We used to always rely completely on WDW transportation. Now we have kids and this is the first time we are going and not staying Deluxe. So... We figure we'll be doing some driving periodically, especially for dining at other resorts (we're staying at PO).

So here's my question: what exactly is allowed? I know that I can drive to the Polynesian and park there if I have a res at Kona Cafe for breakfast, however, how long can I leave my car there? Can I eat at Kona then hop the monorail to MK for the rest of the morning/afternoon?

Any info or insight appreciated, thanks!

The general "rule" (sometimes enforced, sometimes not) is you get 3 hours to park at a resort and dine/tour/shop THAT resort. You should not use a resort's parking lot and then go to a park.

If you want to leave your car at a specific resort all day, please pay for valet parking ($14 + tip).

Disney may or may not enforce the parking limit (in other words, you might get away with it), but it's not really fair to take a parking spot away from those who have paid to stay there.

One easy guideline you can use: Drive to each and every place you are going to.

(Now you are permitted to leave your car in theme park lots or at your own resort while you take buses etc. to other places.)

We are staying at Boardwalk, planning a breakfast at BOMA and then going to AKParkm and I wondered what the rules were about going from a different resort to a park. Thanks. Now I know how to plan that day.
