Has anyone ever parked a 2nd car at downtown disney and done the parks??, so other family members could leave early?
Is it hard to get back to Downtown Disney after parks close??

There are no buses that go direct from a park to Downtown Disney. You would have to go to a resort and transfer to a DTD bus. Why not just park the car in the parking lot of the park you intend to be at last?

I agree with shellybaxter's idea. The DTD to park routes have been gone for quite awhile now.

Buses to DD don't even start running until just before DD opens - since you'll have to go to a resort first & then wait for the park bus, you won't be able to get to the park very early in the day. Plus, the buses that deliver guests to DD don't always go back to a resort. YOumight have to wait awhile to even get on a bus to a resort. IMHO, it's a lot of hassle & wasted time just to save the $10 parking fee.

I agree with Shelly & Robert - just park in the lot of the park where you plan to end the day.

You don't have to pay for parking if you are staying at a Disney resort.

What people will go thru to save $10.00 (assuming if not staying at Disney resort) yet spend $$$$$$$$$$$ for a vacation without a second thought.

That $10 would buy a roll of film or a couple of Mickey [ice cream] bars or Dole Whips or perhaps another souvenir or cover most of the tip in a restaurant or several plays at the Frontierland Shooting Gallery or at Dinoland to name a few things people would otherwise miss out on.

It's a waste of money to put in brick sidewalks and hold outdoor events to revitalize downtown. At least so long as folks are threatened with a fine from the meter maid if the cashier line in the store takes too long. And if they hold off shopping until the meters are no longer in effect or even until quitting time, the stores are all closed.

I agree. Why not just park the second car at the park? I think your time is worth the money just to park the car.

Main reason I asked was cause we are going with DS, DDiL, DGS-5, and DGD 7mos, and we are staying offsite. DDiL not really good about doing alot of walking and not sure how the baby will do, so if she and DS and DGD want to leave they can, and we along to DGS can finish with downtown in the evening. We would park the second car and then drive to park in one vechicle. It was not about saving $10 bucks it was about doing others thing with DGS as he had a great time in summer 05 and really wanted to ride the buses and monorail and boats. So I guess we will do what ever, maybe park a second car at either park or Downtown or maybe we will just take them back to condo and come back.
So unless you knew the reason I asked, it was not very nice to assume that we were just wanting to save $10 bucks. Sorry I asked!!!

Look at it this way - parking at Downtown Disney is supposed to be, sensibly, for people shopping, dining, etc. AT Downtown Disney. Given how crowded the lots there can get, it's really not reasonable to occupy a space there while you're not there. Sure, you're just talking about one car - but with the thousands of vehicles parking at Walt Disney World each day, chances are you're NOT the only ones considering doing something like this.
