I was wondering if the self parking at BWI has been a problem for anyone. We plan to use the car at least once a day to go visit our doggie at Best Friends PetCare. We did this last year at AKL and didn't find it a problem but I have read the parking at BWI can be an issue. Feeling unsure about my resort decision...

We have had to park quite far out.

And others have experienced having to park even further away, if there's an event going on.

Not sure why it would be an issue. If you are staying at BWI you will be given a parking permit when you check in. As long as it is displayed on your dash you won't have a problem.

We've stayed at the BW during F&W and during December and always found a parking space. At worst there's the overflow lot across the street behind the Hess Station, but we've never had to park there. During F&W weekends there have been guards at the entrance to the resort driveway and additional guards at the entrance to the parking lots so that has made parking easier for those staying there.

I wouldn't let parking concerns stop me from staying at any of the Epcot resorts. :)

I wouldn't worry about the parking at the BWI if you're a registered guest there. There are three lots: the one nearest the convention center, the one a little further out behind valet, and the Hess Lot. If there nothing major going on, they allow registered guests of BWI to park there, otherwise the lot behind valet has usually had spaces. If things are really bad, then there is the Hess lot. I've done a lot of driving when staying at the BWI and I've never had a problem finding a spot (during the first week of December and during F&W in October).
