew we would be almost double that. Guard told us no problem and we followed up with the front desk, they told us they are never checked, not to worry.

I am not sure I understand the logic, except maybe to disauade some crashers.

BTW, 7 hours at Cont and no problems

If you valet park there will not be any time limit.It's hit or miss if they will give you a parking permit for self park.

That guard shack is still manned,the resorts have been issuing parking passes for at least two years now.

Muushka...Thank you for the update. I guess I never paid too much attention since we were always staying on property and had a wdw parking pass.

Based upon the other comments it doesn't seem like there is strict enforcement. Thanks again.

I was told it was to stop people from parking at places like the Contemporary, which is on the monorail line, and hopping the monorail back and forth to the MK, then leaving.

believe me the security shack was NOT manned the whole week I was there - there was sign saying that no one was there......

I asked why and I was told that WDW was seeing if this place was really needed now that all the hotels had security guards - kepts in mind that the places for security guards have also been at the resorts but until the 90's they were not used on a daily basis.

this security shack is not necessary (except for those poor individuals who get lost) - and the traffic flow is much, much better through this area with it close.

all the hotels have security guards.

Check when you are there!

Wow, that was smart. We didn't think to do that last week. We went to Contemp and were given a 3 hour parking pass. We were eating then going to MK, so we went ahead and valeted so we wouldn't have any problems.

Later that day we went to Poly to watch the fireworks and we were waved on through. That was about 8:30pm.

Doesn't going this way allow you to bypass the MK main entrance, therefore getting into the MK parking lot for free (if you're an off-site guest)?
