Parking - resort vs. main lot

I've read that the self-parking lots for the hotels are "inconveniently located" compared to valet. Plus, it's $15 a day.

The PAP allows for free parking in the regular parking garage.

If a hotel guest parked in the regular Mickey and Friends parking structure (with the PAP free parking pass in the window) - can you leave your car for several nights or do they clear ALL cars out every night?

1) Is it allowed?

2) What are pros/cons? Safety if nothing is in the car?

3) How far is DLH self parking compared to Mickey and Friends main parking structure?

It is not allowed (http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/plan/parking.htm) and I wouldn't want to walk that walk anyways.

You can not overnight your car in the pay on entry lots. You will need to use the hotel lots.

DLH parking is about 150 feet away plus how far away your car is in the lot(the lot is about 100 yards long). Valet is right in front of the door.

Thanks. Irritated we have to pay $15 a day so I don't really want to fork out $2 more a day for valet. We are only going out with our car once - to the Cirque show.

Don't feel too bad. If you were there a year ago you would be paying a resort fee instead of the parking fee.

I agree with Matt. The parking fee is nothing new. When it was the resort fee, it covered parking, internet, and newspaper. Packages just incorporated that fee within the package price. So, it has been there for years, just called a different name with slightly different criteria.

Yeah, eventually I realized that.

Except if we didn't have a car we would save a good amount. We are planning a second trip in the fall w/o a car so we won't have to pay it then. But our spring trip, we will.
