Parking Question

Arriving Sunday morning, early. Staying at Boardwalk Villas, but almost sure our room won't be ready at that time and we'd like to do a rope drop somewhere. Will I have to stop by the boardwalk first to obtain parking credentials, or is there another means of doing it, like our magic bands or even paying to park and getting reimbursed later? Thank you for any insight.

By that morning, your magic bands should be enabled, so I would think you should be able to drive right up to one of the toll plazas and have them scan the band to verify you're a resort guest.

You need to use ON-LINE Check-In in advance and specify that you will be arriving at 7:30AM.
If you do that, your tickets, parking privileges, etc. will be activated at that early time for use via your MagicBands without ever needing to make a trip to the front desk.

Hey, Robo,
First, thanks for your maps and all the other advice you've supplied here over the years -- most helpful. I have a Yacht Club ressie, magic bands, and linked tickets. Room request has already been approved (roll-in shower). Will be arriving at 10 a.m. on check-in day; must go to YC to pick up ECV rental before going to parks. Would you recommend online check-in or will it not make a difference?

I just came back and was told differently, though Robo's response makes much more sense. I called the Coronado the day before check in to ask this very question. I was told that parking at the parks was not tied to our bands. We had already done the online check in to. Didn't make sense, but that's the answer I was given.

If you go to the parks first you will pay parking. When you go to check in at the hotel, just show them the parking receipt and they will reimburse you with cash. I have never had a problem being reimbursed.

On-line check-in will be a good plan regardless of what you want to do or when you will arrive.

Thanks for the kind words, egile!

Unless you know an inside number, you likely talked to a "Phone CM" at a call center stationed who-knows-where in the greater USA.
The "Phone CMs" know nothing about park operations.
