Parking structure opening times on MM days

Why does the parking structure not open before MM times? I am going to be taking my little boy to breakfast with Minnie in the park and because our reservation is at 7:10 and the parking structure doesn't open until 7am (on a morning with MM beginning at 7) we were told (by Disney Dining over the phone) to park at Downtown Disney and then leave the park to move the car before the three free hours had expired. It seems kind of silly to me that the structure is not open prior to MM hours, is that right? It's going to be such an inconvenience to have to leave, but my AP covers the cost of parking in the structure, so I don't want to end up paying to stay in Downtown Disney either. Is there any way around this?

Disney says the parking, M&F and TS lot open 1 hour before the parks open. So I assume they will be open at 6am. But I've never hung around the garage that early to test out Disney's statement.

According to the woman I spoke with over the phone, they don't open until 7am (one hour before regular park opening) despite the MM beginning at that time on that day. I'm kind of hoping that someone will tell me otherwise, but I know that's probably a long shot. It just seems so silly to me that they wouldn't have parking open prior to MM hours, we can't be the only people who need to park a car for early entry.

We went a couple of weeks ago and the parking structure opened at 7:30am on a day when the park opened at 9am and MM at 8am. Don't know if that is consistent though.

I just wanted to update this post. I spoke with someone at Disneyland's Guest Relations today and they explained that on early entry mornings the M&F parking structure is open at 6:30am. Thanks again for those that offered help, and hopefully this will be useful for someone else.

Wow, still hardly enough time to park and ride the tram and be in line for MM! I guess most people are on-site for MM, but still...

Here is what I do the few times I have driven in recent years. Drop my party at the Harbor entrance 15 minute lot, they get in line, I take the car to M&F, I take the tram, I meet them in line.
